How to unlock the Hellish Honor achievement in Devil May Cry 3 HD - Definitive Guide

To obtain an S rank in a mission, you must meet five conditions: time, orbs, style, damage received and items used.

Time

  • fight only with enemies who do not allow you to go further. being distracted by extraneous living creatures (undead) you risk losing too much time.
  • It is convenient to move around areas free of opponents with activated DT or using fast attacking techniques with a short delay time, such as Stinger, for example.
Orbs

  • To get the largest number of orbs for kills, you need to kill both ordinary enemies and bosses with the highest style meter.
  • It's also a good idea to memorize the locations of all the secret orbs and red crystals in advance.
  • Moreover, easy farming is appropriate, for example, by replaying the shortest and simplest Secret missions. this can be of great help in the Orbs parameter. Naturally, as long as you fit in at the right time.
  • with full lives (of course) the green orb will give n number of red ones.
Items

  • just don't use them.
Style

  • continuously attack your opponents, not forgetting to alternate techniques. coupled with the lack of damage, this will provide you with a stable increase in style meter.
  • Also, taunting after the death of enemies will increase the rating.
  • using somersaults, dashes, jumps right before someone wants to attack you also supports your rating
  • On the easy-normal difficulty level, enemies die too quickly, so you should attack them with the fastest, high-frequency attacks, trying to hit everyone individually, and not the whole company at once.
  • Of course, a firearm can sometimes be a big help if you need to extend a combo or stun one of the enemies, but all weapons, with the exception of Ebony and Ivory, have a certain delay period between shots, which can be overcome, for example, with a low jump or quickly change weapons. if you use the Royal Guard style, then by clicking you will get instant cancellation of most animations. if you combine this trick with Spiral or Kalina, you will simply get a continuous barrage of heavy fire. The same can be done with many YES techniques.
Damage

  • It's not hard to get hit on the nose here. if very rude, then each hit received reduces the rank by a letter. in order to avoid the inevitable (ha-ha) pain, you should flawlessly master such banal techniques as somersault, jump, dash (trickster), Royal Guard (possible, desirable, but unreliable on high difficulties). It's no secret that during these movements there are a number of animation frames during which DanteVirgil is invulnerable.
  • Well, you need to know your weapon. Rebellion and Cerberus are good in the sense that their techniques are very fast and easily interrupted, which is incredibly helpful at the moment when you need to jump away from an enemy attack.
and yes, there is a suit that gives endless DT. There shouldn't be any problems with it in passing up to S-rank. for this thing you need to beat the game on either Very Hard or Mast Dai.

You need to get ranks on one difficulty. If, for example, you received half of the ranks on normal, and the other half on easy, the trophy will not drop.

If anyone has problems with any mission at S rank, here is a Playlist with a walkthrough on easy difficulty level

the easiest way is to take Virgil and use it to pass + in all levels and against all bosses

It's easier to do for Virgil on EASY. From the first playthrough (if you play well), you can complete 11 missions at S rank and the rest at A, but if you’re talking about that, then it will be very easy for you!

I will describe a simple way to get an “S” rank in style everywhere, and at the same time a large number of orbs.
After opening the best suit, you begin to progress on easy. As soon as the battle begins, turn on time slowdown and in human form, hold down and hold until 7 additional circles of demonic power begin to glow red. Then approach a crowd of enemies and let go . There will be “S” and even “SSS”, and at the same time a bunch of orbs

In fact, the whole trick is to try not to break the combo and bring it to at least S rank. Then, after the battle, more orbs will fall, respectively, at least two conditions will already be met (Orbs and Style). As many people write here, you need to go on Easy, but then it will be quite problematic to raise combo points to S, because mobs will die in almost 2-3 hits. My tactics were simple: difficulty - Normal (so that the enemies don’t give up quickly), weapon - Rebellion (it’s easier for them to do combos and you can interrupt the attack at any time if attacked), ranged weapon - Kalina Anna (keeps the combo counter pretty well), suit - with infinite DT (missions will run faster and this is another point - *Time*) and ability - Quicksilver (with time slowdown it will be almost impossible for mobs to hit you and it will be easier to fill the combo counter). We enter the image of a demon. Not mandatory battles - we run through them so as not to waste time. If the battle cannot be avoided, press + and we run to mash the mobs, alternating types of attacks, occasionally firing a bazooka and pressing taunt on Select (it is advisable to use it every 2-3 mobs. Taunting also helps to keep the counter). If quicksilver does not work, we run to the first mob we come across, make a simple blow or shot and immediately press through + . Well, in fact, during the game we don’t use items (another condition is *Items*). To be honest, I thought I would struggle with this achievement for a long time. I knocked it out this way in about 2 hours.

Take the DMD first. Then start playing on Easy WITHOUT Easy Automatic, with Rebelion and Cerberus and Quicksilver style.
1) Time. Just remember where to go - there will be plenty of time.
2) Style. At the beginning of the battle, ALWAYS press SELECT. Then press Quicksilver (with the last suit it will be endless) and beat the mobs. After 2 or 3 mobs, press SELECT again. If the style level has reached Stylish, you will receive an S for this parameter
3) Orbs. Don't be lazy to collect them. Also, if you can’t get the required number, you can go through the secret mission again (they will give you 1000 orbs).
4)Damage. In DT you already take little damage, but it’s better not to tank.
5) Items. Do not use.
