How to unlock the Brimming with Pride achievement in Devil May Cry 4 - Definitive Guide
This is simply for accumulating 100,000 proud souls. Just to be clear; Proud Souls are the reward you get for completing chapters of the story or playing Bloody Palace mode.
If you play the game normally, moving onto each difficulty as you unlock it and playing the story again, you'll likely get this at some point during your "Son of Sparda" run, possibly earlier (I suck at this game).
If you're impatient though, the best way of "farming" proud souls (in my opinion) is to play the start of Chapter 3 over and over on the highest difficulty you have available. Just defeat the scarecrows at the start (the 3 in the first room and the 4 in the room above), and then restart via the pause menu.
The harder the difficulty, the more proud souls you will be awarded. If you get hit, it will reset your combo counter and you won't score anywhere near as many proud souls, so try not to be hit. I would estimate the amounts to be as follows:
Human: 250-350
Devil Hunter: 350-450
Son of Sparda: 450-700
Dante Must Die: 900-1200
Some people prefer to replay chapter 20 over and over on the highest difficulty but I'm not sure it's any faster and it seems a lot harder to me.
This also happens to be the best place to farm red orbs. The path to the left right near the start contains a giant red crystal behind a fence that is good for a few thousand red orbs at a time. A good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone if you need to.
Each run should take between 1m10s and 1m30s if you are only killing scarecrows, more like 2 minutes if you are also getting red orbs from the crystal.
