All other solutions posted here have it WRONG, if you didn't get the achievement its because you weren't fast enough to kill more demons then Virgil in the post credits fight scene.
To Clarify: you need to replay mission 20 if it hasn't popped for you, fight Virgil, then ending scenarios roll, you CAN skip all cut scenes, ASIDE from the Dante and Virgil fight! You must be very quick about killing demons before Virgil does. It's easier if you pop your devil form, go after the spines, attack and dive immediately into the blood bubbling effects when an enemy spawns in.
If you're fast enough, you'll hear Dante say something like "i killed more then you, you whiling to accept defeat now?"
THEN the cinematic will play and achievement will pop at the result screen.

I sat through all the credits and did not get this scene. I fought as Nero, then as Dante, than sat there and it just took me back to the main menu.
