How to unlock the Is it warm in here or was that you? achievement in Diablo II: Resurrected - Definitive Guide
Upon completing Nightmare for the first time, as tempting as it is, do not just jump straight into Hell as you'll simply not make it far without spending loads of money on potions etc. Do Nightmare cow levels and farm runes to get at least 1 fully slotted runeword item until you're at least 75+ and geared up properly. THEN try the Hell playthrough. There are significantly more champions and 'mini bosses' in Hell maps who can kill you extremely fast, and your gear will start to cost 100k per repair too.
Alternatively while not a guide specifically for the Hell playthrough, for any and all "Complete the game on X difficulty" achievements, including the ones with specific classes, if you really hate playing as a certain class and have no interest in taking it past the achievement, you can simply make a custom game during American prime time (after 19:00 UTC) and name it "Taxi Please", or something equivalent.
This will attract the attention of bored Level 90+ players who can literally skip through only the necessary quests to beat the game, making portals for you only to the required bits, and essentially beat Hell in less than an hour.
Of course this is leaning entirely on the community's generosity and so there are several things you need to be careful of when doing this to not be a known ponce among the elites;
- As you'll be severely underleveled/undergeared for these areas, you will die very easily to all enemies and boss fights. Try not to irritate your taxi driver too much by constant deaths and don't try to farm EXP from their kills by staying too close. You should still be able to collect EXP from up to 2 screens away from the enemy/boss death, so stay back.
- Don't just pick up all the set pieces/runes/uniques unless the taxi driver actually leaves them behind. They want to get something out of this too.
- Message them on Xbox if you run into any trouble. Sometimes they forget to do certain things (like picking up all of Harin's body parts in act 3, meaning you won't be able to destroy the orb despite the Mace dropping) and the last thing you want to do is end up stuck with them storming off ahead, killing the boss and wasting everyone's time.
- Be sure to thank them profusely for their help and don't beg for anything/harass them if they ditch you! Some are even nice enough to put the achievement-related items like the Stone of Jordan in a trade window to help you unlock extra achievements., or even give you free gear!
- If you get ditched mid-journey, simply wait for another driver or come back another day, don't harass/insult them for quitting suddenly.
- Of course at least put some effort into the game/class and don't try to be carried right from Lv1. Hell is a significant difficulty spike which gives a bit of justification for the taxi, so at least getting to Hell legit gives you a better chance of being carried through it.
In short, don't be a dick online, and good luck achieving this.
