How to unlock the Rus Do Fah! achievement in Diablo II: Resurrected - Definitive Guide

Rune words are created by placing a certain set of runes in the correct order in socketed, non-magic items. You can read all about the many possible rune words here:
https://www.wowhead.com/guides/diablo-2-runewords-types-bonu...

The easiest rune word to get might be "TirEl", which could come fairly early in the game as long as you have both a Tir Rune and an El Rune. Once you have them, buy a non-magic (the item name text must be white or gray) mace, axe, or sword that has exactly two sockets from Charsi or Gheed. Once you have one, place the Tir Rune in the top socket and then place the El Rune in the bottom socket and BAM... you got it.

The El Rune must be found, but the Tir Rune can be created by combining three Eld Runes in the Horadric Cube. Three El Runes combined make an Eld Rune. Note that you need to be playing in Expansion Mode for runes to appear in the first place.

The details are important here. It has to be a mace, axe, or sword (I used a sword) with two sockets. It must be a non-magic item. You must put Tir in and then El.

Of course, it could always be the Xbox achievement system itself causing you trouble as I've often seen.

I can confirm this. It didn't pop with a shield but it worked with a short sword.

I used a Large Shield with 3 sockets, used "Ral" "Ort" "Tal" (in that order) and unlocked it. You get the runes as a reward in Act 5 Mission 2, if you don't mind the wait.

Of course TirEl only works with a Sword, Mace or Ace. Rune words are tied to a dedicated item type.

The link in the solution pretty much lists all of those. Few examples:
TirEl -> Axe, Mace, Sword
TirRal -> Staff (this is what I used)
OrtEth -> Missle Weapon
TalEth -> Chest Armor

and so on. One need to look up the link and then see what runes and socketed equipment is available. Simply putting TirEl in a random 2 socket item does not work.
