The stone of Jordan is a Unique ring, and the best place to farm it is actually nightmare act 1 boss Andariel, she can only drop 3 unique rings so its better than in hell where she can drop a lot more.

Other than that just have lots of magic find and good luck with the RNG. But this is a very rare drop so good luck.

or of course get someone to drop for you or show in trade window.

There's an easy way to check if you've quest bugged andariel, she won't drop potions, arrows, bolts or gold.

It's only a little better odds but it still counts.

I've read that she is always bugged now regardless of if you quest bug her but I haven't tested myself.

Andariel Quest bug still works. On nightmare, if I'm not mistaken with the quest bug done your chance to find a SoJ on her is around 1:1500. Of course if you have magic find this improves.

no but players 8 does make loot drops better / more common so if you have a full game mf running is better. But it still is RNG and as i said its not a common drop even with the andy bug...

worth mentioning/possibly triple checking that the Andariel quest glitch still works. You can kill Andariel for the quest in Nightmare(or other difficulties), then travel to town using the quest town portal that activates near her body. Here it depends, as people give varying reports. You can either save/quit in town Rogue Encampment or talk to Warriv and Travel East immediately, where you save/quit the moment you get to Lut Gholein. After reloading into the game, Andariel will supposedly only drop the best tier quality of gear, where before she would randomly sometimes only drop blue magic items on some runs. You still have to wade through the RNG of hoping to get a Stone of Jordan, but it will increase your odds since that will be in the higher tier of stuff.

This guide is not obtaining a Stone of Jordan but rather at this time until it is patched out which I doubt will happen is actually a guide for popping the achievement with someone else's SOJ.

So find someone who has one enter the trade window and have them place it in the trade window.

Yep you don't even have to trade it with anyone i.e. have it on your character at the moment to pop the achievement. Having it in the trade window is enough for the achievement to unlock.

Note: I can help with this whilst I'm online and around but be patient as I am a Dad and have limited gaming time as it is for when I am online.

If you can find someone who can do this for you it’s easily the best way to get this achievement.

The odds of getting this to drop on nightmare andariel (the lowest chance boss) with 550 MF on players 1 is 1 in 1408. Which is soul destorying.

Even if you get a ring to drop the SOJ is 43 times rarer than Manald Heal or Nagelring so even if are lucky enough to get a unique ring to drop its 9/10 gonna be one of those.

So target farming Andariel for it is going to be pretty pretty soul destroying (even if you’re doing it on single player)

For more successful ring farming, I recommend bugging Andariel on Nightmare difficulty. What you need to do for this: have an active quest to kill her, then kill her and immediately go east in the camp, without talking to another NPC. In the second act, save and exit, you're done, now Andariel will always drop loot with a quest chance

There is no point in bugging Andy on the “nightmare”, because... The chance of this ring falling out is the same (both quest Andariel and regular). Knocked out this ring solo. I made about ~1000 runs for Sorka (MF=327/playersx8) and about ~3000 runs for Nekra with Enigma (MF=457/playersx8) And now, after 2 months of real life, this ring fell out. draw conclusions about how rare it is, though. Maybe I'm just so unlucky.
