How to unlock the Prepared for Battle achievement in Diablo III - Definitive Guide

Level 60 is the highest level of gear. So for this achievement, you need to equip a level 60 item in each of these slots (all at the same time):

Helm
Shoulders
Amulet
Bracers
Body Armor
Both Rings
Gloves
Weapon
Belt
Pants
Boots

I got the achievement with a 2-handed weapon but I'm sure you could instead use a 1-hand weapon with an off-hand item (shield/source/mojo/quiver/etc.) or even two 1-hand weapons should your class allow it.

Item quality does not matter (legendary, set, rare, magic) as long as each item has a level 60 level req.

Vendors do not seem to sell level 60 gear, even in Inferno act 3/4.

I started finding level 60 gear in act 4 Hell. I suggest stashing a level 60 item for each slot as soon as you start finding level 60 gear (rather than salvaging/selling) so can collect most of it through normal progression and don't have to go crazy looking for it all at once. I wasn't diligent in keeping level 60 stuff as I progressed through Inferno and had to farm for a few pieces. I ended up crafting a level 60 body armor but (I believe) it was from a blacksmith plan that I had found. So crafting is an option!

I ran through the Arreat Crater and killed Azmodan (on Inferno) several times to hunt for the few items I needed. I also found a few awesome Legendary items in the process.

The blacksmith can very cheaply make level 60 items. Way easier than farming. You'll only need rings.

Does this have to be equipped all at the same time?

Yes, all items must be equipped simultaneously.

That armor you crafted, was it archon armor of strength/intelligence/vitality/dexterity? You can actually buy the plans for them from squirt the peddler I believe. I think the price is 50.000 gold.

Amulet and rings will definitely take the longest to acquire.

For Armed to the Teeth, you will need equipment level 25+, which will start dropping near the end of your first playthrough, and will drop indefinitely for the remainder of your time spent on that character. For the level 60 gear, you will need to be in Inferno mode for the best chances of getting good level 60+ gear, and if you are having trouble, remember you can lower the difficulty.

The 13 item slots that must be filled are:
Hands
Shoulders
Chest
Head
Neck
Wrists
Main hand
Off hand (weapon, shield, source, spellbook, mojo)
Belt
Legs
Feet
Ring x2

We find things of this type at level 60 and put them on:

  • Head
  • Shoulders
  • Frame
  • Wrists
  • Hands
  • Belt
  • Legs
  • Feet
  • Amulet
  • Rings (2 pieces)
  • Weapon (either two-handed or one-handed weapon + item for the left hand)

It is not necessary to find level 60 items; they can be made by a blacksmith leveled up to level 10. Problems can only be with the rings.
