How to unlock the Space! I Love Space! achievement in Diablo III - Definitive Guide
To upgrade your stash push in the right analog stick while in the stash, to upgrade it you will need a large sum of gold.
Upgrade 1: 10,000 Gold/ /Stash increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 2: 10,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 3: 25,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 4: 25,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 5: 75,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 6: 75,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 7: 150,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 8: 150,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 20 slots
Upgrade 9: 500,000 Gold/ /Stash Increase: 30 slots
Total Slots: 210
These slots are shared between all of you characters! (Softcore mode and Hardcore mode are separate stash's)
You can always get gold from a friend, as there is no auction house to spend your gold on in this game, and an achievement to get 5 million gold, so a lot of friends could have loose cash to give you. It never hurts to ask! (Thanks Zedymieon77)
Good luck and have fun!
This method can be used to obtain the following achievements in Diablo 3 as quickly as possible. The achievements are:
A Life with Meaning
Just a Hobby
Space! I Love Space!
You must complete the game at least once, because the items Page of Blacksmithing and Page of Jewel Crafting do not drop until Nightmare Mode. You will also need a second controller and a “Dummy” silver account. The method used is item/weapon duping.
Note: Before you begin, unequip all weapons and items from your current follower. For some unexplained reason you will lose all of their gear unless you do this.
Start a new game with your second account (this should be Profile 1 on your Xbox), when you are at the screen, join the game with your account as profile 2. Start the game and work your way to the center of New Tristram. At this point Profile 1 will just stand there and do nothing. Make sure you have a least One (1) Page of Blacksmithing and One (1) Page of Jewelcrafting.
Step One: With your profile, go to your menu, and drop the items you want to dupe, but do not leave your menu once dropped.
Step Two: Using the Guide Button on your controller, log out your profile, DO NOT dashboard.
Step Three: Immediately log back in, and rejoin the game.
Step Four: Pick-up the items you dropped, your inventory has just doubled.
Step Five: Quit the game with your profile, you have just saved.
Step Six: Join the game again and repeat steps 1-5.
By saving and quitting after each duplication you are exponentially increasing your inventory. You start with one: at first save you have two, second save 4, third save 8; etc. You will need to use the Blacksmith (Level 1) to create the items: Tome of Blacksmithing, Tome of Jewel Crafting and Tome of Secrets. Okay, on to the items that you need.
Ten (10) Pages of Blacksmithing = One (1) Tome of Blacksmithing
Ten (10) Pages of Jewelcrafting = One (1) Tome of Jewelcrafting
Five (5) Tomes of Blacksmithing + Five (5) Tomes of Jewelcrafting = One (1) Tome of Secrets
I’m not entirely sure how many you need of each, but you can easily dupe one thousand (1,000) of each in less than thirty minutes. You can always dupe more, if necessary, I keep one thousand (1,000) of each in my stash for backup.
When you have crafted one thousand (1,000) Tome of Secrets, continue to dupe yourself copies which you can sell for seventy-seven thousand dollars ($77,000) each. Also, once you max out your Jeweler, you can sell five hundred (500) Star Gems for one hundred six thousand dollars ($106,000) each.
Note: This method WILL NOT help you earn the achievement All That Glitters, believe me, I tried.
The stash is the large chest that will appear in each of the quest hubs found throughout the game, and they are used to store items that you don't want to have in your main inventory, and can also be used to exchange items between your normal mode characters (which is the stash I recommend you upgrade, unless you fancy Hardcore).
If you don't have the cash to purchase upgrades that you need early on, creating a new character (or characters) and moving items through the stash to have the items be stored in their inventory is a free way to store tons of stuff early on. With the vastly increased drop rate for powerful items, having as many slots available as possible will become useful earlier.
The upgrades are as follows for a total cost of 1,020,000 gold
10k from 20 to 40 spaces
10k from 40 to 60 spaces
25k from 60 to 80 spaces
