How to unlock the The Prime Evil (Nightmare) achievement in Diablo III - Definitive Guide

In order to play the nightmare mode and finally kill Diablo, you will need to be level 25 and complete the normal mode.

Once you complete the normal mode and you are level 25 then start a new game in Nightmare and once you kill Diablo again you will unlock this achievement.

My advice on beating the game on Nightmare is to select Nightmare and easy difficulty.

Clear out all the hideouts and areas in order to level up quicker and in order to find better items to use.

Overall on easy, you wont find any resistance and the bosses are really weak and is a piece of cake to defeat them with no too much trouble.

Personally i was playing with a Demon Hunter for the Long range safety while having the Templar as a follower to take the damage and with that method i have never died. Even though if you die, just select revive at corpse and once you go in town, repair your items as they have lost 10% of their durability.

Good luck :)

Down voted due to no strategies of actually how to get the achievement. You only describe how to get to Nightmare mode. Just saying. Fix your solution and I'll change my vote

There is not much to be said on how to beat the game. I have only posted this solution for those they had trouble on advancing to the next mode, due to the lack of their level. I will though post some hints just to satisfy those they need some advice.

Just to clarify, this can be done on "Easy" difficulty, just make sure you are doing it on Nightmare mode. I got it done on a Demon Hunter around level 48.

If you are having trouble, make sure to keep your distance, roll a lot.

If you think you might need to level up a bit, use the quest select and checkpoint feature (from Main Menu) to run the 2nd quest in Act 4 repeatedly. Kill all the enemies, quit the game, and repeat. You can continue on and kill the bosses if you want to. Just quit the game and load a new one once you start running out of enemies to kill.

I also ran the Ballistas quest in Act III to level up.
