How to unlock the Master Combatant achievement in Diablo IV - Definitive Guide

Easily boosted with a friend, just party up and teleport to one of the two pvp zones on the South West edge of the continent, and then unparty. Both of you need to use the emote wheel to mark yourself for PvP (called bloodsworn I believe), the default location is the right side emote wheel (so bring it up, and scroll to the right) and then it will be in the down positon.

Then walk into the zone and kill each other. Frankly, I killed 4 random people and then my friend for the 5th, so I can't personally speak if it is 5 unique player kills, but I believe the achievement is tied to the in game challenge which is only listed as "5 PvP kills".

If you don't want to boost just take your high level character into tier 1/2 and stomp some underleveled people.

Edit: Oncogene27 confirmed it does not need to be unique players.

Fought my friend in the pvp zone 4 times and killed a random player that ran up for 5 and it popped.

Did they update this? Unpartying made friend disappear.

@Cortanarama : You need to un-party BEFORE going aggressive. And be on the same world tier obviously.

PVP is definitely much more active on higher world tiers but you'll basically just get demolished by the max level players who have nothing better to do with their time.

Alternative solution is to drop down to WT3 (if you're pretty high level) and get PvP kills that way. I could one-shot most players at said world tier with my build at level 70.

T3, went as a pack of 3 differently specced Barbs in our 70s, with 3 different builds from IcyVeins and we wiped the floor with everyone, achievement popped within 5 mins for all 3 of us - but it has to be kills assigned to you and not assists.

If you don’t want to do this method with a friend, team up with 3 randoms (use the Xbox LFG tool if needed) and as most players wander around alone you’ll have the numbers advantage.

Did this with my rapid fire rogue after hitting 100. Went back to T3 and rode around in a circle in one of the PVP areas until someone tried to purify seeds or take on the Seething Abomination. I was stealthy and didn't bloodmark until right before attacking. Finding targets was a bit of a pain, but the kills were a formality.

Can this be done in local co-op?

How are people boosting this? When I my friends unparty they disappear.

Dropping down to Tier 3 is absolutely the best way to do this. I got it done in 5 minutes with a Level 91 character and it was a breeze.

*sigh* another great game where they've shoehorned in an unnecessary PVP element
I mean, it's Diablo! ...PvP....why oh why?!?

Thanks exfalinn. Did it on my second control and it worked perfectly. Even got an ear as a souvenir. Just went right outside the town, killed and teleported a few feet back in town to respawn my second player.

I did this with a second account signed into my Xbox. There is a few seconds after the dummy account blood marks himself where he is vulnerable to your main account where you can kill them and it counts as the kill. My main was level 85 and my dummy account was 20 (not sure what the minimum is). I removed their armor and had them walk into a small mob. When he started getting attacked I had him blood mark himself and hit him with my main who could one shot him. There is only a few seconds to strike so if you don't get him you must try again. I would then return to town with my main, cleanse myself at the shrine, and then repeat the process. I turned cross platform off just to reduce the chance of getting disrupted.

If there is a minimum level, you can just run the first capstone dungeon to get them to tier 3 and it doesn't take long to level them up especially since you don't need to control both players as the 2nd one gets pulled along wherever you go.

Edit: For clarity, when I say dummy account, I mean another Xbox Live profile since it won't let you play with a guest. account.

Can be done in couch Co-op. The player on horseback is not affected by the bloodmark started by other player and can be attacked.

To resurrect him, you must purify yourself in the village

  1. Play in couch Co-op mode
  2. One player must be on horseback (cn_right)
  3. Other player start bloodmark
EDIT : I do this with two different accounts. Mine (Who buy Diablo IV) and my friend account.

Few notes from Recster (Thank you) :
  1. The alt account needs a separate battle.net account. This is a pain, but doable. Just be careful not to link the wrong account when setting up a new battle.net account for the alt character.
  2. The alt account needs to complete the prologue. Not to worry... I think I did it in approximately 15 minutes by skipping cutscenes.
  3. When on horseback with your main, the alt account needs to mark for blood.
  4. I you couldn't get purify to work, nor could get the alt account to respawn. You can fix this by just fast traveling anywhere, then back to the fields of hatred.

Do you need a separate user account or can you just join with another character you've created?

This does indeed work after some trial and error. A few notes for clarity.

4. I couldn't get purify to work, nor could I get the alt account to respawn. I fixed this by just fast traveling anywhere, then back to the fields of hatred.

In all, great idea, so please accept my upvote!

Diablo 4 isn’t just a PVE ARPG, oh no. In two specific regions in Sanctuary, the game is actually a PVP game, if you want that. Unfortunately, for this achievement, you’re going to have to dip your feet into the game’s multiplayer.

Those two zones in Sanctuary designated for PVP are:
  • The first “Fields of Hatred” is in western Dry Steppes.
  • The second “Fields of Hatred” is in the far southwest of Sanctuary, in the region of Kehjistan. It’s east of Gea Kul in the far southwest corner.
Basically, in order to be PVP ready, you need to head to one of those 2 zones and change your status to Bloodmarked - you do that by using the “Mark for Blood” emote. Once you’ve done that and moved out of the town, you’re free to kill or be killed.

A few things to remember:
  • It’s best to ambush players who are Bloodmarked and at an Altar of Extraction.
  • You don't have to be Bloodmarked if someone else is. Being Bloodmarked means you can fight every other player. Not being Bloodmarked means you can only fight other Bloodmarked players.
  • Watch out for higher-levelled enemy players. There’s no level zones here, it’s a free for all, and you could get steamrolled by a level 60 player at level 50.
  • When you’re Bloodmarked, take advantage of the situation and open the Baleful chests for sweet, sweet loot.
Basically, get in there and just keep trying to get those 5 kills. As long as you don’t pick-up any Seeds of Hatred, you won’t lose anything for trying either, so don’t worry too much. The only thing it will set you back is gold, for when you repair your equipment for every 8 deaths or so.

Check out our Diablo 4 PVP guide here to give you a rundown about how it all works.

Performed in PvP zones. You need to call up the emotions menu, switch to right and activate the mark (skull). After which you will be able to kill other players. For the trophy you need to make 5 kills, the same player goes into the statistics.

The easiest and fastest way. Invite a friend (if you have one who plays). Another way, if you are in a clan, then negotiate with one of them, 2 minutes and you have the trophy.

To get a trophy in fair pvp with randoms, you need a ps+ subscription on the account you are playing from. Without a subscription, the pvp mode is not even activated. If you don’t have a subscription on your game account, you can beat it with a friend, the level of the heroes is not important, the main thing is that the difficulty level is the same

If it is difficult to complete a trophy, you are constantly punished by high-rate players or others with a build more suitable for PvP battles. If you don’t want to pump up, rely on luck and generally finish the PvP trophy somehow calmer, I’ll give you this, not very nice advice
On the way to the trophy for lvl 100, having farmed about 80-90, go to lower difficulty and go to the pvp zone. There are dudes running around the nightmare, about lvl 50-70, and for your, for them, high-rate character, it won’t be difficult to annihilate the required number of players.
