How to unlock the Dedication achievement in DiRT 2 - Definitive Guide

Complete and win every event in Dirt Tour. If you're having trouble finishing an event, drop the difficulty. All in all, this is much more time consuming than it is hard.

There are a total of 100 events (91 regular, 5 World Tour, 3 XGames, 1 Colin McCrae). While most of the first level events are a single race, the later events up the number to 2-3 races each. In total there are about 250 races, so, as the title of the achievement states, this one will take some dedication.

Throwdowns DO NOT count towards this achievement.

For tips on not killing yourself out of monotony and other sanity-related gems, Supert3d's solution is a wonderful resource.

OMG, this took forever! Its totally not a matter of difficulty, there are just so many races and its the same thing over and over again. I'm so, so glad that its over with!

Good point about the # of races in each event. I've added it to the solution

I reached "As Good as it Gets" over 11 achievements ago, and I'm STILL working my way through this one... I fear the Level 30 achievement was correct, this is now just getting repetitive...

I got it at level 68 playing on casual. I recommend switching the place you play after each event to cut down on repeditive-ness. (Play one event on Japan, then to Malaysia, then to Croatia etc.)

Best car is whatever you feel most comfortable in, really.

Hey by winning on the double races if you come in first in all of thoughs do you mean that or come first in the cup and say you git 2nd first race and 1st 2 race and you git first in the cup does that count

@TH2012, yes, that would still count. All that matters is that you come first overall in each series of races.

Just got it. That was SO boring.

I don't think I'll ever play this game again after that.

Does a final tie after 2 races count as an event win?

Good question! I honestly don't know if a final tie will count as a win.

I can verify that a team event tie after two races still counted as a victory for me.

Completely agree. I've been going at it for nigh-on 2 days and I'm only halfway through! Definitely a bit of a mind-numb'r - Even more painful if you're going for 1st every time, as one major crash out can end it all.

Only thing I'd add is to bear in mind beforehand that in the later stages each standard -event- has up to 3 -races-, so even though it's only 100 events, it's more like 250+ races in total!!

Soooo boring and sooooo repetitive. The ratio doesn't do it justice!

I can't say much more in a technical sense further than sc00termcg33 because he's covered it really well. All I can say is how I did this and a few details to maybe help you.

It took me approximately 219 Races eventually. I was Level 64 and it was incredibly boring. It seems like the game effectively completes around Level 30. This means you've probably got most the achievements already so you only have the 'Just Drive' achievement to look forward to.

A tip I can offer is to load up a USB drive with podcasts and/or music to listen to while you race. I began to find the audio in general quite infuriating. I've come away from this game hating Dave Mirra, but I believe he's pretty annoying already.

Try and spread out the races as evenly as possible. The game repeats tracks constantly so spreading it is really important for your sanity. I was under the mistaken impression that I loved the LA tracks so left a lot of them until the end. Even enjoying them didn't prepare me for 30+ races on them. It always gets dull, no matter where.

The cars are worth spreading out too, you can quite easily get the 'drive all cars' achievement if you constantly buy a new car per event. You can also check within the car select screen if you've driven one by clicking the 'stats' section.

Good luck, around the 65/100 events completed it feels like it'll never end. :)

If you won a team event with your partner winning the race to get the cheev then that one may need to be won by you.

Would upvote if I could - all awesome tips. Spreading the disciplines, locations and cars out was essentially what I did to stay sane - it also really helped me hone my skills for online success.

You can tell which events you have won by the little holographic number 1’s that appear on the name of the event; simply win them all to obtain this trophy. Remember, the difficulty level does not matter, so play on easy if you have trouble.
