How to unlock the The Real Thing achievement in DiRT 3 - Definitive Guide

This can be achieved with any AI difficulty and damage off

Firstly you will need to turn the HUD off via the Options menu from the main menu. Select HUD and set the Entire HUD to Off.

Now head into the Dirt Tour and select any Rally event once the event starts you will need to press cn_RB to change your view until you get the cockpit view.

You Must race the entire Rally in the cockpit view so once you have changed your view restart the race. Be sure to pay close attention to what your co-driver tells you and remember you have 5 Flashbacks to use should you make a mistake.

You don't need to restart the race if you change the view before the race starts, as Maka's guide states. +1 though.

From the main menu, select “Options”, then “HUD”. Now make sure the entire HUD option is set to “OFF”. Now go into Dirt Tour, and run a RALLY race from start to finish in the cockpit view. You are allowed to switch views before the race, but make sure you are in the cockpit view before the countdown ends and your car moves. Keep in this view the entire race. Once you finish one race in first place, you will obtain this achievement.

Any difficulty is allowed, and automatic transmission is fine as well. Flashbacks also do not influence this achievement.

sounds hard, but stupidly easy. go to options, switch HUD off. select automatic.start first rally in dirt tour, you can play on easiest difficulty set up... so you basically steer and hold down right trigger.

when race starts push rb a few times until you get inside view....this is fine to do before race starts... easy!

Firstly, start up a rally event in the DiRT Tour. Then before you set off, press the button (by default) until you get to the helmet view from inside the car. Next, pause the game and go to options and then hud. Switch "Entire hud" to off. Back out the menu's, restart the race and go on to win. If you are struggling remember you can drop the difficulty to 1. You always have your flashbacks available to you as well if you mess up. It's also an easy trophy to pair up with "Assistance is Futile" and knock both of those out in a single race.

Can be done at the first race.

We go to the main “Options” / “Panel” / “entire panel” and set it to OFF. We make a view from the cockpit so that the steering wheel and dashboard of the car itself can be seen and we win the race.

Just before the start of the RALLY race (during the start time countdown), press START, enter OPTIONS, then HUD, and set ENTIRE HUD - OFF .
Then use the right bumper ( RB ) to quickly (before the start) change the camera to the view from BEHIND THE STEERING .

If you don’t have time, just prepare everything, then press START, and RESTART.

Win with these settings and the achievement will unlock.
