How to unlock the Join the Party achievement in DiRT 3 - Definitive Guide

As all the other guides say you must win in 4 party game modes:
Outbreak
Transporter
Invasion
Cat and Mouse

It seemed that this was glitched but it is not. You must be the leading scorer in the room and place first in order for it to count as a win. Being on the winning team will not count towards your win. Also, if you have already won the Cheeze It achievement you can scratch that off as a win.

Remember you must be in first place (Not your team) or it does not count!!!

Does it count if you win a solo session in transporter mode or must be done in a team?

Do you need to finish first in 1 round or finish first overall if your doing like 5 rounds ?

If you are doing multiple rounds you have to finish first overall. I would recommend that you only do one round matches. Makes it much easier to keep track of.

There are 4 game modes in party mode, and you must win at least 1 in each. Each game mode also has it's own separate achievement as well. I recommend playing on a team, as you have a better chance to win. The modes are listed and explained here:

  • Invasion (Smash the robots) - You need to smash the robots (+1) and avoid the buildings (-1), person with the most points wins.
  • Transporter (Capture the Flag) - A flag and flag capture zone will spawn every time there is no flag on the level. The idea is to get the flag and drive it over the the capture spot without losing it. Score the most flags to win. Hit flag carriers to steal the flag.
  • Outbreak (Infection) - One person will start off as infected, and the others will be clean. Infected cars are marked as neon green. You are most likely to win if you start infected, but if you're not either get infected right away and start tagging other people or survive the round. Rarely does the person who survives the longest (but still gets infected) win.
  • Cat and Mouse (TEAM based) - This game mode is only available if you choose team under Pro Tour or Jam Session. The objective is to have your team mouse finish before the other team. As a mouse, race to to finish as fast as you can while avoiding cats. As a cat, make sure the other mouse has a hard time finishing the race. If your mouse finishes first, you win the race, achievement unlocked.

There are 4 party modes that you need to win. Playing in team mode is advised since it ups your chances of winning and you need to search in team mode for Cat n Mouse. This does count across Pro Tour and Jam Session so you can boost these wins with some friends. Things like Cat n Mouse would need 4 people to start a game though. It is worth trying normally though since especially in teams your chances of winning after a few games are pretty high.

In fact, you only need to win in non-standard game modes, namely Transporter, Outbreak, Invasion and Cats and mouse.

Best done with a friend in a Jam Session.

You need to win the game 10 multiplayer party modes:

1. Rally 6. Duel

2. Rally Cross 7. Invasion

3. Pathfinder 8. Epidemic

4. Gymkhana 9. Carrier

5. Off-road race 10. Cat and Mouse
