How to unlock the Checks and Balances achievement in DIRT 5 - Definitive Guide

Just a note about this achievement, it is a cumulative achievement. So you do not need to possess $1,000,000 in your bank at one time, you can purchase cars etc and it won't make this achievement take longer to get.

As for tips, sponsors offer varying levels of pay-outs per race so it might be worth choosing one that offers large race rewards.

Happy hunting

Tracker bugged at 72%. Ill update when Ive finish it.

Edit at 00:52 EST: Tracker debugged at 96%/97%/99% to finally unlock. Something tricky was going on server side. Happy unlock and have a nice one! Nice guide nonetheless.

A good way to earn 14k+ per event is to play the Gymkhana event in Chapter 1. It is only 1 minute 30 seconds and if you beat the requirement for the event you receive 14k credits or up to 20k credits for higher scores and sponsors.

The event can be found in Chapter 1 and is on the 7th branch of events. It is at the bottom of the event list, Gymkhana, Cape Town Stadium.

This is not an easy method as it is quite difficult to beat the required 18K score requirement straight away but after about an hour or so you should be hitting 20-25K+.

Below is a good run of the track if you are struggling to hit the required score.

While a million (Dirt) dollars is a lot of money, the prize money racks up pretty quickly in this game. If you are doing every event, you will reach $1,000,000 some time in Chapter 3. This is a cumulative total so don't worry about spending anything on cars/customisation. You can also check your progress on your profile page.

Money can be spent, the trophy is cumulative

For those who, like me, quickly read the terms of the trophy and remembered it wrong, you need to earn a million in your career, and not so much that you have it in your account. Although maybe I'm the only one so inattentive
