How to unlock the Fire Up That Car... Again achievement in DiRT Rally 2.0 - Definitive Guide
I have a full video guide on this Achievement here, with tips for every location, including Scotland:
This Achievement is unlocked in My Team and requires an online connection to RaceNet.
In My Team there are a number of Events that you can take part in. In particular there are Daily Challenges which task you with driving on a specific Stage in a specific Class.
In these Daily Challenges you will compete against other human players on a global Leaderboard, which is split into 4 Tiers. To finish in the Top Tier you need to be within the Top 25% (potentially Top 10%) of players across all platforms, limiting your Leaderboard to Xbox players only will not affect this.
Sometimes you'll find a slightly easier variant of a Daily Challenge called a "Delta Daily", where you need to beat the Community Delta time. There are 2 Tiers in this instead of 4, and finishing in the Top Tier counts towards this Achievement.
At 10.00 UTC / 11.00 BST the next day the Daily Challenge will end and you will be rewarded based on your final Leaderboard position.
For this Achievement you will be looking for Group B 4WD Daily Challenges. Once one comes up enter it with your Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2.
As this is a skill-based Achievement you will need to be reasonably quick with this car to achieve a Top Tier result, and it is a rather difficult car to drive. Due to the dynamic nature of driving games there are no hard-and-fast guaranteed ways to finish in the Top Tier, but here are a few tips:
> Upgrade the engine of your car. This will take a long time to do (in order to get the final upgrade) and cost a lot of CR, but the end result is that your car will be much quicker through the Stage. From my experience of racing stock vs upgraded cars a fully-upgraded car will be 20-30 seconds faster through a Stage.
> Use Soft Tyres, and no Spare Tyre. The extra grip and reduced weight will be worth another chunk of time in a Stage.
> Be cautious when driving. A clean run with no crashes will be much quicker than a flat-out sprint where you roll the car. Brake earlier than you would in a flat-out run and be careful through the turns. Don't go full-throttle until you're confident that you have safely navigated a corner; the Quattro has immense amounts of power and can trip you up easily. You only get 1 shot at a Daily Challenge so make it count.
> Drive the Quattro in as many events as you can outside of the Daily Challenge. The more time you spend with the car the better you'll understand its handling characteristics.

Beginner's Guide:
This is the hardest Achievement in the entire game as it requires you to perform well against human opponents in a tricky car. It cannot be shortcutted and there's little margin for error.
Good luck.

If you completed the requirements before April 16, 2019 the Achievement may not retroactively unlock.
I hit Top Tier in the Quattro on numerous occasions since launch and got no Achievement when I logged in on April 16 (post-bugfix) and it didn’t unlock.

It should unlock with the Delta challenges which are much easier and only have 2 tiers. I beat one of those by 40 seconds and I'm usually on the border of tier 2 and 3 on the regular daily challenges. Can't guarantee it of course, but it doesn't say it has to be one of the 4 tier events for it to count, it just says get in the top tier.

This trophy is obtained in the "Events" area of the "My Team" tab. You will then go to the "Community Events" section, where, hopefully you come across a Group B 4WD Rally - Daily Event. You will need to own the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 and you will need an online connection and be connected to the RaceNet servers as well.
If a Group B 4WD Rally is not available, the events are rotated daily at 10:00 UTC, so check back the next morning for a new batch of them, and/or your results of your current attempts.
There are two types of events that you will come across: "Daily Event" and "Delta Daily". To be in the top tier of a Daily Event you will need to be in the top 10%. So if 2000 players race on the day, you will need to be in the top 200 by the end of it. The Delta Daily is much, much easier, where you only have to be in the top 50% of the leaderboard, instead of the top 10%. Also the time you need to beat, is the time you race against.
**Aero7V7 has confirmed that the "Special Events" category also qualifies for the trophy, where you might have an additional opportunity to get this***
This trophy is skill based, but with a couple tricks, you can tilt it in your favour.
#1) Upgrade your car. - Go into the Career Rally and enter it with the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2. Doesn't matter about winning, it's just about the km's you will drive. The more you drive, the more engine research you will obtain. (To fully max out the engine it is approximately 5 events - it randomizes the events and the stages within, so there is no definitive amount of stages/events to accomplish.) You only need to have the second upgrade if you are really good, but the more you have the better. Once the research is done, go to the Garage section of the My Team Tab, select the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 with X. Hit R1 to tab over to the "Engine" section and purchase the maximum upgrade you have unlocked. They get a little pricey when you get to the last couple, but you will cut down anywhere between 15 to 30 seconds in your time, so it's well worth the price.
#2) Find the right tuning setup for your driving style. - Everyone drives slightly different, and whether or not you are rocking a steering wheel, or just the DS4, changes the way you play.
Credit goes to pol.hope for this setup which will be used as the starting point. (Mainly because it's a really solid setup, and I tweaked very little)
Alignment- leave default
Brakes
Braking Force -3012.00 N-m (lower by one notch to the left if too sensitive for you)
Brake bias- 50%
Differential
Front Lsd driving lock- 36%
Front lsd braking lock-20%
Front lsd preload- 0.00N-m
Centre viscous diff - 16kgf-m/100rpm. (Move the slider to the right if you find the car too loose on rotation)
Centre torque bias- 55%
Rear lsd driving lock- 50%
Rear lsd braking lock - 45%
Rear lsd preload - 0.00 N-m
Gearing
Gears 1-4 all default
5th gear- 1.024
Final drive - 0.207 (140mph+ for fast stages, lower as required)
Damping - leave default
Springs
Front ride height-8mm
Front spring rate- 84.27 N/mm
Front anti roll bar- 15.00 N/mm
Rear ride height- 10.00 mm
Rear spring rate- 71.6 N/mm
Rear anti roll bar- 13.50 N/mm
Now you may find you want to change how it drives into corners, or how it handles on straightaways. So play with these settings a bit and find what suits you best. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time for tweaking while you are researching upgrades for your car.
#3) Practice the rally course that is in the daily event, before you do it! - This is the absolute most important tip I will give here and I have not seen this tip anywhere else. You can actually see all of the rally courses that are in the daily events. Go to https://dirtrally2.com/community-events ... from there you can see the type of Daily Events that are happening, along with the specific rally courses, the amount of racers that day, and you can do easy math to figure out what time you need to beat, to be in the top tier. So make a custom event on the specific rally course, and practice, practice, practice!
#4) Soft Tyres and no spares. - Why? Because you only need the tyres for one event, so they might as well have the most grip you can get. Why no spares, well because of two reasons. One, it makes you lighter, braking is more efficient, handling is better, and that 20kg makes a difference. Two, because if you blow a tire, it's a wipe. The chances of you actually getting top tier is bare minimum, if not impossible, at that point, so don't bother having a spare.
#5) Caution over aggression. - I say this coming from experience. This trophy took me two attempts to obtain. During the first attempt, I had practiced the event, I knew the time I needed, and I was in the final section of the course. At that moment, I was about 5 seconds faster than my best run during the practice. However, instead of playing some corners a bit safer, I rushed and clipped the edge of the road, which hurled my car and busted my front tyre. So unfortunately I didn't make my time. Learn from that mistake and if you have the time where things are looking good, play a little bit more cautiously, and pay attention to your co-driver's directions. Plain and simple, a clean run is always faster than a reckless run.
This trophy will just require a little dedication to some, so if you are still feeling a little uneasy after all of these tips, just keep practicing, because the more you drive the better you will be.
Best of luck!

Oh wow, then that must have been patched, cause that didn't work when I tried one and was in top tier. Good to know! I'll update the guide. Thanks and glad the guide helped!

I see, that's good news ! Perhaps the patch was part of the latest Colin McRae DLC which released in late March ? Thanks again for the info, and glad I was able to contribute to your comprehensive guide too ! Hopefully it will help even more players get this trophy moving forward. Cheers !

I have a full video guide on this Achievement here, with tips for every location, including Scotland:

As this is a skill-based Achievement you will need to be reasonably quick with this car to achieve a Top Tier result, and it is a rather difficult car to drive. Due to the dynamic nature of driving games there are no hard-and-fast guaranteed ways to finish in the Top Tier, but here are a few tips:
> Upgrade the engine of your car. 04/16/19. An update was released after which the trophy earned.
For those who want to get this trophy, I advise you to do the following: we need to know what track, what time of day, what the weather is and most importantly what kind of road surface: dry or wet it will be on the day the daily event we need is released. To do this, create a second account, go into the game on it, then into the daily event we need and look at the name of the track and all its characteristics. After the above steps, we return to our account and in CUSTOM races we create the race we need, in which we begin to train for a long time and tediously. When you realize that you have learned the route well, only then go to the daily event. Be sure to use soft tires.

The trophy dropped after completing the Daily Delta, these are competitions in which there are only Tier 1 and Tier 2. Getting into the top 50% is easier than getting into the top 10% in a regular Daily Challenge

You don't have to create a second account to watch the track. You can start a race, view all the track parameters while loading, and exit the game before the race starts

It is better to shift the balance in the Central differential and brakes as far as possible to the front axle. In the game settings, select the playstation only option in the leaderboard (helps remove racers from other platforms). If there is a steering wheel, limit the turn out to 540 degrees. Machine settings can be found here https://youtu.be/N0XPe8qc7uw

"In the game settings, select the playstation only option in the leaderboard (helps remove racers from other platforms)."
THE HINT IS WRONG!
Choosing “playstation only”, of course, hides the display of racers from other platforms, but this is of no use, since the overall standings still apply to all platforms (I myself was in the 10% with playstation only, but did not receive a trophy). Then I specifically checked from two accounts (with playstation only and without this option) - the scoring time is the same everywhere and is taken into account according to the general list.
Also, when playstation only is turned on, it is impossible to understand in advance what the “passing” time is. To find out the time for Tier 1 in the general list, you need to divide the total number of participants by 10. If 2500 people took part, then only the first 250 places go to Tier 1.
