How to unlock the Greece Lightning achievement in DiRT Rally 2.0 - Definitive Guide

Easier than it sounds. Go into 'Custom Championships', set up a single stage championship selecting one of the longest available (~6.6 km). Set difficulty to the lowest setting (0 = very easy), and select whatever car class you prefer.

Using the R5 class, I used one of my vehicles that had the highest engine performance modes unlocked. With each waypoint, I was able to pick up about 8 to 12 seconds lead on my AI leading time. This was enough to win the stage overall by more than 1:00.

I'd recommend setting it up to be at least 2 long stages. Then you don't have to be perfect and you can use a car that's not fully upgraded and not have to worry about retrying as long as you're gaining 30 seconds per stage.

Good call there - I didn't realize my impatience to get it done in one stage was making it tougher than I needed it to be.

Did this in the PUG 205 in manual with no assists. Finished 1:45 ahead.

I highly recommend rallying in Greece with the Audi S1... Some of the most fun I have had in this game. For the easy snag, like the user above, I recommend the Pug 205. Super easy to drive, not too fast not too slow. I was able to get -1:45 as well in 1 stage

Finally popped. Found it easiest in DS 21 since it’s very slow and used stage Anodou Farmakas (9.60 km). Track goes uphill so it’s harder to fall off and you don’t have to worry too much about braking all the time. Was -2:03 faster on 1st try.

ok, I just passed it.

BUT

when I had a single stage, I didn't get over 1 minute advantage.

Only when I set up the rally for TWO stage, one on the route over 9km and in it I had a 1: 10min advantage and the second route was 5km +. I had 20 seconds of advantage in it.

all in all I finished the rally consisting of TWO stages with a 1:30 minute advantage over the second place and I got the achievement

Thank you for this. I would never have got this without the guide 👍
I used the FWD H2 VW for this as I find the slower the car, the higher the time advantage.

if the achievement you do not pop.

Then set the rally on TWO stages.

first for over 9km get an advantage over the second place over 1 minute

and the second stages choose some short, which is 5km and win it on the 1st place.

After finishing the TWO stages you will be on the podium and the achievement will be unlocked

After completing many rallies I didn't unlock achievements, only when I set the rally on TWO stages unlocked the first time

This one isn't as hard as it sounds as it's "Hardcore Damage" you need to activate NOT Hardcore Difficulty.

Go to "Custom Events" and create a single race event in Greece (obviously). The best track to use is "Perasma Platani". Because this is the longest track (6.64 miles), it gives you the best chance of getting ahead by a large time/distance. Second thing to do is choose car class "FWD H1". These cars always seem to be slow competition. I chose the 1960's Mini Cooper S as it was the most nimble. Don't forget to put difficulty down to easiest too. I had several crashes and still won by 1m:15s.
