How to unlock the 4 achievement in Dirt Rally - Definitive Guide

You will most likely get this through natural play but if you are specifically going for this you can follow the guidelines set out in the following:

DiRT RallyPass the Sauce AriThe Pass the Sauce Ari achievement in DiRT Rally worth 66 pointsFully upgrade the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2.

You will need 3 Engineers (with 2 Perks each) in order to do this in a reasonably quick amount of time. If you don't have 3 Engineers you can simply run more stages until you have a car fully upgraded.

The best way to complete this is to create a Custom Career Championship with 12 Stages. With 3 Engineers apply the following Perks:

5% reduced upgrade times - Peugeot 205 T16
10% reduced upgrade times - Peugeot 205 T16
5% reduced upgrade times - French Manufactured Vehicles
10% reduced upgrade times - French Manufactured Vehicles
5% reduced upgrade times - Group B (4WD) Vehicles
10% reduced upgrade times - Group B (4WD) Vehicles

The car will be fully upgraded once you complete the Event.
Simply repeat this process 4 times with cars in different classes (adjusting the Perks as necessary) and you will have the Achievement.

The classes are, I believe, FWD, RWD, 4WD and Rallycross. However, I had upgraded all four types of car, and still the achievement wouldn't pop.

I believe, that each type of drive (if you can call Rallycross that?) has to be from a separate vehicle class. I had FWD and RWD class cars upgraded in the same class (1960s cars), and I think the achievement tracker only counted FWD one. As soon as I upgraded another RWD car from another class (1970s), the achievement popped.

For the rallycross car, I used a FWD car from the Rallycross 1600s class.

Some great information here, thank you. I do believe however that it may be worth stating the 4 vehicle classes for those unsure like I was as I couldn't work out was the last class was. For anyone wondering they are as followed:

FWD
RWD
4WD
Rallycross

No. Those are not classes. I have those and didn't get it. Classes are actually tabs where you choose cars from. For instance Rallycross Classics and Rallycross 1600 are two different classes.

Which rallycross car do I need? I did one from the first category and all I got was the FWD achievement. I am doing Super Rallycross and if I don't get it now, I might actually lose it.

Is there a way to AVOID this achievement? I don't want to have odd Gamerscore value again.

For anyone looking at this still, I can confirm the original solution is correct and those suggesting in the comments the classes are FWD, RWD, 4WD and Rallycross are incorrect. I just got this with no Rallycross car and 2 4WD cars. The 2 4WD cars being from Group B (4WD) and Group A.

There is a way to avoid this achievement. Don’t start the game.

You will eventually get this as you play. Just be sure to drive vehicles from 4 different classes. No matter what place you get in the events.

This should come naturally as you complete the game as a minimum of 4 vehicles are required to be fully upgraded for other trophies on this list.

Buy four cars of different classes. Ride them online, go through championships and they will improve over time.
