How to unlock the Dependable achievement in Dirt Rally - Definitive Guide
Your biggest challenge will be avoiding totalling the car, aka go off the track at some point where your car cannot be recovered. That's the end of the whole event for you. Also, if you receive terminal damage in some vital component of the car (you've probably experienced this after crashing really hard and losing both front wheels for example) you won't be able to finish as well.
Therefore, going at a 75% speed is more than advisable, so you can avoid crashing hard or totalling. If you end up having some parts damaged nevertheless, such the engine and the intercooler, don't hesitate to receive a penalty in the service area for going over the half hour mark. It's preferable to just finish with more time on the clock than having the engine fail on you in the last few stages.
So back off the throttle, maximise the repairs and you will be able to finish and get the achievement.
Similar to the trophy for weekly events, here you will need to complete a monthly event. Again, finishing position is irrelevant in unlocking this trophy. Monthly events consist of 24 stages spread across several of the rallying locations.
Unlike rallying in the career or custom championships, your vehicle will not automatically be repaired to 100% condition as you change location. Instead, you have to manually repair your vehicle using the allotted time constraints after every second stage. This is where the element of difficulty lies with this particular trophy. You really need to baby your car throughout each stage as there are no restarts. Heavily crashing early on in the event might not present an immediate problem, but it may rear its head towards the end of the monthly event as your repair priorities and time constraints become more limited. In terms of prioritising repair time, you should focus upon: Engine, Driveshaft and Tyres; as these items can cause your car to retire if they reach critical condition.
You should also avoid driving flat out in areas of high risk. If your car falls off a cliff and cannot be recovered, that’s it. Your monthly event is over until next month (at least in theory).
So the gist of the weekly and monthly events is basically to drive slowly and take care of your car at the expense of setting a fast time. After all, completing the event is all it takes to unlock this trophy.
Keep in mind that an exploit exists with the weekly and monthly events which allows you to restart an event if you mess up. If your car receives too much damage or cannot be recovered, you can quickly quit the game and reboot it to be returned to the event immediately after your last service area repair session. As long as you were able to quit the game before it autosaved or communicated with the RaceNet servers, you will be able to continue. Please note that this method only works with the weekly and monthly events. Quitting the game mid event in any of the daily events will lock you out of that event.
Therefore, first it is advisable:
- level up the main mechanic to at least level 50-65
- hire three of the best mechanics (it is advisable to open at least one bonus each)
- before the start of the race, we look at what kind of car it is and assign appropriate bonuses to the mechanics
in this case, if there are no major accidents, you will finish your meal without any problems.
You can also exit after every second race and save. That is, it is not necessary to go through all the special stages at once - you can stretch out the “fun” for the whole month.
ZY There is also a little trick - if you crashed your car badly or even flew into a ditch, you can exit through the PS button during the race (the main thing is before the final result is shown) and then when you enter the game you will continue from the last checkpoint (after every second special stage)
