How to unlock the Well Funded achievement in Dishonored 2 - Definitive Guide

An interesting fact that I noted during a no powers run was that if you refuse powers at the beginning of the game, each subsequent Rune that you pick up during your playthrough then gives you 200 coins. This is very helpful if you're going for this trophy.

The trophy unlocks at 18,000 gold, regardless of which mission you happen to hit this mark at. It is suggested that you do a no powers playthough, while also collecting all of the paintings (200 gold per painting) during the same playthrough. Even with a no powers playthrough, the heart will still point out the runes on the map to you.

If you concentrate on ONLY Runes and Paintings, you're looking at around 14,400 gold, which leaves approx. 3600 gold leftover to find during the course of the 9 missions. 3600 is chump change across 9 missions and is very easy to get, even if all you manage to do is loot/pickpocket bodies.

Below, I have listed out the gold totals as well as Rune/Painting totals in each mission for reference.

Mission 1: 1490 Gold / 0 Runes / 2 Paintings
Mission 2: 5154 Gold / 9 Runes / 4 Paintings
Mission 3: 3406 Gold / 6 Runes / 3 Paintings
Mission 4: 6003 Gold / 6 Runes / 6 Paintings
Mission 5: 5068 Gold / 6 Runes / 3 Paintings
Mission 6: 4973 Gold / 5 Runes / 3 Paintings
Mission 7: 3934 Gold / 3 Runes / 2 Paintings
Mission 8: 5430 Gold / 5 Runes / 3 Paintings
Mission 9: 3562 Gold / 5 Runes / 1 Painting

It IS possible to unlock this as early as the end of mission 5 if you just go all out and search everywhere and collect every possible piece of gold, as well as the collectibles to go along with it in those first five missions. I personally did not go all out and ended up getting this at the beginning of Mission 8.

Below is also a video by Random Chievo's showing the location of all of the Paintings

Does spending coin count against you for the trophy? I'm guessing it doesn't, but I figured I'd ask.

I do not believe that spending money counts against it, you just need to obtain it during your playthrough.

This achievement is reasonably straight forward. Collect every bit of money and loot that you can. It is greatly aided by the vision upgrade which lets you see key objects and spot those little bits of loot hidden in corners, drawers, secret rooms, etc.

Emily's pull upgrade which lets her grab objects from a distance can help with this, particularly if you're focused on a stealth run. This achievement is almost certainly easier to get in a non-stealth kill everything in your path run, since it allows you to search for loot more leisurely.

The achievement will unlock the moment you get 60% (presumably by value); it unlocked for me about midway through the 7th chapter, when I'd been fairly thoroughly getting maybe 90% per chapter up to that point.

This achievement is highly missable! It's strongly recommended to work on this during a lethal, powered High Chaos playthrough so that you have access to Blink/Dark Vision and do not have to worry about the risk of being caught when thoroughly searching every nook and cranny of a mission.

Right off the bat, it's worth noting that all loot sources (minus food) net coin. This includes paintings, ornamental items (bath salts, processed whale oil, tyvian ore, etc.) pick pocketing guards, silver and gold ingots, and coins themselves. It's also worth noting how many coins there are for mission:

  • Mission 1, A Long Day in Dunwall - 1490 coins
  • Mission 2, Edge of the World - 3854 coins
  • Mission 3, The Good Doctor - 2206 coins
  • Mission 4, The Clockwork Mansion - 4802 coins
  • Mission 5, The Royal Conservatory - 3868 coins
  • Mission 6, The Dust District - 3973 coins
  • Mission 7, A crack in the slab - 3334 coins
  • Mission 8, The Grand palace - 4430 coins
  • Mission 9, Death To The Empress - 2562 coins

This translates to there being a total of 29,799 coins in the game. For the purposes of this achievement, you must find/earn at least 18,000 coins before the end of your playthrough. During the post-mission stat board you will be shown how many coins you collected versus how many were in the mission. As a general rule of thumb, you should try to earn at least 60% of the total coin in every mission. Additionally, the Dark Vision ability, specifically its upgrade, Greater Dark Vision, will allow you to see objects through walls; Greater Dark Vision will prove to be incredibly useful when scavenging for loot sources and coin.

You can track your total amount of coin earned by entering the "Playthrough" tab under the "Stats" option in the pause menu, and then referring to the "Economy" stat. Once you have amassed at least 18,000 coin in a single playthrough, this achievement will unlock.

The trophy dropped at the end of the 6th chapter, when I took the 2nd paintings in the room above the wailing bar, went through with magic, the main thing is to try to collect everything to the maximum - coins, all sorts of artifacts, paintings, search the corpses, the video from Harry was very helpful in this matter. Also You don’t have to save money - spend it boldly, the main thing is to get 18,000 in statistics in this walkthrough.

The easiest way to collect it is when passing without magic. (for each rune they give 200 coins) + collect paintings.
In total you can collect 45 runes (this will be half of the required amount) + 27 paintings (another 5,400 gold). As a result, 3,600 remain, which are easily collected in the first 5 levels. You just loot corpses and clean safes.

it’s realistic to complete mission 5 by the end, taking into account that you collected runes and paintings + drawings and the coins and treasures themselves in previous levels.

For this trophy, only gold is considered - you need to find at least 18 thousand.

If you play without the Outsider mark, then all collected runes turn into 200 gold points each.

I recommend leveling up Dark Vision > see objects as early as possible

It should be in your pocket!!! Completed the game 2 times, spending money, the trophy didn’t drop, don’t spend it the third time, after reaching 18,000 you got a trophy

Dimas86rus's hint is not correct, or this is some kind of bug.
I played through the game and constantly spent money, the trophy dropped when I reached 18k, while there were only 9k available

Incorrect hint above.
In total you need to collect 18k coins, not gold bars (total in the game there are about 30,000 coins and change)
Proof
Coins can be obtained from paintings, runes (if you decide to complete the game without abilities), robbing black markets, from NPC wallets, from other valuable items on the level and scattered coins.
18k should not be in your pocket, but earned in total during the game, I spent it all on upgrades and got it in mission 6.
