This achievement is missable and will naturally be paired with a Low Chaos playthrough.

Completing an entire playthrough without killing a single individual will test your mettle, though it's not overly difficult to those who are patient and methodical. Do take note that the achievement description specifies "anyone," indicating human enemies such as the Howlers, the Grand Guard, the Overseers, and Witches cannot be killed. Killing Clockwork Soldiers, hounds, rats, and/or bloodflies will not count against you, though.

Unfortunately, there aren't many gadgets and equipment items to deal with hostiles non-lethally. Your main "weapons" on this playthrough will be sleeping bolts and your hands (knocking people out by holding ). In my personal opinion, though, it's best to avoid contact altogether and simply sneak your way around enemies during missions. As a result, this achievement is best stacked with "Ghost." If you do happen to accidentally kill an enemy, you can reload your latest save and carry on.

Here a few additional tips for this achievement, most of which detail the non-lethal methods in dealing each mission's targets.

  • Save often, be it a manual save or quick save, even if it's every five minutes.
  • Take extra care with knocked-out enemies; if left in a puddle of water, unconscious enemies can die.
  • On Mission 3, follow the solution for "Counter-serum" in order to eliminate Dr. Hypatia non-lethally.
  • On Mission 4, reconfigure the machinery inside Jindosh's lab so that once the man has been knocked out, you can eliminate him once and for all via the lobotomy mechanism.
  • On Mission 5, there are two Witches in an alley near the Conservatory. If you knock them out and then use the Oracular device to eliminate Ashworth, the two Witches will die for an unknown, unscripted reason (mostly a glitch). Leave these Witches alone as to avoid their potential deaths.
  • On Mission 5, make your way to the topmost floor of the Conservatory and loot Ashworth's lab/office. You're looking for the lens; install the new lens into the Oracular device in the atrium in order to eliminate Ashworth non-lethally.
  • On Mission 6, either follow the solution for "Eureka" or side with the Howlers by eliminating Vice Overseer Byrne. Do not side with the Overseers on this playthrough as that involves killing Paolo.
  • On Mission 7, spare Stilton's life by rendering him unconscious (a sleeping dart will do just fine) once you manage to track him down inside the manor.
  • On Mission 8, there are two smugglers near a beached ship before you reach the streets of the city. If you do not knock them out right away, they will automatically die if you trigger the dialogue with the woman/captain who is locked out of the Black Market shop.
  • On Mission 8, locate the body double in the Grand Palace (his location is randomized each playthrough between the fourth floor office, the room above his main chambers on the fifth and sixth floor, the private gardens, or the throne room on the second floor) and engage in dialogue. Agree to help expose the Duke. You'll then be tasked with bringing the real Duke to his bed chamber as to arrest him. Make your way to his location, subdue the Duke with a sleeping bolt, and stealthily bring him back up the his bed chamber.
  • On Mission 9, enter Emily's safe room and then make your way into Jessamine's secret chamber. Here, you will eventually find a shrine on the far right side of the chamber. There is a note on how to create corrupt Bonecharms. Craft the corrupt Bonecharm at this shrine, return to the throne room, place the corrupt Bonecharm on the throne, and then use the Heart on Delilah (just hold while standing behind her). Now follow her into the painting and once you've found her (she is directly above you on the rocks when you enter the painting), knock her out and return her to the throne room. Place her on the throne and she will be sucked back into her painted world.

As a final note, it's worth mentioning that during the post-mission stat board you will be shown three stats for lethality and stealth. For the purposes of this achievement, you will want to make sure the "Merciful - Didn't kill anyone" stat is checked off. So long as that stat is checked off at the end of all nine missions, you will unlock this achievement when the final cutscene begins to play.

At any time you can see if you have violated the terms of this trophy - press START and go to Statistics. You should have zero kills in the first two tabs.

Does not count as murder:
  • Killing rats
  • Killing wasps and hives
  • Killing the Mechanical Guardians
  • Killing witches through changing lenses (chapter 5)
  • Killing enemies with a white wolfhound (Changeable Beasts amulet)
  • Killing the wolfhounds themselves
Counts as murder
  • Light wall recalibration

I’ll add a hint from vladpeople: if you bypass the witches, then the murders do not count.

in mission No. 5, after activating the switch with the lens, one witch died, who was standing inside the courtyard on the head of a turtle statue. died of natural causes, passed out and hit the ground with her head. however, statistics did not count her death and the trophy was received

Footzker's hint is partially incorrect.
You can recalibrate the light wall; I personally did this in Chapter 4 when entering the station. Received the Clean Hands trophy.
The point is not precisely in the calibration of the wall, but in the fact that if a soldier gets into such a wall, it will be considered as a murder, and if no one enters this wall, then it will NOT be considered as a murder. Moreover, it is always possible to look at the number of murders and detections in statistics

Let me add that if the enemy fell from the cliff himself, this does not count.

I had a situation at the Adermir Institute. The guard was standing right next to the cliff, I threw the bottle behind him, he turned around, got scared and fell off the cliff. It was fun, I didn't bother rebooting. As a result, the kill was not counted at the end of the level.

The tip from Footrzker is partially incorrect. In the 5th chapter, “magic water dogs” appear, so you can’t kill them either

If you stun and then hide the input, then it’s murder.

1. You can kill wolfhounds, corpse wasps and their nests, rats, sentry soldiers.
2. To save Dr. Hypatia, you need to talk to her, then, in her room, go up to the half-dead dude, he will tell you how to prepare the antidote, then quietly walk, prepare the antidote, return, get stunned, and that’s it.
3. To remove the witch, Delilah’s assistant (I don’t remember the name), you need to go to the sisters of the oracle, they are in the library, there you read the book/notes and so on, you’ll understand later.
4. The Duke's double in the chambers, the real one on the floor below. (at least it was like that for me, I don’t know if it could be different)
5. To remove Delilah without killing her. Need to:
5.1. When you enter the building, crawl into the main hall, there at the very top there will be a door to the royal chambers, go in, go straight, then there will be another corridor. on the left where the sentry soldier will walk, there will be two rooms, go into one, there will be a whip sitting there, talk to him about life, then you will understand what to do.
5. 2. ATTENTION! to simplify your task, after entering the picture, do not run to the throne, you will be burned and you will be in trouble, turn right almost immediately, right again and run to the end, climb up, stun it. The rest is clear.

In the 5th mission, Royal Cabinet of Curiosities, a bug is possible when, when using the Oracle (with replaced lenses) to take away magic from Brianna Ashworth, after the animation, the statistics show those killed in battle (usually 1 or 2 people). This can happen even when the car is idling. One good person from the site gamemag.ru under the nickname Smitt found a solution. I'll copy his post below:
In general, if there are people here who play without killing at all, be careful in mission 5, I had the following bug: when starting the car in order to take away the strength of the target, two witches died somewhere in the location, they turned out to be the very first ones you meet in the first half Alley locations. He went like this - he put them not far from the car, shot them with a dart with sleeping pills, started the car, and stuffed more sleeping pills into the corpses. As a result, they are still dead, but they are not in the counter. You may want to avoid them altogether when passing.

Kills do NOT count towards: killing corpse wasps, rats, mechanical guards and wolfhounds.

Kills using light walls and alarm systems count towards the counter, so there's no need to recalibrate them. If you killed an enemy on a hill and he fell, it's worth checking - most likely he died and his death also went into the counter.

In any case, I recommend checking your statistics more often, because a couple of times during the game 1-2 dead suddenly appeared and I had to load almost from the beginning of the level.
