My only complaint is that the description of the achievement is misleading.

Anton Sokolov is responsible for "The Outsider in Conditional Dreams" found in Mission 1 and Luca Abele is responsible for "Luca Abele, Self Portrait" in Mission 3, yet both of those paintings are required in order to unlock the achievement.

It unlocked for me. It might be glitched. Replaying missions does count & make sure you save after collecting each painting.

1st one is actually missable, Daud takes it if you free him before grabbing it.

Actually first painting is not needed for this achievement. I missed first one that but picked rest paintings, achievement unlocked when grabbing last in Chapter 3. Seems that Daud takes care of first if missed and painting will appear in your ship.

Hey D34dBodyMan, I was wondering the same thing. After I won the auction, the painting just disappeared. After searching around I found that the painting actually moved to the left - there's a lady at the table with the poppy tincture. It is to the left of her. Once I picked it up, the achievement popped b/c I had the rest of the paintings.

This achievement is missable and must be done over the course of a single playthrough.

In total, there are eight paintings scattered throughout first three missions of the game. With the exception of one painting in the third mission, which requires you to complete a specific side objective, all of the other collectibles can be found without any prerequisites. Do keep in mind, though, that collectible progress is only saved when you trigger an auto-save or make a manual save; if you die without saving, you will have to recollect the painting(s).

You probably didn’t take the first one, but according to the plot, Daud tore it off

The first painting does not need to be collected; it counts even if Daoud takes it.
