There are 16 trials in all - 10 normal with 6 expert. The 6 expert are higher difficulty versions of the normal ones. You need 30K to clear 3 stars. Generally better stealth and finishing fast nets you the most.

I found this videos very useful. These are the Experts runs by somethingwugga on youtube.

Even easier for kill cascade is if you go to right above the first drop down (right after the 3rd guy), double jump and blink to the boat and then blink forward 5x. Takes a bit of practice and timing, but you make the last target barely but get 42k points for it roughly, so it's guaranteed 3 stars if you can pull it off really.

How do you do Oil Drop for 3 stars? All the video guides I can find are for the PC which is much easier to aim with a mouse. This game mode is literally the last challenge I need to pop this achievement.

Never mind I finally got it after 5 hours. 2nd hardest challenge for me.

Thanks for the videos! I'd like to add that if anyone is taking too much damage in any of the challenges, load up a campaign save and go into the options menu and change your difficulty to Easy, then back out, it should auto save. It seems the campaign difficulty affects these challenges. It's a must for those having trouble with Oil Drop!! ...if you watch videos and see how little damage they take in comparison to you this is why.

Holy shit every single challenge is RNG dependent and they modified how the controls work to make the challenges even harder. Kill Cascade showcases ALL OF THE BULLSHIT WITH IT.
Hit registration? 10% ARE READ.
Jump registration. 40% of your inputs are read.
Plunge attacks? 5% are read.
They also changed how blink works, theres a 50% chance you will bounce off whatever's you are blinking towards and also teleport you to a location that wasn't being shown.
This is horrid and the people who came up with are hopefully living in a cardboard box right now.
Can also confirm that the Whalers will stop spawning on Expert Bonfires but only after abunch of restarts I was doing the level for over an hour.
