How to unlock the Enough Coin to Disappear achievement in Dishonored Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

I stumbled on this solution for the original Xbox 360 version:
Solution for Enough Coin to Disappear In Dishonored

It suggested that low chaos is not necessary. You could complete Witches of Brigmore in high chaos and as long as you finish with 10000+ coins you will still get this achievement.

I can certainly confirm that this worked for me on the Xbox One Definitive Edition. I killed just about every enemy, I got the high chaos ending, and the achievement popped.

At the start of the DLC I imported my low chaos save from The Knife of Dunwall because I finished it with just over 4000 coins.

There must have been some recent changes, because ManicMetalhead is the most recent to confirm that starting a new game with no previous save data, you will begin with 3200 coins and 6-7 runes.
Necrolampoon has confirmed that you can still get the achievement by beginning the DLC without importing a profile from KoD (in which case you begin with 3000 coins) and still killing everyone you see. JJ Nerdstrong has confirmed that if you start with a new game in this DLC, and DO NOT import a previous save, then when you collect your gear from the chest at the start you will be given 3000 coins.

From what I have read elsewhere there is about 7700 in the entire DLC. So as long as you explore almost every area you'll get over 10000 even without importing, but obviously having more to start with does make it slightly easier and reduces the margin for missing out.

BaldyGamer has also confirmed that you can earn the achievement by loading a high chaos save from KoD and finishing in high chaos.

For me this achievement popped along with the high chaos ending achievement (All Come To Ruin) during the credits.

I checked it before, but nothing. :( Maybe I was distracted.

Meanwhile I finished the game on Xbox 360. I can confirm if you load your High Chaos game then the first level will be High Chaos, but from the prison level you can play trough the entire DLC on Low Chaos and you will earn all Low Chaos achievement at the end (low chaos, ghost, no kill etc.).

I'm not sure where you're getting starting the dlc with 3000 coins. I started with only 2000 so it wouldn't be possible for me unless I did the high chaos run in KoD first.

I had imported my low chaos save. When I started the DLC I had 200 coins then went to the chest to grab the gear, checked inventory again and I had 2200 coins.

Thanks for getting back. Could you try not importing any save (new game) to see what happens?

Ok, the guide is right. If you start a new game, you get 3000 when you grab your gear from the chest. But when I imported my save from KoD, none of my coins had transferred over so I only get 2000 if I import my save.

That's really good to know. Thank you for taking the time to check that out. I'll update the guide to make it really clear. Good luck getting the achievement!

Restarted my KoD save on the 2nd mission and went high chaos and looted everything. Started BW with about 5200 coins. Makes this a lot easier.

It still works. The achievement popped when I finished a high chaos playthrough, imported from a high chaos playthrough.

That's good to hear. I'd like to add your confirmation to the solution. Can you confirm that you started with 3000 coins?

To confirm the above, I tried starting a new game from no save data, you get given 3200 coins and 6-7 runes

@ManicMetalhead: There must have been some changes from previously starting with 3000 coins, so I've updated the solution; I didn't know about the runes either. Thank you for letting everyone know.

This unlocked for me on a high chaos run as I had much more coins in that run from the Knife of Dunwall. I had only just about over 10k coins and it popped once the credits rolled.

7/21/23 and this achievement still pops in a High Chaos play through. Was a high chaos knife of Dunwall import as well. The achievement pops just after Corvo slits your throat and the credits roll.

Thanks to everyone for continuing to confirm that it still works at regular intervals. It is very helpful for others about to embark on the DLC and to know that they're not going to be wasting their time.

Can confirm that as of 26.07.23 it still works doing this on a high chaos run. I used this guide (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=63565...,a%20pouch%20beneath%20the%20bench.&text=Straight%20ahead%2C%20in%20the%20library,pouch%20on%20the%20first%20desk.&text=Once%20you're%20done%20here,and%20talk%20to%20the%20assassin.) for all the coin locations for the DW

I guess you're referring to the Changed Ways achievement here (finish Brirmore Witches in Low Chaos)? I can't confirm it myself, nor for Xbox One, but someone asked the same question in an Xbox 360 thread about three years ago and they confirmed it can still be done. That is, you can finish in Low Chaos by loading a High Chaos save from the main game. Check it yourself here:

11 feb 2016 this still works. However; my game glitched out at some points. I did the whole game on high chaos . I killed every one i saw . But in the last mission i killed 12 witches and neutralized eliliah usuing the nonlethal method. I got the low chaos ending and enough coins to disapear after credit. I dont know how but it happened to me.

@JJ Nerdstrong: Thanks for the feedback. That's not good to hear. I was only passing on information confirmed from others because I imported a save. It's possible it has been changed, but my understanding is that if you start WITHOUT importing a save from Knife of Dunwall then when you go to the room upstairs to collect your gear from the chest it will contain 3000 coins. But if that doesn't work, and you have completed KoD with 3000+ coins, then your coins will carry over. Remember you can earn this achievement by importing a high or low chaos save and doing this DLC in high chaos too. As long as you have 10000+ coins at the end then you will unlock this achievement.

However, it would help if you could confirm that a new save now only contains 2000 coins so I can update the guide. It'll be a real shame if that is the case.

The easiest way to do this without having to thoroughly search every area is to first do a Knife of Dunwall run on any chaos level while saving all of the coins and importing that save in the Brigmore Witches. If done correctly, you can finish The Knife of Dunwall with just shy of 7,500 coins with the remaining amount easy to acquire if you want to do this on a no kill/no alert playthrough. A breakdown of the total coins you can get is as follows:

The Knife of Dunwall
Starting Money: 2,000
A Captain of Industry: 1,553 (2,053 If you help Abigail Ames; If you hide bodies correctly can still be accomplished on a no kill play through)
Additionally, salvaging butcher equipment can net you between 200-260 coins
Eminent Domain: 3,169
The Surge: 0
Total: ~7,400

The Brigmore Witches
Choosing Your Mark: 500
A Stay of Execution for Lizzy: 1,655
The Dead Eels: 3,520
Delilah's Masterwork: 2,030
Total: ~7,700

Total: ~15,100

With this, you can buy a few favors or upgrades to help out your play style. This breakdown can give you an idea of if you need to search a level a little bit more or move on to the next.

For my play through, I did a high chaos run through the Knife of Dunwall killing anyone and anything and collected around 7,200 coins. I then ran through the Brigmore Witches dlc without killing anyone while still buying the boot upgrades to help with stealth to give me a low chaos ending. On the way I only grabbed money I ran into finishing with just shy of 11,000 coins.
