How to unlock the Dunwall in Chaos achievement in Dishonored - Definitive Guide

Just brutalise as many people as possible using all means - assisted suicide, grenades, pistols, knife, crossbow etc etc.... The more death the better! If you have loads of rats within your game almost following you around (that's what it feels like!) eating everyone you'll be well on your way to achieving this.

I'd like to know why this was negged. I've not completed the game yet so I will not vote yet--however I am following the advice by killing and brutalizing everyone.

No idea. It's really quite simple. Low Chaos = Stealthy play, high chaos = brutal killing play.

So since I already beat the game, does this mean I have to get this achievement using the replay mission option? And if so, can I skip around in the mission order?

It's a replay as mission select won't unlock other achievements, such as this one or stealthy ones or the like.

While the "low chaos" achievement and "Clean Hands", etc., clearly necessitate a stealthy style of play from beginning to end, it seems like this achievement could be obtained with less work. If your first playthrough was stealhty, you should be able to go back a couple of missions (or more?) to a previous save, and play forward from there, killing everyone in sight and raising the chaos level to "High" before the end of the game. Keeps you from having to play the entire story twice. The only question is... how far back do I have to go? How many missions does it take to raise your chaos level sufficiently?

PuckJunkie, did you ever figure out how far back you had to go?

I just wanted to add that I started the last mission on Kingsparrow Island in low chaos and made an extra save file. On one, I finished it in low chaos, (and got the achievement) but on the other save, I killed every single person in the level and ended in high chaos. However, it still showed the low chaos ending and I didn't get the high chaos achievement. So I think the starting chaos level determines it. Either that or if you have one achievement, it doesn't let you get the other without doing another playthrough of the game.

I hedged all the way through just on the edge of going over to high chaos with 10 or 12 kills per mission until the Flooded District where I wiped out everyone including 5 civilians but was still Low Chaos. Then I had Pierro fry everyone with the arc pylon and that put me over to High Chaos at the start of Kingsparrow Island which popped the achievement at the end.

Dunwall in Chaos.
Complete the game in high chaos. Just murder your way through the game, the more evil you are, the better. Unlocks on the "bad" ending.

It does not require high chaos on all missions. Just got the trophy and only had high chaos on the last three missions.

Alright Hoitech, I really appreciate the help. I'll give it a try after I finish my quick stealth run through (again) ugh!

I read from another walkthrough website IGN that the chaos is caculated on a 4:5 or 5:4 ratio. If 4 low chaos & 5 high chaos than High, while 5 low chaos & 4 high chaos than Low.

That's helpful, so it sounds like the general consensus is 5-9 on high chaos.

sorry, comp down for a while. Personally, i was evil on every level, and played on hard, but other posters claim to have gotten it only on the last few missions. good luck.

It unlocks on the ending. The alternate "just dark enough" ( dunwall in low chaos) achievement is the same way, meaning you will need to play the game through at least twice, but its a very enjoyable game and quite different based on your approachs.

perhaps, I always do multiple playthroughs, i know i was very violent on this particular playthrough. You also may have to assassinate every target as well to get this.

It's weird; I loaded up 7-9 and didnt get it as well. Jake, did you have low chaos for the previous few missions? It's probably because the chaos doesn't apply for ech seperate mission, but the entire game itself. So with that, you should start from mission 5 and that would guarantee the cheevo.

I'm curious as to what level I'd need to start in at to get this. Could I just load up level 6 say and kill everything until the end? I tried level 7-9 earlier and it did not grant me the achievement. Anyone else have any insight?

As well as the advice above, remember to not use Shadow Kill. Making the bodies go away is actually a Low Chaos option. Rewiring the technology helps too.
