How to unlock the Headhunter achievement in Dishonored - Definitive Guide

There is a glitch that allows you to skip the final room, which I found to be the hardest room of them all. This glitch is very easy to pull off, I did it on my first try and got the achievement this way. Just blink to the top of the bookcase with candles on it to the left of the exit in the final room, walk forward slightly into the white area, then blink to the right towards the exit.

By skipping the last room, you're left with just the stair guy in the fifth room as the only real hurdle. Everyone else is pretty easy to deal with after a little practice. I recommend following Coopa's video posted in SlightlyErotic's solution for the rest of the rooms as these strategies are consistent and easy to do with a little practice.

Skip to 3:25 in the video to see the glitch. I take no credit for discovering this, I found it posted on x360a by xK Marcus.

Is it just me, or does it not give you headshot credit sometimes? Seems to happen with me on the staircase guy far too often. I've googled every possible technique, and it doesn't give me the bloody headshot.

Yeah that's fairly common. The only advice I can give you is to aim higher than you think to compensate for the drop.

So glad this glitch still works, would've been a huge pain otherwise. Thank you so much for this clap

I'm so glad this is done. The first time I got to the staircase guy with 100% headshot, I got him on the first try using the tips in the other solution video.
Also, this glitch is awesome.

This glitch was a mother&@*%! lifesaver. After the staircase guy, shooting dudes in the head who know where I am and are throwing shit at me was damn near the hardest part of this whole stupid thing, so skipping three guys doing that, with at least two of them at once, was a massive improvement in strategy. PS, to hell with this crappy DLC.

I can confirm that this glitch still works as of July 22nd, 2014.

Thank you SO much for posting this. After spending the better part of my day going for this achievement, I once again reached the last room, but before I stepped inside I decided to check TA, instead of only YT guides. Tried this and got it first try. Thumbs up from me! smile

Got this thanks to the videos today, thanks for the tips.

The glitch didn't work the first time I tried it (had 17/17 with 100% accuracy but no achievement), it did however, work the second time...maybe I missed a shot on the first run and the stats weren't accurate...which does happen in this DLC sometimes (Once the brawl challenge said I had 51 kills before I died and 63 on the stats screen). So if it doesn't work for you try again...I know the guy on the stairs sucks monkey nuts, use the bottom spike of the crosshair to judge your shot when he's walking up the right side of the steps....pull the trigger when his head hits the tip of this crosshair spike, this worked for me 4/5 attempts at head-shoting him.

Just so you know, you don't even need Blink for this glitch.

Just try to "climb" up the metal door that blocks the exit, Corvo will phase through the doorframe above.

Still doesn't help me, if I can't kill the stair-guy... -.-

IS there a good way to take down the Assassin's in the room with three doors that open? I use the void sight power to see where they are, but I can never seem to head-shot the second assassin in one try.

The skip of the 5th room is fantastic. Got this within 45 mins.

Yoooo finally got that achievement ! At the end i was going mad but the advice i could give you is zoom only for the weepers and for the 5th room (hostage and stairs guy)
Because if you don't zoom and you are close to your target it will auto aim to their head so i kinda rush it at the end cause i was mad at that challenge and didn't give a fuck but it worked !

The staircase guy gave me such a headache. The way I ended up doing it is by jumping on the windowsill of the window furthest to the right, then crouching and moving all the way to the right. I could only see a small part of the staircase that way but I was 100% sure I was in the exact same spot every single time.

When aiming there are some floating rocks in the background (not the moving ones, these are in the background behind the staircase) I would use those to allign my shot. By using the exact same shooting position and using the background to line up my shot I finally managed to get my first headshot on that fucking bastard! The next room should be a breeze but I've never been more nervous about making a headshot laugh

Video IS UP! Credit goes for ***Coopa Bruzz*** for recording it HOWEVER the guide down below shows my technique on how I got mine which shows a bit different ways to do the kills.
Useful Tips:

-Always hide in the behind rooms to kill those that are in the followed! or get above the roof.

-The way I killed the Zombies is I aimed by hitting double x and waited for
every single one to swallow twice then shot.

-The stair guy is annoying took me three minutes of thinking before I do my shot aim in the middle of the stairs and see the time that the dude go straight ahead for 1 second then make his U turn to the left in this time just aim with double x and wit for him to do more than 2 cycle take your time no rush then shot above his head NOT on it exactly as the arrow will go down in air.

Got this thanks to the videos today, thanks for the tips.

PS I found that by using the tip of bottom spike of the crosshair as the reticle for the guy on the stairs makes this easier than trying to guess the timing...worked most of the time for me.

Thanks for the video. Together with the glitch from the video in the other guide, I found your advice to use book cases in rooms 1, 3 and 4 (crates in room 4 I suppose) to turn enemies into unaware fools very helpful.

Thumbs up. As a point of clarification, the arrows do not 'go down in air.' You can see this when you shoot the assassin with the target. If you aim center head, the arrow will strike true. The reason you aim above the assassin on the stairs is because the arrow takes time to reach the target. So, you have to account for the movement between the time you fire and the time the arrow hits.

Unlike the video, I used the left window for both shots. The video overcomplicates the stair shot. It is easiest to take the shot when the assassin's back is to you and he is climbing almost vertically from your perspective. Put the reticle on the staircase making sure that when the assassin walks through it a red dot appears in the middle of his head. Then, take your shot when his head is two steps below the dot in the center of the reticle.

I found some useful tips to get this done;

Turn FOV to lowest, this will make your zoom and aim even better.

Use the goggles (ALT by default) and sometimes also aim further by pressing F in the goggles.

Use the vision thing as much as you can and need, this way you can see the enemies.

Take your time, do it slow.

Practice, Practice & Practice, this guide is only as good as you are, if you can't aim for sh*t, go through the mission a few times and practice each section so that you can get consistent at getting headshots.

Be aware that enemy spawn locations change from attempt to attempt, so just make sure you keep an eye out for where the civilian is, and where the assassins are. Some spawn setups make the achievement far more difficult than others.

Awesome guide showing a solid method, and a great glitch/bug. Credit: xK Marcus.
