How to unlock the Mostly Flesh and Steel achievement in Dishonored - Definitive Guide

Confirmed - you may purchase weapon and equipment upgrades from Piero.
YES! You CAN use Bone Charms!

The only upgrades that void the achievement are the ones you purchase with runes. Blink 1 is given to you, that is the only one you can use. Purchasing Blink 2 will void this achievement.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

@Althax, this achievement is about not purchasing powers, not sure why you'd associate it with using sleep darts. The answer is yes, you can use any weapon.

Oh my God. I have played though most of this game now with nothing but Blink 2! Time to start buying other powers now I guess!

has anyone gotten Ghost and Shadow while doing this achievement? I want to know if it's possible before I start the trio on one playthrough.

Yes, I got Ghost, Shadow, and Mostly Flesh and Steel all in the same playthrough. I would suggest on the second run after knowing what to look for and knowing what to do for each level.

You can get Ghost, Shadow, and Mostly Flesh and Steel in a single playthrough but you're setting yourself up for save/reload hell because of the alerts. Best do the no powers run for High Chaos and the others for Low Chaos.

One important thing people should know for this achievement. Even though the description says, "...besides Blink", purchasing the upgrade to the Blink power counts against getting this achievement. Don't buy it or any other powers or enhancements under the "Powers" menu. I only discovered the Blink factoid after already clearing half the game with the Blink level 2 purchased. :/

Other than that, this achievement is pretty straight forward. I would recommend going for this one on a run through where you're not totally restricted from killing like some of the other achievements require and play on the easy difficulty.

Have fun. ;)

Good info. Hope you get the achievement someday. This game was a Redbox rental for me, so it's going to be a while before I come back to it.

I wish I would have read your solution sooner, I just finished the game with Blink level 2. Needless to say, I was expecting this achievement to pop as soon as I finished. It looks like another case of a poorly worded achievement description, Fuck!

Under the Powers menu it say "powers" for the top half and "enhancements" for the bottom. Not really sure how people are finding that part confusing. The only thing that should really confuse anyone is the Blink aspect of the description. Still I guess I'll adjust the solution so it's a little clearer.

I just completed the game & thought I hadn't purchased a thing, but somehow Blink Lvl.2 was purchase and I didn't remember doing it and I didn't get the flesh achievement. So Blink upgrade does count

Ya it threw me for a loop at first too, but I took a second to dissect what it meant lol it says to finish the game without purchasing any supernatural powers OR enhancements, besides Blink.
The only thing that confused me was where it says enhancements, I did not know if it meant the quipment and bone charms as well. But yeah it just means any supernatural powers or supernatural enhancements, but if you can use bone charms and equipment upgrades like the gent mentions above then that's pretty cool, an thank god cause that would've been a bit boring ish lol

Just to make it perfectly clear, the guides above are great, but the main thing you need to know is that you CANNOT spend RUNES on anything!!!

As stated above, Bone charms are fine, and you can spend as much COIN as you want with either Piero or Griff on ammo, blueprints, GEAR upgrades, and potions....

Pick up all the runes you want, just don't spend them...

Like Pink Floyd sang in Brick in the Wall, "Hey teacher!!! Leave the POWERS tab alone!!!"

You can purchase weapon and equipment upgrades from Piero and you CAN use Bone Charms!

The only upgrades that void the achievement are the ones you purchase with runes. Blink 1 is given to you, that is the only one you can use. Purchasing Blink 2 will void this achievement.

Basically, DO NOT purchase ANY powers from the menu. Powers cost Runes, so you have a better idea of what they are, and by don't purchase any, I also mean do not upgrade Blink. Thankfully, you can upgrade your regular equipment, such as your crossbow, mask, etc. Please see "Ghost" achievement description for links on how this is all best accomplished.
