How to unlock the Occultist achievement in Dishonored - Definitive Guide

To unlock this achievement you must collect 10 Bone Charms scattered throughout the World.

After you complete the prologue and go to sleep at the Hound Pits after meeting with the Loyalists, you will be transported to an alternate dimension and gifted by the Outsider with the power to Blink and also a very important item for this achievement, The Heart. It will show you to Runes (used to upgrade powers) and importantly, Bone Charms. These Bone Charms will give small benefits such as making opponents have a chance to miss with their pistols, and making potions restore more Mana. Until you buy upgrades from Piero, you'll only be able to equip 3 at a time.

As you play through the game, make sure to periodically equip the Heart and collect any nearby Bone Charms. After you pick up the 10th one, the achievement will pop. You do not have to equip them. I got this achievement by about the 5th Mission

While the above solution is fine, I was able to get this achievement very early on. After you are given the ability to use Blink and learn how to use the Heart, you will wake up in the Hound Pits pub. In the same room you wake up in there are ten bone charms. I believe they are on two tables and a shelf, either way you should have no trouble finding them.


** My thanks to Rebsothoth for pointing out my mistake. It appears that this solution only works if you have "Void Walker's Arsenal" DLC. My apologies for any confusion.**

Apologies for the downvote, but you forgot to mention that those extra bone charms are only available if you've purchased the "Void Walker's Arsenal" DLC. This DLC includes bone charms that were previously only available as preorder bonuses from various retailers, as well as statues that give you additional bone charm slots and bonus coins. If you managed to find these in Corvo's Room *without* purchasing the DLC, congrats on finding a glitch. Please let me know how you did it! XD

So thats why I found these 10 in my chamber while playing the Definite Edition shock
And I thought I had just luck. laugh

There are many Bone Charms throughout the game, but you can find your first 10 in the first two levels of the game by simply equipping the heart via and observe the location of any runes or charms on your screen. The locations are only visible in the area that you are in, so if you go through a loading screen into a new area, be sure to use the heart first and foremost to see if you will come across and charms. This will unlock during the Golden Cat mission if you didn't miss any charms.
