How to unlock the The Escapist achievement in Dishonored - Definitive Guide

The easiest place to get this achievement, I felt, was by loading the mission The Loyalists. If you want, you can improve your movement speed by buying the Agility II power, equipping your Fleet Fighter bone charm, and using Blink II, However, I was able to do this with weapons sheathed just by running, breaking line of sight and hiding, as follows:

Right in the beginning of the level, as soon as you leave the apartment, there will be three guards talking in front of the pub. Immediately run straight at them, getting their attention, and into the front door of the pub. Inside the front door to the pub will be two more guards. Those are the five you need to notice you, right there at the beginning of the level.

Turn right and quickly run up to the second floor of the pub. Run past Pendleton and Haverlock's office into the Barracks (the room with all the bunk beds) and then into the bathroom. Go stealth and close the door behind you. Then just wait. When they can't find you, the achievement will pop.

That's all there is to it! By the way, you can also use this strategy to get five guards to notice you for the Cleaner achievement.

This one worked for me first time. The achievement unlocks when your pursuers get tired and give up their search. They don't seem to check that bathroom. Thanks for posting.

For this achievement you need to elude 5 people without killing them or leaving the map. i chose the distillery district as by the 2nd wall of light there's plenty of guards and thugs.

when i had the guards on my tail i ran down the alleyway to the left and ran into some thugs who started fighting the guards which helped my escape.

i've uploaded a video to help aswell [=

I actually got this on accident when i was spotted and I kept posessing guards then choking them out so I guess you could just start a fight with 5 guards and knock them out instead of running.

For this achievement, you must attract the attention of 5 enemies and escape peacefully. If you have the Level 1 Possession ability, as an alternative to the other very good solutions here, you can drop into the courtyard of The Golden Cat bathhouse in Mission 3. Run around for a few seconds and the guards will begin to chase you.

Just to the left of The Golden Cat, past the cylindrical tower, is a small staircase leading down to the water. If you face the tower and jump into the water, you'll see a hookah beneath the drainage grate, and just past that is a fish. (He moves around, so you may have to look for him a little.) Use Possession on the fish and swim into the drain. Since the guards are looking for an assassin in a metal mask and not a fish, they'll give up the chase. You can surface safely inside the ladies' room of The Golden Cat, where some courtesans are too busy putting on makeup to notice a fish magically turning into a man.

Although I already had the achievements at the time, this should also get you "Alive Without Breath" for possessing a fish, and if you stay in the drain for at least 3 minutes, "Inhabitant". I believe you could also use a similar technique in Mission 2, using rats and one of the many tunnels available.

You need to be in an area with concentrated enemies. The last part of Mission 2 works well. Get on the roof using the crater on the left, after the man and his dog walk by. Make your way across the rooftops and look in the skylights as you go. If you see a sleeping dog, you are almost there. The building you want is the bunkhouse. There is an open window just below roof level and a pipe to stand on. You should see three overseers discussing the plague. Equip a grenade and throw it inside and it will probably hit a beam and not kill anyone. The three people will run out of the building to get help but will not come back inside. The trophy should pop once enough people are looking for you. Just stay in the building and loot the place.

High Chaos

You must have 5 people actually pursuing you. They must be alerted and in attack mode. When the game says do not leave the map, it means do not go to a door or area that makes the game load another part of the map you can't visually see. There are plenty of places to get this achievement, just count your guards or allow them to sound an alarm (better yet, sound it yourself).
