How to unlock the Insect Inspector achievement in Disney Fairies Hidden Treasures - Definitive Guide

This achievement is glitchy.

You can find a beetle in each area. Clicking on the area where the beetle is does not count. You have to click the beetle, and make him give that pikmin-like sound, indicating you've found them.

Area #1 Tinkers' Nook: Behind the giant snail shell in the middle foreground. You can't get him before moving the thistle.
Area #2 Autumn Forest: Behind the white trunk of the tree, sticking out from the left side of the trunk, just below one of the butterfly cocoons.
Area #3 Sunflower Gully: Top left of the screen, behind the bottom part of a slightly broken sunflower stem.
Area #4 Buttercup Canyon: Right in the top right corner, hiding behind the right side of the thick part of the flower stalk, just below the flower head.
Area #5 Needlepoint Meadow: Top left corner, just below and to the right of the top left-most butterfly cocoon, hiding inside the dandelion's spores.

Remember, you MUST click the water beetles themselves, NOT the area they're in. Click the area to make them appear, and THEN click the water beetle to make them do that pikmin-like sound.

This achievement IS glitchy.

I dont know why u think it isnt! Just cos it didnt glitch for you doesnt mean it wont for others. It did glitch for me even after following your guide and there are lots of ppl that it glitched for too. Also the proof is that the completion percentage for this achievement goes all over the place. Mine was stuck at 0%, then jumped to 60%, then to 40%, then it unlocked?!?!

Pro Tip: If you miss them, replay the levels, follow the guide to click them a few times, then click the map to exit out. Although it says it doesn't save progress, it still saves you clicking the bug...unless it glitches I guess.

As the achievement says there is 1 beetle in each of the 5 locations in the Saving Spring DLC.

I had played through the DLC twice and the achievement did not pop either time, I'm also aware of other people having trouble popping this achievement too.

How I got it in the end was to choose the replay option for the first scene, click on the water beetle a load of times then quit the scene and rinse and repeat through each of the five scenes and it finally popped on the 5th scene.

I think the achievement is a bit picky about where you click on the screen so make sure you click on the water beetle, he should make a noise, and not just the area where he hides.

I messaged GH05T SN1P3R 92, who unlocked it first, after I had failed to unlock the achievement and he said he played the game normally and waited until Tinkerbell said about being followed by the water beetle before clicking on it.

NutriWhip said: I just got it but it didn't pop on the last beetle until I had actually clicked directly on the beetle like you mentioned and Tinker Bell finished her saying so you might want to mention that. I also played on a new game so that might help others as well.

I'll give these a try -- I've found the bugs, but aren't getting the achievement.

But for a real solution, you might want to list where the 5 bugs are actually located.

Okay... just got it. The key seems to be that sometimes when you click on the bug, he will nod his head and 'giggle' at you. That's the key that he has found them.

You can definitely do this on an old save game, and you don't need to do the bugs in order: I got the achievement on the bug on the 2nd chapter when replaying all of the scenes.

I think the in-game achievement pane correctly tracks progress -- I was at 20% when I started hunting, and was at 80% just before getting the achievement.

After spending almost 2 hours trying to get this, Mike Marcelais' comment is what got it to work for me, the key being they must nod their head, not just make the sound and Tinkerbell talk about it, they must actually nod their head at you.

I'd love to know how you quit a scene

spoke too soon... who'd think to look for a quit button in a compass?

anyway - the game does not correctly track the % for this achievement. It was at 40% for me when it popped. The key is to click them when they are in hiding not when you can see them.

I would say it doesn't. I had my percent bounce around from 0% to 60% and then back to 20% where it stayed there forever until I unlocked the achievement.

This achievement was a pain in the butt, but here is what I did to get it. You don't click the water beetle when it pops up, you click the spot in front of what it is hiding behind. When you do it will pop out of hiding and nod its head up and down to say you found it, at which point I clicked on it while it was nodding.

Finally popped, I was just doing it wrong. Hopefully helps others having trouble.
