*Edit* Looks like this achievement is much easier now as you only need to get 5x combo instead of 10. If you can't get 5 you really should stop playing computer games.
First thing to note here is that you do not need to replay Needlepoint Meadow to reattempt this. You can just select the game from the area select screen just to the right of the Needlepoint Meadow.
There are 3 waves here and trying to get a x10 combo is far easier on the third wave. The best method I found was setting up near the top in the middle of the screen and then zig zag your way down once there are plenty of thistles on the screen using power-ups if they are available.
The requirement of this wave is 40 so just quit collecting thistles if you fail to get the x10 combo by about 30. You will then get an attempt to retry that wave once it finishes. Much quicker then starting from wave one each time.

This achievement is a pain in the ass. I find this goes much easier if you put cheese the mouse in the middle gap at the top of the screen. The thistles won't escape over the grassy segments, That way they bundle near the top of the screen and give you higher odds of getting ten at once.

I did what dwaggie done but slightly to one side. the thistles all group up and got the 10 on my 1st attempt. is quite a annoying achievement
