You get medals from completing objectives on tour races (currently there is the Starter Tour and the Season Tour), generally each race has three that can be earned. Complete 50 objectives to earn 50 medals and the achivement.

I think in my case I have a problem because the achievements in the in-game section I have unlocked a few. However, I still have 0/1000 in the console.

It's bugged for me as well as I got it in game and the achievement hasnt popped outside and it updated twice since it went free to play and hasn't popped since

Desde la última actualización el progreso de los logros está bugueados. Ok,es gratis el juego pero es penoso que pase esto a algo que lleva la marca Disney. Espero que lo solucionen pronto.
