How to unlock the Champion of the Universe achievement in Disney Universe - Definitive Guide

This post by Skyripper gives a detailed formula for what is needed for a Gold medal. You'll need both costumes and all 9 collectibles, plus a high final score. The final score is based on number of blue stars collected, challenge trophies, enemies defeated, and gold collected. It appears that number of respawns actually has no effect besides making it more difficult to accumulate gold.

According to the formula, the contribution from enemies and gold maxes out at 85 and 1800 respectively. As suggested by Tyrantus / GeeksDontLie, several stages have infinitely spawning enemies if you hold off on defeating the final boss. That was the case with all Pirate stages.

Enemies also continue to spawn at the end of Wall-E Abandoned Earth if you don't free the guest. Just walk back to the left and you'll find them. At the end of Wall-E Axiom Belowdecks, you can open the airlock on the far left and new enemies will spawn (stand at the bottom of the screen so you don't get sucked out).

With these tricks I only needed a 3rd try at PotC Queen Anne's Revenge (because I didn't use the infinite spawn the first two times) and Aladdin Cave of Wonders (because I missed the 3rd blue star my first two times through). As far as I know, there isn't an infinite spawn at the end of Cave of Wonders, so you may need to get lucky with the challenge trophies, make sure to get the 3rd blue star, and try to pick up gold while running from the lava.

If there are other good infinite spawns, please comment and I will add them, with credit.

Oops cut my comment. I got 129 kills going into the final part with 1850 in gold. Only had to worry about getting star and arcade challenge before the wave

Great solution, helped a lot!

Also, I'd like to say that it's easier when going solo. On coop the upgrades follow you, as there are the 'evil upgrades' that make things harder. And there's no friendly fire :P

So I avg about 1200 to 1500 gold, I get all 3 stars, and 3 of the challenges gold. My deaths are usually under 8, I know prob doesnt count, but still. 100+ kills and I get gold....but I know if I miss a challenge I wont get gold

This is an awesome solution. I randomly got two gold medals in Pirates while playing co-op with my girlfriend. But I didn't know how I got it. I used the formula as stated to replay the mermaid level, 85/1800, 3 blues and won 2 arcades and it popped my first gold achievement. I've since completed Alice in gold and will continue using this method to grind myself to the 1K. Thanks!

Great solution I was trying o keep my deaths low and was getting golds but now I've been dying without worry. I was having trouble with cave of wonders also. I restarted the level(usually twice) until I got the big guys that spit out the tiny ones and just killed the little guys until he stopped spawning. When he does no new enemies will spawn for the rest of the level including challenges, making them VERY EASY to win. I got 52 kills in the first part. Repeated for the 2nd part and got Great solution I was trying o keep my deaths low and was getting golds but now I've been dying without worry. I was having trouble with cave of wonders also. just an addition to MathGuy42's solution above.

It appears that the grades stack too for example:
I only got a bronze 1st time I played PotC Queen Anne's Revenge even with the formula showing i had 100%

The second time I played PotC Queen Anne's Revenge the formula was only about 75-80% completion which is about a silver grade.

The silver and the bronze added together to make a gold at the end of the level.

So the second part of getting gold is SILVER + BRONZE = GOLD
and vice versa

@Unfcnbleevibl - that's known as an untested theory, based on your first world experience. :) I can guarantee you that "just playing through each level twice" will not guarantee you the Gold. In most cases, yes, if you get all the enemies, collectibles, stars and challenges, the two play throughs will be enough to get the Gold, but if you miss something, you'll end up with Silver after the second play through. Even now, I have to replay Cave of Wonders - I have all the collectibles and got all the stars but got unlucky with challenges and lost each one, and I died a lot in the last section, and ended up with Silver - despite playing through twice.

@chaotikilla I think the thing missing in the basic formula is that you need both costumes - without collecting the second costume (which is only available on the second play through) you're not "completing" that level.

From what I can tell just playing through the each level twice will get you the Gold. I've just started playing the game and I beat the first Pirates level (all 3 mini levels) and had a bronze for the world and a silver for the level. Played the same level again, and ended up with a Gold for the level and a Bronze for the world. Did the same thing with the next Pirates level, and once again, playing through the first time got me a Silver for level and was still at a Bronze for the world, beat it a second time and its became a gold for the level and a Silver for the world. Same thing happened with the last Pirates. The world didn't turn Gold till I played through it and beat it a 2nd time.

So my guess is that in order to get gold, you have to beat the levels at least twice. Granted I did kill all the enemies, got all 3 blue stars, and beat the challenge each time I played the level. But its not like I did anything different.

This will be obtained on your second playthrough. Grades are based on how many enemies you've defeated, how many coins you collected, the number of HEX challenges you completed, stars you collected and number of respawns. I believe freeing the second Guest affects this grade as well as I have beaten a world on my first playthrough with no deaths and got everything and I still ended up with a Silver Grade. Doing the above must be done in every world at every location for the trophy to pop.

You are more than likely to get this on your second play through of each location. Grades are based upon the enemies you’ve defeated, coins and stars collected, and challenges completed. (Respawns do not count.) It combines both of your playthroughs together to give you an overall score. It can also give you a gold ranking when you're looking at the location, even though you only scored a silver or bronze in the level.
Do this in every world and the achievement is yours.

I advise you to remember everything on the 1st playthrough and don’t be stupid on the 2nd playthrough

For gold you need to kill more, collect more gold, win challenges, collect 3 stars and die no more than 3 or 4 times. Gold for the overall completion will be given when you collect all 27 collectibles and free 2 guests

I found the “formula” for getting a gold medal! You need to score 100% for the level:
collect 1600 gold = 40%; plus another 200 gold = 45% (no more)
defeat 70 enemies = 30%; plus 15 more enemies = 35% (no more)
slot machine winnings in one mini-game = 5%
blue star = 5% each
Thus, for the maximum level you can score 110%. You can die more than 3-4 times, but the main thing is to have time to collect the gold that will fall out of you in case of death, which, unfortunately, is not always possible (((And of course you must have collected all the collectibles on the level.
This will make it easier for you to track the possibility of receiving a medal before the end of the level)))

To get a gold medal you need to pass all the tests, as well as collect all the collectibles and stars. As far as I understand, the number of rebirths and killed enemies is not taken into account.
