How to unlock the His Father's Son achievement in Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

When I got this, I waited at the archway where the Shriekers were and used a ranged attack to draw Alexander to me. By Alexander's third turn, a giant void worm will appear. It will take the attention of most of the magisters. The worm isn't strong enough to fight off all of them, so let the magisters kill it and use the time it takes for them to do it killing all the melee enemies. Once Alexander dies, whether the battle ends or not, you will get the achievement.

As I took the route of burning him down instead, I'll pop my strategy in as a comment here.

I took the side route (east), that was cleared of Shriekers by Slane but you can use the Purging Wand or Tyrant's Helm to clear them yourself if you didn't free Slane.

From the vantage point of the eastern side, it blocks you off from their caster and gives you height advantage for, at the very least, the first round. Immediately gain control of the battlefield however your party is set up to do so and teleport Alexandar up to you. Once he's near you, burn him down with everything you have (I personally had a half physical, half magical party so I just went to town on him with my mages' status effects while my physical units held the front line).

Once the wyrm pops up, he should be relatively close to death if not dead already, depending on how well you did. He tells you to fight together but just destroy him and his cronies, then take down the wyrm. My character never would have sided with him so it made sense for my party to not relent.

Attention! This tip is part of the Guide to completing the "Valor" difficulty level.
On the right side of the gate, there is a place where the statue stands. Around which, a little earlier, you destroyed three Screaming Ones. You place your entire squad on the left side of the statue. This is if you look from the direction of the ledge, from where you destroyed the Screaming. In general, you must stand as a whole squad, face to face, with the statue. Put the teleportation glove on Sebilla. Detach Ifan from the squad and make a save. Then, using the same method, go along the right side towards the enemies. The fight will begin without talking. But it is not important.
The battle!
Ifan retreat to the squad. When enemies approach you, you do not take any actions and the whole squad skips a turn. A Nether Worm will appear. Attention! After this, the Void Worm must make one more move. When this happens, the whole squad goes to two vines and climb up. The rest is simple, but be extremely careful.
Your enemies will attack the worm, and your task is to attack them. Although they will kill the worm faster. All your ranged attacks will have increased damage.
Important! You definitely need to summon Incarnate (put him on the fire) until the Void Worm is killed. Because after killing the worm, the battle may end if the enemies are far away from you. And you will have to load the last save. Therefore, try not to kill the enemy closest to you completely. Yes, and Incarnate, in this case, will allow the battle to continue. I highly recommend focusing on Geist. Because it is a very dangerous creature.
After killing the Nether Worm, enemies will climb up to you. You have the teleportation glove and the corresponding skill. Therefore, you deal with Alexander himself at the top, and everyone else goes down. Don't forget that you need to deal with all enemies at the same time. All.

After the battle, receive this trophy.
