S rank can be achieved in each difficulty for each button mode, and requires 97% accuracy rating. You can go into equipment settings and enable in game accuracy tracking to see your % in real time
This will come faster than you realize if you're going for the 1million combo achievement. Remember that sustained notes need to be released before they end, if you hold them for too long it will drop your rating heavily. This makes some sections a lot harder but is also what, when I realized, let me go back and S rank most of the easy 4 button songs.
I got this while being less than 500,000 combo length, so you wont need to worry about grinding specific songs to get this if you're going for the aforementioned achievement
