You can beat it with your hands, you need wooden armor, at least a spear, a football helmet, a supply of food, heals, fried green mushrooms to raise sanity (or raw blue ones), a thermal stone, a supply of grass and logs for 2-4 regular fires and good fuel for them . You will have to beat him alone for at least a day of playing time, without falling under attacks and without letting your sanity drop; you will not survive the battle with the Cyclops and nightmares.
Simpler options:
1) prepare a chest, signs and place them in the swamps, then chase it along the tentacles until it dies, good skill is required, you yourself can die from the tentacles, spiders, mems and other inhabitants of the swamp, or simply freeze.
2) We put the same sign in the middle of the forest, after the destruction we hit the Cyclops once and chase him through the forest, he will break the trees until the Ents come out. We watch the battle while warming ourselves by the fire, finishing off the survivors.
3) Make 19-20 gunpowder, put it to sleep with a flute and blow it up. Gunpowder deals 200 damage when thrown close. The downside is the loss of an eye and it is unlikely that he will be able to collect so much gunpowder before his first arrival.
4) We lead him to a large herd of beefalo, it is advisable to have a beefalo cap so that they do not attack if the breeding season begins.
5) Drag him into a clearing with a large number of hives of killer bees; if you have several hives and enough honey, you can catch a stack of bees in advance and release them on the Cyclops. If successful, you can destroy the empty hives and collect staff.
6) A large field of fanged traps, drive in circles until it dies. The fang trap does 60 damage, so the field should contain about 70 traps.
