How to unlock the I'm the Man! achievement in DOOM (1993) - Definitive Guide
Here is my full playthrough of the game in under 38 minutes, you have a lot of time to make mistakes and play safer strategies than I do. An interesting thing to take note of is that I pop my achievement after completing E3M3 which suggests that the game saved all of my previous times (they were very slow) and totals them up. Once you have hit 2 hours overall your achievement will unlock. Now this means you could just boot up an episode which was very slow and just speed run that to get better times rather than speed running the entire game again.

Thumbs up and thanks for the video as always. I used nothing but your videos when I played doom 2 xone and arcade. Cant wait for doom 64, hope to see solutions and videos on that one from you too.

The good news is that this can be done on I'm Too Young To Die difficulty and only counts the time from the first 3 episodes.
Here are some speedrun guides. These were not made by me. The first is Episode 1 done in 8 minutes by a YouTube account called Dinglemaniac:
Episode 2 by Lammah on YouTube. This guy does it on Nightmare in under 6 minutes! So you will find it even easier:
Episode 3 by Zero Master in under 4 minutes:
Needless to say you have a lot of room for error. The best advice is to have one save right at the start of a level and another for during the level when you think you're doing well. I did every level under par time and got the achievement so if you're on the same track you'll be fine.
Evil Kenivl has noted that using a secret exit to a hidden level might prevent you from getting this first time. Just use the normal edits when going for the achievement just in case.

Does pausing the game stop the clock?

Just tested this - yeah it does. The game only tallies your level completed times while playing.

You do not need to beat episode 4 Thy Flesh Consumed or any of the secret levels for this achievement just episodes 1, 2 and 3.
This trophy is earned when your collective course times reach under 2 hours and doesn't have to be earned in one go (this popped for me after replaying the first episode and part of the second). You only need to beat the first three episodes as well. Try to shoot for below par or right on time and if you're having trouble, save right before starting a course so you can play it a couple times, learn the layout and finish around par. It should pop when your total time across the three episodes is less than 2 hours.
EDIT: Thanks to Vee-Em-You for clarifying that it is indeed only the first three episodes that count towards the trophy.

You are correct, 4th episode is not counted by this trophy as it is The Ultimate Doom.

Thanks for the clarification! I'll update the solution.
