How to unlock the Gimme Power! achievement in DOOM 3: BFG Edition - Definitive Guide

A fair distance into Doom 3 RoE you have to fight this boss before getting to the next stage so you can't miss this. This is fairly easy you just have to shoot it in the heart when it glows. When it glows just slow time with the artifact, get real close and shoot him in the heart as much as possible. I would suggest the chain gun for this. Eventually its heart will be blocked and he will start shooting fireballs, just hide behind the poles until his heart is unblocked again and repeat what you did earlier. Eventually it will die and you will get your achievement.

Just to add onto this achievement. I don't know if this happened to anyone else. but as i finished the game i looked back at what i missed and it said that i did not gain this achievement....i was confused, since it was part of the story line so i had to replay from an earlier save....sucked but i eventually fought and beat the hunter and the achievement popped! so just in case make sure yours does the same....

half the time I couldnt slow time down so it sucked. They should give this guy more crack and caffeine. i thought you were supposed to throw his fireballs back at him. He is the boss at the end of level 6 erebus right before level 7 phobos lab.

This will be your second boss in the resurrection of evil campaign, and actually comes a decent way into the game. He will appear in Erebus level 6, and you should warrant his appearance by noticing a square room with 4 pillars sticking out of the ground. I would advise going into this battle with the artifact fully charged and readily equipped. This is because the boss is fast and will immediately lunge at you when the fight begins. Therefore when you gain control of your marine immediately activate hell-time with the artifact.

The hunter is VERY quick and can deal some very nasty melee damage therefore you need to use the hell-time power to damage it. The first phase will consist of the hunter encircling it-self with flames and jumping around. While it is doing this you must activate hell time to slow down time and shoot at the hunters glowing red heart in its chest. I recommend the double barrelled shotgun or chain-gun to do this.

Once enough damage has been dealt, the hunter will start charging up fireballs to launch at the player. These will deal ALOT of damage and should be avoided either by strafing or hiding behind the fleshy pillars the game has given you. Eventually it will stop throwing fireballs and start phase 1 again of jumping around. Simply repeat the hell-time ability and shoot at its heart again.

You must complete this cycle about 3-4 times before the hunter will go down for good. Do be careful as the hunter can deal ALOT of damage with his fast jumping attacks and even more damage with his fire balls. There are however pre-dead human corpses within the room to charge up the artifact again, should you need to. Best of luck and remember to keep strafing or at the very least moving to dodge the demons attacks.

Story related, cannot be missed.

The Berserk Hunter shouldn't give much trouble. His heart will open occasionally, when he does this activate Hell Time with the Artifact and shoot him with the Super shotgun as many times as you can. He'll mainly throw Fireballs at you so dodging shouldn't be in issue.

Story related and cannot be missed.

The Berserk Hunter is the second out of three Hunter bosses in RoE.

This boss is more aggressive than the previous boss and has two attacks. One is a leap like melee attack; the other is once again launching fireballs. When the battle starts, use the Bloodstone and continue to fire the Super Shotgun into his heart. It should be noted that he can only be harmed while his chest is open and his heart is exposed and glowing.
