Get 2 demons to fight each other in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission

How to unlock the Turncoat achievement in DOOM 3: BFG Edition - Definitive Guide

In addition to the above solution, the two monsters don't actually have to fight each other, one just has to damage the other. I got this when I was attacked by two cacodemons in a corridor, when a zombie marine entered behind them and tried to shoot me, instead hitting one of the cacodemons. It turned around and the achievement immediately popped.

Edit, Good solution. I just got this again on the 360 version with cacodemons and zombie marine. Shortly after the monorail is unlocked I believe. ***** I got this last night on the xbox one version. My guess is you have better luck if the creatures are different types. I got it without even trying but don't remember the exact level. Some where around the monorail levels. Tight corridors with multiple enemies attacking me.

I don't doubt this worked for you. But I have now have run in circles until a marine killed an imp with a shotgun and I crouched and had an imp throwing fireballs until it killed one of those weird 2 headed dudes that do not take much to kill. Does it take a certain difficulty?

I'm playing on Normal difficulty. Maybe it has something to do with projectile or monster types? In Doom 1 and 2, monsters would only in-fight if they had different weapon types: a chaingun zombie wouldn't attack a spiderdemon boss (both chainguns), and a hellknight wouldn't attack a Baron of Hell (both plasma balls).

That could be true, in my case the Cacodemon immediately turned around and started flying towards the zombie, but I think the achievement popped before it even fired a firebolt. I will update the solution.

There's an easy place to do this over the course of the Doom 3 campaign. When playing through Delta Labs level 2a and coming back from the bio-lab you'll be ambushed by a Revenant and an Imp standing right behind him. All you need to do is stand right in front of the Revenant as the Imp fires and it should unlock.

The video below shows where exactly you get ambushed and how to get it. The video isn't mine and I take no credit for it.

I'm sure the other solutions work for this achievement but this is where I got mine. Thanks, thumbs up from me.

I was able to do this in hell. Get a Hell Knight to follow you when there are a bunch of Imps around also. If you can get the Imps to throw fireballs while the Hell Knight is following you one of the fireballs should eventually hit him and he will flip out and kill the Imp.

An easy spot for this achievement is Level 10: Communications Transfer in Service Tunnels after the second Mars Surface part. The game will autosafe in this part.

After the elevator rises, avoid the zombie, soldier and run to room exit in the right. Outside in the left will be a soldier near a barrel. Run into his position to lure 2 Cacodemons near the Car running. Return to the room and every monster (Imp, Zombie, Soldier, Cacodemon) will try to hit you but without space for it and the game will have a huge slowdown. Dodge a little and the achievement is yours after the Cacodemons tries to hit you but the wall of enemies in front of your character will not let it happen. You will probably die even in the Recruit difficulty level if not using the Plasma Gun.

In DOOM 3 you can get demons to fight each other. This is done by a less powerful enemy accidentally attacking a more powerful enemy. You may get this without even trying or you might not. What you have to do is get, let's say an imp and an arch demon in the same room. If you can line it up so the imp will throw a fireball towards you but then it ends up hitting the arch demon the two will fight, with the Arch Demon winning. There's two good spots for this:

Hell (DOOM 3)

After the fight with the Zombies and Lost Souls you'll enter a room, opposite that room is a cliff gave and behind a rock is the BFG. Run into that area and just sit there, make sure you saved prior to this part. There will be two arch demons that can't fit through the gate (Don't kill them), plus some imps will be on the other side. It won't work every time but just keep pacing back and forward and an imp will most likely hit an Arch Demon. This is a very good spot as the Arch Demon killed two Imps when I did it. You had best do this on Recruit.

Hell (Lost Mission)

Near the end you are going through a sort of castle complex, what you want to do is just keep running around and running towards the next area. They will be tons of demons of all types here and chances are one will hit another. If this trophy doesn't unlock by the time you reach the last boss, reload your save and try again.

This is one gameplay mechanic of Doom that I have always loved. Monster infighting!

The way that infighting works in Doom 3 however is when a lower ranking demon hits a higher ranking one. So for instance, you will need to get an Imp to hit a Cacodemon, in which leads the Cacodemon to destroy the Imp. The Imp most likely will not fight back.

Thanks again to Minahjjang.

Push 2 mobs of different types together. For example, a zombie is coming at you and behind the zombie is an imp, so your task is for the imp to hit the zombie. What happened to me was when I was flying with burning heads and a cacodemon caught its head when shot and that’s all I got
