How to unlock the The Only Thing They Fear Is You achievement in DOOM + DOOM II - Definitive Guide

(Plug a keyboard into your xbox in order to use commands)
DO this on E1M1: Hanger set it to ultra violence and turn on the Invulnerability cheat IDDQD you need 100% kills 100% items (health packs dont count) and 100% secrets.

Do not use IDKFA as it will mess up the 100% counter you have to be exactly at 100% for items secrets and kills.

if you cant pick up anymore ammo use the gun related to that ammo to make more room

just make sure you pick up the blue armor vest last or you wont be able to pick up any more armor.

Heres a video if you dont know where all the secrets in this level are located

How do you go above 100%?

I’ve tried this multiple times on E1M1 can’t get it to pop.

I’ve got all kills items secrets, I’ve picked up and blue armor last after getting everything, even skipping blue armor since it’s not an item - but it’s not popping. Other achievements are unlocking

Okay I got it to pop

What I did was collect everything and all secrets and all kills without taking damage. I quick saved throughout. (And I skipped blue armor)

Then at the end I quick saved at the exit button. Then I just hit end and if it didn’t pop I reloaded and i did this 2-3 times and then it popped.

Good luck!

I was able to unlock this on PC without needing to disable the cheat, before exiting the level. So seems like it's different for each platform.

E1M1 on Ultra-Violence worked for me on PC with IDDQD and without the blue Armor. First Try. Before i did that I tried on Nightmare (Respawn) doing the Rest exactly the same and even after 10-15 reloads it didn't work. Maybe it must really be 100% Kills and not 200-300%. Turning IDDQD off didn't change anything.

I was having trouble unlocking this Xbox Series X, with just 100% kills. So I went on my laptop, and downloaded the game through PC gamepass. (If you have Gamepass Ultimate you get this as part of your sub) Loaded up Hangar on UV. Slapped on IDDQD God Mode. Completed the level with 100% kills ONLY, and it popped on my Xbox, as I still had it on. Perhaps only the Xbox version needs 100% everything?

This seems to be a bit glitchy. On Series X, I got through Doom II Map01 no cheats, no damage, with 100% kills and 100% items and 60% secrets. It didn't pop when exiting the level, but it did when I reloaded my quicksave and immediately exited the level again.

One thing to note if you have an Xbox qwerty chatpad keyboard. (The one that attaches to the a controller) it actually works! Mine is the official one from Microsoft that came out in the Xbox One early days. So not sure if the other licensed ones/third party ones will work, but most likely will.

Did this on E1M1.. I had to re-load and hoover up all the armour shards for it to pop for me - plenty of health left laying around, something like 75% item pick-up only. Or as another comment said, it may simply have been the act of re-loading that sorted out the glitch.

Fuckin' eh for the chatpad. I dropped mine all drunk and the microphone connector doesn't give a good connection anymore, but I love these things. Was super bummed to see Microsoft discontinued them.

I'm guessing accessing the console with a keyboard enabling cheats that way will be fine?

I'm sure the other solutions work fine, but it will probably take you longer to read this guide than it does to actually get the achievement with this method... if you have a keyboard.

Choose Doom II, and select Level 30 Icon of Sin from the Level Select options (or you can start a New Game and input IDCLEV30 on your keyboard to essentially warp there from the beginning). Make sure you choose Ultra-Violence difficulty before starting the game.

Once you're in the intended level, type IDDQD on your keyboard and grab the rocket launcher amongst the weapons in the starting room (or just type IDFA to instantly obtain all weapons), then type IDCLIP. Run straight through the wall where the gray teleporter is, and keep running towards the evil looking face in the wall in the distance. Once you walk through that face in the wall, you'll want to stop immediately, as you'll see a man's face (John Romero, if you're wondering). Simply select your rocket launcher (option 5 on keyboard), and shoot John's face.

The level will end shortly after, and you'll be credited with 100% kills.

Since you had IDDQD active, you didn't take any damage either.

If you hadn't beaten Doom II yet, you'll also get the achievement for doing so.

If you're unclear on anything, please let me know.

Weirdly, this unlocked for me on E2M8 while trying to get the achievement for killing a Cyberdemon with the pistol. I saved repeatedly while wearing it down, then accidentally killed it with a rocket and finished the level. I reloaded my save and tried again after skipping the cutscenes back to the menu (Edit: this seems to be what triggers the bug. Both IchFTW and Azathoth1488 seem to have confirmed it in the comments.), then accidentally killed it again after reloading. This time, however, I didn't take damage from the point where I loaded in to when I killed the Cyberdemon, and this unlocked.

(Fun fact: Lost Souls don't count towards 100% kills. They haven't since very early builds of the game due to bugs that caused Pain Elementals to sometimes generate them out of bounds in Doom 2. They retroactively patched the first game to change that.)

Dude, I tried the exact same thing to get both achievements. I got Shoot It Until It Dies to pop, but not this one.

I thought hmm maybe E2M8 doesn't count as "monster-filled", so I also tried E2M9 and exited the level without taking damage and with 14/14 kills, but still nothing.

The achievements in this game seem to be really buggy. I had a few not track correctly (I couldn't get 100 chainsaw kills until I played the Doom 2 levels, for example) and I had the one for getting an enemy to kill another to unlock on E1M1 when I picked up one of the blue health pickups in the first room. Maybe it was an isolated case when I got this achievement the way I did.

This worked for me. I went straight to E2M8 with UV settings. During the fight I kept quicksaving just in case I take damage. When I took splash damage near a wall I just loaded the quicksave. When I killed the cyberdemon, nothing happened and the level was just over. But then I loaded up the last quicksave from the main menu and killed the cyberdemon for the second time, the achievement popped up. I had 100% kills, 50% items and 100% secrets

I assume they keep track of your damage taken once you enter a new map from another map or the main menu

@IchFTW I'm glad it worked for you. I'm sure this will eventually be fixed in a patch.

To everyone else, if this ever gets patched, let me know and I can edit this solution as soon as possible.

E1M1 didn't pop for me, reloaded saves a dozen times with no results. Did like IchFTW did and load from the main menu, popped immediately.

So, from what IchFTW and Azathoth1488 are both saying, it looks like you have to reload from the main menu. I'm going to edit the solution to add that.

Confirmed. You can also save after killing the cyberdemon as the 4 hanging guys at the end count as "monsters" to kill

Would help to note mouse & keyboard w/ quicksaving / quickloading.

Keep saving when it's safe and when you take damage, reload last quicksave.

This is currently glitched, at least on Series X. I just completed E1M1: Hangar on Ultra-Violence did not get hit once and had 100% kills, items and secrets and achievement did not unlock.

I recommend attempting this on E1M1 (Hangar) in DOOM.

As you must kill all enemies without taking any damage, the key point is to avoid line-of-sight with the zombie soldiers and shotgun guys, as their "hit-scan" attacks have a chance to damage you anytime they can see you. Avoid this by hiding behind walls, doors, etc., only exposing yourself when firing. Prioritize neutralizing the former human enemies, as the imps' fireball attacks are actual objects that can be easily avoided.

(Quick)save after every successful encounter and reload if you take damage. If you reach the exit without 100% kills, consult a level map to make sure you've accessed all of the secret areas that may contain the missing enemies.

Finally, watch out for the damaging green toxic floor halfway through the level. You'll need to run across it to reach an enemy, so aim to cross the narrowest section while running to prevent taking damage.

Good luck!

The easiest way to do it is on E2M8 in the first part. Carefully kill the cyberdemon, lost souls can be safely ignored, they do not count.
Here you can also make a trophy for 200hp/armor at the end of the level and a trophy for killing a cyber with a pistol (we reduce his HP to the maximum with a rocket launcher, then finish him off)

Unlike older versions, using cheats here DOES NOT DISABLE trophies. Feel free to connect your keyboard and mouse and complete the entire game with IDDQD, IDKFA and IDCLIP in an hour.

The trophy is glitchy, 1 mission doom, fly through killing everyone 100% on ultra-violence, the main thing is to have 100 HP, make a quick save before exiting the level, exit the level to the next level, then reload the quick save and exit the level again, the trophy is yours.
