How to unlock the Filling the Trophy Case achievement in DOOM - Definitive Guide

Arcade Mode
Level: Kadingir Sanctum
Difficulty: I'm Too Young To Die
*You don't need to complete the level for the achievement to pop

-Medals-

Multi Kill:
Kill a cluster of lesser demons using the Super Shotgun, Gauss Cannon, a grenade or other explosives.
(Imps, Unwilling, etc.)

Super Kill:
Once you reach the area with the Baron fighting the horde of Unwilling, throw a grenade in that general area. The resulting explosion should kill enough Unwilling to net you a super kill. If you don't get a super kill here, kill all the enemies so the door unlocks and you can progress. Down the hill beyond the door, there is another group of Unwilling. Killing them with a grenade should earn you a super kill.

Barrel Kill:
Kill a demon by shooting a barrel or a mine.
*Keep an eye out for braziers with glowing skulls inside of them. They explode when shot, just like a regular barrel.

Glory Kill:
Perform a glory kill while an enemy is stunned.

Death From Above:
While an enemy is stunned, double jump above them and execute a glory kill.

Head Shot:
The Chaingun, Heavy Assault Rifle, Combat Shotgun, Super Shotgun, Gauss Cannon, Pistol, Plasma Rifle and even the Rocket Launcher are capable of performing head shots.

Stunned Kill:
Bring up the weapon wheel and equip the Plasma Rifle. Then press up on the D-Pad to attach the Stun Bomb mod. Simply hit a demon with the Stun Bomb (left trigger) and kill it while it is stunned.

Mid-Air Kill:
Using Siege Mode on the Gauss Cannon, kill an Imp while it is jumping across a gap or up to a ledge.
*If you're having trouble with the Imps, The SCHWARTZ 00 and Ulck found it far easier to kill a mid-air Revenant instead. According to xBrushedRedx, this also works with Hell Knights.

Direct Hit Kill:
Kill a demon with a direct hit from the Rocket Launcher, or Explosive Shot from the Combat Shotgun.

Triple Hit:
While using the Combat Shotgun, hit up on the D-Pad to attach the Charge Burst. Press and hold left trigger to initiate alt-fire mode, and then fire the gun like normal. Landing all three shots on lesser demons should kill them and net you the medal.
*The Bovine Moos used the Lock-On Burst mod for the Rocket Launcher to earn this medal.

Gold Relic:
Shooting the mines causes them to explode and launch a relic. The relic stays gold for a few seconds, so collect it before it changes color to get this medal.

Silver Relic:
Same as the Gold Relic medal, but wait for the relic to turn silver before collecting it.

Bronze Relic:
After the relic turns silver, wait a little longer for it to turn bronze and then collect it.

Extra Life:
Collecting Doomguy bobbleheads grants you extra lives. They have green auras and are found floating throughout the map.

Guide has been updated to include Direct Hit Kill medal. It should be the last one.

If you make yourself a checklist, you'll be finished way before the end of the level.

Is there a decent spot for the mid-air kill medal? It is the only one I seem to be having trouble with.

For "Triple Hit" - locking onto an enemy with the rocket launcher worked for me.

Thanks. Makes this achievement not as much of a pain in the ass as I thought it was gonna be. Revenants and HellSpawn (whatever the big guys with the white head are called) are good for mid-air kills too. Easier than trying for Imps. But yeah I hadn't played a level other than The UAC in arcade mode and was wondering how I was gonna get some of these medals

I haven't played this yet and maybe I don't remember the main game well, but what do you mean when you say the mines spawn relics when you shoot them. Is that something I will see obviously when I play? I just want to be prepared!

Mines are new to arcade mode, and they sorta look like tiny floating orange sea mines. There are many throughout each level, and when shot, they explode and launch a relic. The relics glow and are highly visible but change color over time. So yes, you will obviously see this when you play.

Achievment pops as soon as you've collected 1 one of each. You don't have to finish the level.

When you finish your run, are you checking the medals section of the results screen to see if you got all 14 medals?

Another easy way to get the super kill. Right after using the jump pad to hit a switch that opens a door. Toss a grenade at the the enemies that come out. They will be bunched together for an easy super kill.

Good guide; Got it on the first try as well. It's a bit easier than it first appears, just remember you're not after score here, so you can take it slow (although it's hardly necessary).

Multikills are also possible with the Super Shotgun. Killed two lesser demons with one trigger pull and earned the medal

If it doesn't pop right away, make sure to wait until your medal streak expires so that it adds them all up. Only then will it count the last medal and pop

There is a exploding "barrel" at the field where the Baron from Hell is fighting the possessed scientists..... shooting it also nets the multi or superkill as well...
Very easy guide, although the glory kill from above is still somewhat difficult.
(Getting the enemy downstair and you glory kill from above in time can be frustrating at times. :P )

Dying seems to reset this, I played and died during the section with the disappearing demons. I know I had all of them up to that point and even went and tried to get a few duplicates was at 75+ and didn't pop when I picked up the 3rd Relic as Bronze. even let it bank. Died again after that missing a jump didn't pop at game end either.

Dying definitely resets your medals. I died twice (used both extra lives) and at the end had all 14 medals. Had to retry

This cheevo is bugged for me. Got every medal, even finished the level and the end screen showed I had at least one of each... still did not unlock.

Edit: Played another round and it finally unlocked. This time I made sure to get more than one of each medal.

I completed this on the level Advanced Research Complex, and personally found it a lot easier than Kadingir Sanctum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyFFVXtkiEY - I used this video guide

The area towards the beginning of the level by the blue skull key door is where I got mine. An imp spawned on one of the floating platforms and jumped across to the other. I nailed him with the gauss cannon while using its siege mode before he landed.

Where is the barrel kill in this level? I missed it on my first run.

EDIT: in case anyone was wondering, the mines count as barrel kills. I got it in the area where you see a Baron fighting off the unwilling, shoot the mine in the center and voilà.

And seconded w/ the Revenant midair medal. Much easier than the imps.

Earn every possible medal in one run of arcade mode!

Choose the level Kadinger Sanctum on the difficulty "I'm Too Young to Die", equip the Charged Burst on the Shotgun, the Tactical Scope on the Heavy Assault Rifle, the Stun Bomb on the Plasma Rifle, Siege Mode on the Gauss Cannon, and go for the medals in more or less this order:

Multi Kill - Walk forward and there are 3 zombies staggering around below, kill the 2 on the right with a grenade and...

Headshot - ...kill the remaining guy with a headshot from the Tactical Scope on the Heavy Assault Rifle.

Glory Kill - Head up the stairs and find 3 zombies at the top, since it's on easy just melee one and he'll start flashing so you can melee again for the glory kill.

Death from Above - Melee the next zombie to get him flashing, double jump, and melee him again from above for the glory kill.

Direct Hit Kill - Switch to the rocket launcher and shoot right at the last zombie (if he's already dead just get one of the guys behind him, just not the Hell Knight).

Mid-Air Kill - Switch to the Gauss Cannon and let the Hell Knight chase you back and forth until he leaps at you, make sure you have the left trigger pressed for siege mode and fire away.

Triple Hit - At this point different enemies might be alive so whoever is left just switch to the shotgun, hold the left trigger again, and shoot one with a Charged Burst shot.

Stunned Kill - Switch to the Plasma Rifle, left trigger to fire a stun bomb at an enemy, finish him off with the right trigger.

Extra Life - Instead of taking the stairs to the area below do a double jump off the ledge and get the Doom Guy doll in the air.

Barrel Kill - Find the floating relic capsule, make sure the Mancubus doesn't shoot it while you shoot a nearby imp until he's flashing. Then hit the relic capsule and when it explodes it will kill the imp and count as a barrel kill. If you miss that, ParadoxReal8 says "there is a barrel when you first see the flying head where there's a cliff you need to jump to go higher" that you can also use to get the medal.

Gold Relic - Get the relic that pops out as fast as you can and it should still be gold.

Silver Relic - Keep going until you see the next floating relic capsule (can't miss it), shoot it and try to get it when it's silver.

Super Kill - Keep going until you come to the red switch after a blue boost ramp, it will open a door below with a green transporter and several zombies inside. Throw a grenade inside and the super kill medal is yours.

Bronze Relic - Keep going until you see the next floating relic capsule and make it a bronze.

Also, z RagnaroK z says apparently "one run" = one life, so if you die you might have to restart or try to finish by using the remaining enemies in the level like he did.

That's it, here's a video of me doing what I explained above:

i just got this and i would like to add something... i had made it mostly through the level... i had 2 gold relics and a bronze... and all the kill medals except the barrel kill. i died. i had this page open and saw that people mentioned it should be done in one life... i respawned anyway (instead of quitting) for the practice... and in the next area i picked up a silver relic and got a barrel kill and the achievement popped (unexpectedly!)... just thought i would share. if you are pretty far through and die, try continuing and finishing what you don't have... nonkoshersalt (above) had this happen to him too... so you might get lucky.

oh p.s. EXCELLENT GUIDE. got everything but a gold relic on my very first run just reading this (had no idea where relics came from)... after watching video, got it on my second run, even with dying.

Only thing I can think of is that the grenade didn’t kill all the zombies, but I think one of the other solutions gives you a different place to try for it if you want a back up.

If by any bad luck, the big ennemy destroy the mine, there is a barrel when you first see the flying head where there's a cliff you need to jump to go higher. Shoot it with a precise weapon and there's a big chance you get your barrel kill. That's how i got mine.

Excellent guide. I would like to point out something interesting that happened on my run.

I managed to get everything up until the super kill (kill 5 with a grenade) and I only managed to get the multi kill out of the 5 possessed next to the green portal. I had the extra life, so I died and respawned. The checkpoint puts you right back at that spot and i managed to get the super kill. However, it does seem like this all must be done in one life because once I got the super kill and the last relic the achievement didn't pop. Luckily this level is packed with enemies and I managed to re do all the medals after the checkpoint and got the achievement. Hope this helps.

To obtain this trophy you need to get one of every medal in one run, which means one individual level. You cannot get this one the first level as you do not have a means of stunning opponents. Heres a list of medals and how to obtain them.

Bonus Life - There's a few of these scattered around the level, usually in plain sight but somewhat out of the way to reach. When the action slows down you climb up or jump to wherever it is.

Bronze Relic - There's these bombs in various parts of the level and aren't really hidden much, when shot they explode destroying many enemies and releasing a Relic, the grade of said relic is dependant on how quickly you pick it up, Bronze is the lowest value so just leave the Relic until it downgrades to Bronze

Silver Relic - Same as above except this time don't wait as long, let it degrade to Silver then pick it up.

Gold Relic - You'll need to pick this up ASAP after destroying the bomb before it degrades to Silver, you have a fair window to get it but my advice is not to blow the bomb until you're close so you don't have far to travel.

Triple Hit - This is one of the 2 attachments for the Shotgun, you'll need to fire a charged triple shot into an enemy for this, it's rather simple.

Mid Air Kill - For this you must kill an enemy while IT is in midair, as enemies can fall quickly and jump up ledges fairly quickly this can be difficult. The easiest way is to get one of the slow possessed to climb up a ledge to you, drop down and wait with the Grenade Launcher on your Shotgun for the moment they begin to climb down, it will count and you get a decent time window to do it.

Stunned Kill - This is why you need to do it a level 2 and beyond as you have access to your Plasma Rifle which has a Stun Grenade attachment, simply stun an enemy and kill them.

Direct Grenade - Using your other Shotgun attachment, the Grenade Launcher, hit an enemy directly with it.

Headshot - Self explanatory, land a headshot

Glory From Above - Perform a Glory Kill from above the enemy, easy to perform from ledges on a wounded enemy but thanks to the double jump you can do this on most regular enemies by just double jumping and the performing the glory.

Glory Kill - Self explanatory, use a glory. Doesn't stack with Glory From Above and must be done separately

Barrel Kill - Kill an enemy by blowing up a barrel near them, there's a lot of opportunities for this in all levels and it's easy to obtain by accident.

Multi Kill - This is obtained for 2+ kills, most common to occur from Barrel Kill, Grenade Launcher shots or the bombs mentioned earlier for Relics.

Super Kill - Honestly forget how many this takes but it's at least 4, again Barrels/Grenades on weak enemies work, BFG on layer levels or the previously mentioned bombs which almost always guarantee a Super.

I did a run on the second level (Resource Management) in which I got all the medals and a gold rating. I did it on Hurt Me Plenty difficulty.

Harris59 has the better guide out of these 2 as he list all of the medals and some tips. My post is just to provide a video guide for people that may be getting stuck:
