How to unlock the Historian achievement in DOOM - Definitive Guide

Doom has over 200 collectibles (79 Secets, 49 Data Logs, 36 Elite Guards, 26 Collectible Doll Models, 12 Rune Trails, 12 Field Drones, 13 Automaps). All collectibles are saved immediately when picked up. Collecting everything will reward you with more than 10 achievements. I have created 100% collectibles guides for each mission. In this guide I will only link to the Data Logs.

If you are interested in the complete guides containing links to every single collectible you can find the playlist here.

For this Achievement you have to collect the 49 Data Logs in the Game. Data Logs are tracked in the Codex Menu when you hit the

button. You can get Data Logs via chapter select at any time.

I am missing one final log from Argent Facility - Environments. The image explains it all really. Any help would come most welcome. Cheers

Looks like it glitched on me , found everything and it stil says i need one more data log . When i go back for the missing one it shows unlocked on the mini map.
What now ? Start a New game ?

I got the same problem. It shows me that I've collected all the data logs and still didn't get the achievement. When I take a look on the Achievement progress it shows 97 % on "Historian".

I popped the achievement somewhere near the end of the game, but when doing previous missions to wrap up the stuff like secrets and praetor suit upgrades and all that junk, some of them appeared white again, like in Kadinger's level. Not sure what happened there...

@Friggin Grease, the Kadinger's data logs went white for me again as well, at least the ones that are the runestone-looking things. I also had challenges marked uncompleted when replaying.

Thanks mate! If you need to check what ones you're missing head to the menu and there will be a list of all the collectables.

I seem to have a glitch on this one.

Codex tells me I'm missing the 2nd datalog from Lazarus Lab, but I'm 100% sure I got both of them. Both are gone when I'm running through the level.

For me, the codex stations in hell don't remain orange when I replay a level, so I am going to have to do it the slow way and find which codex entries I am missing.

I was missing Rev 2 but I kept getting confused because my Hell levels weren't tracking the data logs. The combination of your video guide with the text descriptions was quite helpful.

I had all codex entries but Historian hadn't popped.
After doing the snapmap achievement (not sure if doing that bit is relevant) I opened up campaign again and chose to replay the 1st level UAC, 2 seconds later Historian popped.

Can comfirm MozambiqueDrill's method worked for me when the achievement wasn't unlocking. Achievement never popped at first but going to the snapmap menu screen then loading the first level on my cleared save made it pop up.

DOOM contains -
- 79 Secrets
- 26 Collectibles
- 47 Data Logs
- 36 Elite Guards (Praetor Suit Upgrades)
- 12 Argent Cells (Health/Armour/Ammo Upgrades)
- 12 Field Drones (Weapon Mond Unlocks)
- 12 Rune Trials (Rune Stones)

The pickups are scattered across the all 13 available campaign levels and are saved immediately after being picked up. For data logs, they appear in 2 different forms: i) White small electronic device ii) Large green rune button.

Powerpyx made a video series of all collectibles (secrets, collectibles, logs, guards, cells, drones, trials) so just stick with the guide and you should be good.
