How to unlock the One Step Ahead achievement in Doritos Crash Course 2 - Definitive Guide

There's an even easier and quicker place to get this. In the second track of Amazon Jungle, Hit The Rope, Jack, there is an area that has two platforms moving up and down next to each other. It's shortly after the first moving platform. Simply drop down in between them and you will land on the pole holding either one up, then you can just jump back and forth between the two. I fell in there on accident but when I realized what I was doing I just stayed there for about 10 seconds and got the achievement. The poles holding the platforms are rather long so you shouldn't have to worry about dropping down.

Thanks to SAS for the track name.

Edit 5/16/13: GoinPostal posted a video of the spot where this is if there was any confusion and shows himself getting it to confirm. I used the space in between the two moving platforms, but obviously any of the three drops in that area look like they will work. Thanks for the visual GP!

By far the easiest way to get this - why would anyone downvote this solution???

It's weird how it says 15 different poles, yet you can use the same 2...

Yeah it's definitely a little odd because of the wording, but hey an easy achievement is an easy achievement, I'll take it. And I'm thinking there's downvotes because there is no video? I dunno, some people can't be pleased.

Doesn't work for me. I see in the video that there are sparkling lights along the poles, which indicates that jumping is possible. I don't have those sparkling lights. Maybe it was a glitch that was patched. :-(

Worked for me, I did it on the first set of moving platforms and it popped no problem. Just got it now, thankyou. Although, they arent unique walls so it shouldnt work ;)

On the last night the game was open, I decided to give it one more try and got it!!! smile My mistake before was not pushing the A button to jump. It seemed like it took a lot more than 15 wall jumps to get it, but I eventually got it.

The first place i found to do this was on Antarctic's 5th level, it's pretty hard to describe where to do it, so just check out the video below :)

But when you get there, tap A to jump up each one, don't even think about touching your analog sticks because it makes you jump off at a dodgy angle instead off onto the next wall.

Credit to Nod Nolan for this:
This will be easier once you've got the 'Alternate Route' achievement, you obviously do this by pressing X on the map then buying the split route.

he also says
"hanging from a platform is your friend. Hang at the top of a column of walls then drop down to the next level, until you reach the bottom wall. Drop down one last time so you start sliding down the bottom most wall and then start jumping your way back up again."

If you're going to give me negative feedback, at least comment why.

You may want to also point out that you will need to have the split track unlocked to do it at this spot. Other than that this solution does work perfect.

I don't know who gave you negative feedback, but it may be for the retard comment. Other than that, good solution.

If anyone's having trouble with that method, I'd just like to add that I was able to go through a previous checkpoint and the walls before it still counted towards the achievement.

Yep, I gave a negative for the 'retard' comment, absolutely no need to be offensive.

No worries Goetz, Its been socially unacceptable to use words such as Spastic / Mong / Retard in the UK for a couple of decades. People like Lady Gaga and Jennifer Aniston have infamously been caught out.

also worth adding to the solution. 1/ the Achievement is easier once the 'alternate route' is unlocked.

2/ hanging from a platform is your friend. Hang at the top of a column of walls then drop down to the next level, until you reach the bottom wall. Drop down one last time so you start sliding down the bottom most wall and then start jumping your way back up again.

Glad you owned up to your douchebaggery, Nolan. I'd like to remind you that +/- exists for the effectiveness of the solution, not how the solution effects your emotional sensitivity. Thanks for the political correctiveness lesson though, save it for an appropriate forum.

If you think calling someone out for offensive language is "douchebaggery" then sadly, you'll see me being a "douchbag" online and offline for along time.

I was perfectly wit)hin my rights to initially downvote the solution. now Goetz has amended the solution (and graciously apologised the solution has been upvoted.

By the way: the solution Guidelines state

Violate site rules. Solutions should not abuse or antagonise other users. They should not be used to call out other users or complain about an achievement. Nor should they contain offensive, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate language.

Wall jumps are a new feature in Doritos Crash Course 2 that let you run up walls and jump off of them. To wall jump, get near a wall and jump on to it. You can now run up the wall if you wish, or you can jump off of it by pressing .
The best place to attempt this achievement is in Antarctic 5: Iceberg Alley once you have the split path unlocked. There is a point in the level where there several small walls that are floating in the air; when you get to this part, try to jump on all of the walls and on both sides of the walls. If you can not hit all of them, it is okay since there are more than enough walls before the next checkpoint to do this. You will earn the achievement as soon as you wall jump off of the required amount of walls; you do not need to go to the checkpoint to obtain it. Another location can be found in the second video linked below.
