Thanks for the videos. Even with them this achievement is a pain in the arse. Right now, I'm trying to get the last 2 in Antartic Snowflake Shake. That double slide jump to the trampoline is ridiculously difficult to pull off.

Yeah no problem, I just got the achievement this morning and it was such a relief! Yeah that one is probably The most difficult star to get. There's a few hard ones and it's nice to have a video to let you know the exact steps to take to capture em.

How in the hell do you get the second star on the final course? I can't seem to time the jump right or something. Any help you can give me?

Make that the third star! It's the one after you climb up the chain at the beginning of the level.

That one was tricky I will admit, A few things you need to keep in mind is that you need to take a quick step, slide and when you push off make sure you get a full lift off and that the left analog stick is pushed straight across to the right. If it is angled up and to the right that will give you more height and less distance which won't get you there.

Yeah Pirate's lvl 5 - 3rd star was a serious headache. Another hint for it:
You will get extra speed by jumping from the chain to the little platform. But you have to be very quick and sharp in the controls

Prepare to do some work for this one.

First: it says 300 'unique' stars. This means bonus objectives don't count, since those stars can be obtained over and over again. But more importantly: stars you obtain by finishing on bronze, silver or gold don't count either. The only stars counting towards this, are the ones you grab during the game.

The total amount of stars possible is 4x5x16 (worlds, courses per world (for now), stars per course) equals 320, so you have to get nearly every star to get this achievement. You'll need to unlock every track (save for one of course, if you go for 16/16 in all others) and unlock all split paths, since you can't get to all stars unless you have the split paths.

Once you have unlocked everything, only thing to do is play and play until you have enough stars. You'll need to use all skills there are in the game, and some stars are in very nasty places so prepare to die a few times.

Can't find a star? When you start a track, the camera will show you the whole level, including all stars (excluding a few ones up high when the track varies too much in high/low - if you can't see the star you want you should easily see where you need to go up).

For all stars, just looking at the track should give you enough information on how to get them, the only problem is timing your actions. Can't get to a star? Don't get frustrated but move on. I managed to get the achievement while only having 12 or 13 stars in some courses, by having 16 in others. The Amazon Jungle is the only world where I managed 16/16 in all five main courses.

I got this without using any power-ups.

Adding point from https://www.trueachievements.com/CounterInsurgnt.htm - For people who aren't looking to necessarily 100% the game, and so don't feel the need to get each and every star for the other achievement: Obtaining this achievement will get easier once the DLC gets released, since there will be more (easy) stars to collect. Edit: four new tracks have since been released; two on Amazon and two on Arctic. If someone who hasn't gotten the achievement yet could verify that these stars count towards the achievement, please say so in the comments and I'll update this guide. https://www.trueachievements.com/anthony040.htm has confirmed that the stars from the new tracks count towards the achievement, so you don't have to 100% the older tracks if you don't want to.

Adding point from I am SNAKE EY3S - You'll jump higher if you use a slide jump instead of a normal jump. I'd like to add myself that there are, to my recollection, at least two stars for which you'll need to do a crouch jump onto a wall - if you jump from a standstill, you'll jump (and consequently wallrun) higher than you would if you'd jump while just standing still.

Good luck... toast

Thanks for the info, I was wondering why my 'total lifetime stars' were at 274 but I didn't have the 100 stars achievement lol +1

Ii just got the 100 stars today and that's been tough as hell. Getting 300/320 stars is gonna test my patience. Cheers for the solution.

Want my advise? Go ahead and save arctic-1 for last. Those two stars you should get with a double slide jump from a small block onto a trampoline were so damn annoying... Better do 16/16 for all jungle levels first, those weren't too bad

Kinda worthless telling people not to collect all stars on all levels when there is an achievement for doing so...

If you try and read my guide a bit better, you'll see I'm not telling people not to collect all stars - I'm telling them to not get too frustrated if they can't get to a star. That's the way I did it; I moved on when stars frustrated me too much.

Second, not every gamer here is a completionist - and for this game, the 'collect every star and win silver on all courses' is the one achievement that will only be obtained by people who absolutely want to 100% the game. The 'collect 300 stars' achievement can be obtained by more people, if only they don't give up and quit when they try to get some of the hardest stars.

Thirdly, this is not an achievement guide for the 'collect all stars' achievement. This is a guide for the 'collect 300 stars' achievement. If my guide helps you to 300 stars, and then you want to go ahead and collect the rest for the other achievement, nobody is stopping you.

Well said, Billy. Darth is obviously having some trouble with this and decided to attack your 100% perfectly fine solution; ignore him.

+1 from me. :)

Thanks smile I've written enough solutions to realise That there's absolutely no pleasing everyone, even if it's thanks to the tiniest detail. Frankly said, I'd expected a negative vote on this solution way earlier, from anyone expecting me to fully map all 320 stars (like the solution posted after me did). I prefer 'guiding' solutions over the ones that take you by the hand every step of the way, it's nice to see thanks to the positive votes that many agree with this opinion.

Shouldn't you also mention that when the "coming soon" tracks are added this will become easier? I mean more new tracks....more unique stars...easier. right?

Thumbs up for clarifying which count. I saw almost 500 on the main menu recently and was a little worried.

a tip you may want to add, for some of the stars that are just out of reach, doing a slide jump typically gives you greater height and distance.

Thanks for the tip. I thought of this tidbit to be general knowledge but added it just to be safe. While we're at it, added the backwards jump onto wallruns you'll need for a couple of stars.

how do you do the backwards jump?

By I am SNAKE EY3S on 04 Jun 2013 14:27
I wanted to say "Mario style" but just to be sure I went back and checked. If you jump standing still, you'll jump higher if you crouch first. I got that 'backwards' thing from playing too much Mario I guess.

THIS IS NOT EXACTLY A SOLUTION JUST A TIP

If you are struggling to do this with the normal courses you can unlock the expert courses and gain stars in them and they count, and as stated in the other solutions you have to FIND AND COLLECT the stars rather than getting them from bonus objectives and getting gold medals. Make sure you have unlocked all split paths as this makes it possible to gain all the stars even though some may take a while

There are a total of 320 unique course stars in the game. You only need 300 of them. Each course will have 16 stars in it and while selecting the levels you can see how many you have out of the 16. You can play through the level as many times as you need to and once you get a star you have it forever. Some stars are more hidden than others but if you jump to all of the high and low points of the map you should be able to find them and figure out how to get them without too much difficulty.
