WARNING!!! First and foremost, COMPLETE THIS ACHIEVEMENT BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE DLC. Start reading the comments about 10-15 from the bottom to get the latest updates but you are better off getting this achievement before the DLC. I know this is too late for most, but comments started to state it becomes impossible once the DLC is installed the 1st time (starting in 2013). Currently the word is the patches have fixed it, but some disagree.
2019 UPDATE: MULTIPLE users have now confirmed that simply deleteing the DLC and restarting the game will fix the issues. Best to delete it before you start, but if you don't, just run it through a second time.

Solution start:
There are 2 different ways to complete this achievement. Both ways consist of you playing all 15 levels but one is much more simple then the other. In order of least time spent.

1) Simple, Straightforward, but involves you actually having a friend. Invite a buddy into a LIVE Party. Set up a new Custom game, select level "USA - 1" then "Send out Live invites. Your friend will hop in the room with you and off you go! Beat all 15 levels in order so it is simple to keep track and know what you need to complete for the achievement.

DLC Addition: Couple of comments at the bottom of the comments. It appears the general idea is that the DLC will add to the Bugginess of the game. I would suggest completing this achievement before you download the DLC.

THE CHICKEN BUTTON: Do not use the "Chicken" button as it will not count you as completing that level FOR THE COUNTRY ACHIEVEMENTS ONLY. But per TheNutman69321: you can use chicken out as much as you want and you will still get THIS achievement. You will not however get the other four that are listed.

NOTE ON STARTING/STOPPING BETWEEN LEVELS. We had MULTIPLE times when the game would just hang after completing a level. it would normally take about 10-15 seconds for the "Advance to Next Level" button to appear, sometimes we would sit there for a minute with nothing though.

In this case, just take note of the level you just completed, back out to the main-in-game screen and set up another session. Just pick the level AFTER» the one you just completed and Invites are easy since you are in a party together. This will happen, but it won't set you back more then 5 seconds.

»Some have said that a key is to replay any level where you do not get the next level button. That the game, when it hangs, will not mark that level as completed for you. keep that in mind if you have issues but that was not the case for me (most like the key issue in the 'bugginess' of this achievement.

This should take you roughly 1.5 hours to complete depending on all of your friend's skill.

2) Time Consuming but you don't need to know anyone...play Xbox Live Ranked Matches. This will automatically put you in a room with other player(s) and pick one level where you go head to head for the best time. Downside: You do not get to select the level. You would have to keep track of the levels you have completed plus you may have to repeat some levels before you get to all 15. Also, I imagine the MP on this will die a couple months after release.

Completing this achievement will also give you:

The American Hero achievement in Doritos Crash Course worth 21 pointsFinish the USA Levels

The Euro Star achievement in Doritos Crash Course worth 24 pointsFinish the Europe Levels

The I’m Big in Japan achievement in Doritos Crash Course worth 29 pointsFinish the Japan Levels

And as long as you can best your friend to the finish just once!

The Competitive Spirit achievement in Doritos Crash Course worth 14 pointsBeat a friend in an Xbox LIVE race

I'd just like to point out that you can use chicken out as much as you want and you will still get this achievement. You will not however get the other four that you listed.

This just refuses to pop. Me and a friend have played through twice now missing no levels and not using the chicken button once. He got it first go but it still will not pop for me. Any ideas?

You CAN use the Chicken button FOR THIS ACHIEVEMENT ONLY (info added to solution). It will invalidate all the other achievements listed...confirmed by multiple sources.

For those with a "glitched"...clear the cache and start over. You might have had a funny connection blip that will keep it locked on you.

Is this glitched, caase I did all 15 level over xbox live with a friend 1 level at time and I completed all 15 but the Social climber did not pop. I reverified my times for each level,and all completed, my frined did however chicken out on the last 2, does that mean it did not count for me even though I completed the levels?

I thought mine was glitched, but went through, and at the end had my friend wait for me, and crossed the line together, which allows you to go level to level without going back to the lobby. I got it that way at Japan Level 5.

Also, ranked does not work, as ranked is only USA levels.

There are multiple players that have said they had a friend use the Chicken button on nearly every level and yet they still achieved this. What your friend does has no barring on if you will get this...however if they quit and exit the game that might cause an issue.

My friend and I both played through the entire game online. Neither one of us used chicken. Neither one of us quit at all. It popped for him and not for me. :( I think this one is just inexplicably glitchy.

I have the same problem as others, played through the game with a friend, we got the achievements for finishing the 3 countries, but not the one for finishing all levels over LIVE. Dissapointing but no big deal, I won't be going back to this game again anyway.

i had the same problem, but i figured that i wasnt the HOST meaning i didint host the game on all 15 levels, that is the reason why it did not pop up, when i did all 15 levels again as the host the achievement popped up for me, so try it out :)

i just got this by creating a match, waiting for someone to join and then playing 1 level at a time, for some reason my connection booted everyone as soon as the race started even though my NAT is open but i missed out japan 3 since i already did that playing a ranked match. the achievement didn't unlock until i redid japan 3 using "create match" instead of ranked. either ranked doesnt count toward it or everyone needs to finish the race (because i didnt wait for everyone to finish in the ranked match, where as my connection was d/c ing everyone else from the game in create match so everyone was finished when i'd finished.)

Just make sure you are the host... and that you finish last so the next level option appears... i noticed that if you finish to far ahead of the last person to cross the line, then the option to go to next level either doesnt appear or takes forever. Plus in the session we just finished.. Everybody has to have crossed the last finish line for the achievement to pop

I can confirm this works (did chicken method) - you don't need to be host though there maybe a requirement that you host at least one level. Note that I did do all 15 in a row.

One thing you might add to this Curtieson is how to quickly get chicken out as an option. I personally found it fastest to hold RS-> and tap Y and RB at the same time until the match was over. (roughly 20 seconds per match)

I agree with JMJimmy; it worked for me the first time and I wasn't even the host! We finished in less than 15 mins and both go the achievement. I simply rubber-banded the RS to the right and repeatedly tapped Y and RB until the level is beat; rinsed then repeated!

OK! So after attempting to do this for what seems like hours what's important is YOU MUST WAIT TILL THE END.. DO NOT QUIT AFTER YOU'VE FINISHED! If you see a screen that says something like 'are you sure you want to quit? You will lose your progress' and you quit it won't count towards this.

Just did this in under 15 mins with both players using chicken all the time on every level. Of note, we couldn't continue twice at the end of a level but found out that was do to Shuffle being selected when creating the game. Deselect that and you shouldn't have any more issues.

Adding to this: I acquired the achievement by hosting a two-player party first, creating a custom game with one private slot and inviting my party to the game. We both did a "chicken-run" (outlined in the thread above) from USA level 1 to Japan Level 5 in order without missing a level. We both tried to finish at the same time so as to quickly get the "proceed to next level" option upon completing each level. When we finished Japan level 5, the achievement immediately popped for both of us. This achievement is not host specific.

Just got this cheevo and know exactly why it is glitching for some people......AFTER COMPLETEING THE LEVEL IT ONLY GIVES YOU CREDIT FOR THE LEVEL IF YOU HIT THE NEXT LEVEL BUTTON......If the game hangs or everyone quits or you go back to the lobby for any reason (even after you completed the level) it will not give you credit for it.......I can also confirm that whether you host the match or not has nothing to do with it. Hope this is helpful....It took me a long time to figure it out.

Just did a run with someone and I have the DLC and he didn't. Achievement popped after Japan 5 for him, but nothing for me. So either you have to do all the DLC levels or it's glitched like the others.

Same BS story for me... Completed the 15 levels with a friend who doesn't have DLC while I do have DLC. Achievement popped for friend right at end of Japan 5. I get nothing but the cold shoulder. I guess now I get to try deleting DLC and clearing cache. Fun times.

I can confirm that having the dlc will glitch this. I didn't have dlc and I chickened a lot. I got the cheevo. My friend has the dlc and didn't get it.

The quickest chicken method I found was placing your right thumb flat in the middle of all the buttons and pressing down over and over while pushing your left stick to the right constantly until the rb pops up, lather, rinse repeat. You can chicken each course in about 15 SECONDS each that way.

I was one of the unlucky ones to have the DLC glitch, I just got the social climber achievement. I had to redo the Japan levels did 1-5 on easy (was host for 5) then did 1-4 on normal (was host for all 4) friend hosted USA and Europe, I noticed on USA that level 3 didn't save for me so I hosted that. achievement unlocked at the end of normal japan level 4.

Got my hands of a second XBOX without DLC, played thru all 15 levels on one shot, no one left early, and still did NOT unlock. I have now played thru the co-op at least 10 times since the patch, trying every scenario: hosting, not hosting, JP EASY, JP hard, dlc, no dlc, but no luck. However, the Recent Winners link on the right always shows 2-3 people who unlocked this after the DLC, so i will probably give this one playthru every week and hope to get lucky one day....

I tried and tried many times to unlock this achievement by playing different tactics. My ultimate attempt by playing on a friend's xbox and downloading the game with his profile and then do a full playthrough with a friend didn't succeed. I am almost freaking out, because that fucked up achievement doesn't unlock. What else should I do??

I got it on the first try. I had installed the DLC previously but I had deleted it again; I ran through every single main game level front to back with a friend in one go. It unlocked without any problems; this was before the 'fix' that made the other three achievements unlockable again. Hope this helps.

Is this title update also known as the 'fix', or are this two separate things you can seperately delete in your storage??

As of 05/11/2013 I was able to get this despite already getting the 3 DLC achievements. I'm pretty sure you have to continue to the next level (without going to the lobby) before it will register as completed. So if someone drops out after the level and you are forced back to the lobby, it will not count that level as completed. Also, I deleted the DLC (as I completed it already) before playing online.

I got both of these after the patch, I can confirm the Level 4 achievement works on the easy japan levels, I can not confirm the social climber achievement because I did not try it before the patch.

Update to previous comment, this is no longer bugged, was previous to patch for me as I had the DLC etc. but just ran though it today and it popped at the end of Japan 5. I didn't need to clear my cashe or delete my save or anything like that

@codenamefourty7 there has been a patch. I played the DLC before finishing the main game, and was bugged. then the patch came out and I was able to get the Japan time achievement.

I just got it (without DLC download) and my friend just got it (with DLC).

We completed every level and pressed the A Button to go to next level afterword. Some other avatars jumped in to a few games but it didn't seem to effect anything.

My friend chickened out on the last map of japan (our final race) and she still got the social climber achievement.

Yeah, this works if you play with someone without the DLC. It did glitch for me but to my advantage where I only had to play the USA and Europe levels with a friend and it unlocked after I completed Europe level 5.

I don't know if anyone is going to read this comment, but I just did this achievement on a session with two other players. Not a single problem, and one guy chicken out for two races and still got the achivements. Also it only took 1h, if someone is planning on doing a session. If anyone can add the time it takes on his post so that people know, it would be great. And thanks for the guide :D

I played a session with 2 others. I'm using a Xbox One and I chicken out once and one in my party did as well. We all unlocked it.

I did not have the DLC installed at the time.

I had this pop for me the last week, I did all the dlc before I knew about this glitch. Yet it popped first time exactly when it should of. All I did was.
1 removed dlc completely
2 put a group of 2 together and played from start to finish, making sure I got the advance message everytime.
Popped perfect.. best of luck to you all.
FYI the guy I coop with didn't have any dlc achievements, not sure if that matters

Just completed this achievement with my buddy Strive. I haven’t read every single comment, so forgive me if I repeat what anybody else has said. Just basing my comment upon the Authors post.

I already had the DLC installed, my friend did not. We played every level we could (obviously, excluding the DLC) and the achievement did NOT pop. As I expected. After we tried, I uninstalled the DLC and closed the game on the dashboard and started it back up with the intention of playing all original 15 levels once more. We played all of the USA levels again and got to the end of the 3rd level of the Europe section and the achievement popped. Without having to play any of the DLC levels.

If you downloaded the DLC, don’t worry, just uninstall it and re-install when/if need be.

I'm thinking about doing some tests to finally find a solution for those of us who've had this achievement bug out (Or to at least just find out if it is truly impossible).

I purchased, installed and played the DLC before attempting Social Climber, which like many of you, seems to have made it impossible to achieve. I've tried many of the solutions offered above in the past, but that must have been about 3-4 years ago now!

I've not given it a shot since the patch that jimno91375 references above (May of 2018) and would be interested to try a few methods. It sounds like chickening out DOES NOT affect your ability to get the achievement, which I hope is true since it will save an awful lot of time. Likewise, I can't see how choosing who hosts the game would affect the achievement, but there's no way to be 100% sure until testing. As far as I can tell, these are ALL the options to try.

METHOD 1: Delete Xbox 360 Cache, delete the DLC, host and play through all original levels with a partner on Live. Your partner should also delete the DLC and clear cache, if applicable. (Nobody chickens out)

METHOD 2: Swap hosts. (Nobody chickens out)

METHOD 3: Re-download the DLC (Along with your partner, if they own it), host and play through ALL levels, original and DLC. (Nobody chickens out)

METHOD 4: Swap hosts. (Nobody chickens out)

METHOD 5: Partner hosts a game, without the DLC installed (Applicable if your co-op partner doesn't own the DLC at all), however, you will the DLC installed. You and your partner play through all original levels. (Nobody chickens out)

I suppose you could add more variations to the above based around chickening out, and while I don't own an Xbox One, utilising the backwards compatibility version of the game for either the host or the partner could add to the potential methods.

I got this successfully without troubles in April 2020. I used the Xbox One as the game is backwards compatible, and what I did was delete my save on the game, in the manage installations section, and THEN deleted the City Lights DLC. I then booted up the game went for this achievement with someone, and it popped successfully after completing all 5 USA levels, all 5 EU levels and all 5 Japan levels (which can be done on easy to minimize the pain and time) I also want to add that I accidentally backed out once after all 5 of the USA levels were completed, but this did not affect the progress, as long as every level is completed with someone else over Xbox Live, then you’re fine. I also chickened out once and the level didn’t count as completed. If this happens, don’t worry just replay the level again and don’t use the chicken, and complete it and it will count.

Another way of doing this as not many people are online on this game now plus some friends are not willing to sit though 15 levels with you,
Have another profile set up either a old one with gold or wait till theres a xbox gold weekend come up, and because this game is free download, download it on 2 xboxes set up custom match on both, and blast though them it took me about half an hour plus you can also get the beat a friend in a race achievement to. Yes i know its a right mess on but if you really want this game in the 100% club then needs must. Goodluck.

If you have already completed the DLC and not done the two multiplayer achievements, you are going to be very happy. The achievements Social Climber and Competitive Spirit are now achievable for those for didn't do these before the DLC. It still seems to be a little bit buggy for some users. My friend had the same issue. We went through all the levels about four times before it finally decided to unlock.

It unlocked fine for me, but another friend of mine had the same issue as you with just Social Climber. It still seems a little bit buggy, be nice if they actually made sure it unlocks as it is supposed to.

I only had to redo the last level of Japan and it unlocked for me, but my friend and I went through all the levels in one run four times just to unlock it for him. I think the best bet would be to try to get a friend to join you and just speed through all 15 levels in one session. It is definitely still a headache for many users. Hopefully if enough people are having this issue, maybe they will put a bit more effort into a patch next time.

So in your friends case, he managed to unlock it just by repeating a run through of the 15 levels 4 times? This one's still glitched for me and I've attempted it 3 times now, maybe I should give it one more shot.

I think you have to stay in the game untill everyone finishes the course for it to count. Not 100% sure though.

Having the same issue Fuz, I've actually tried this 6 times post patch now!

It seems to be fairly random, but the only method I think would work is to play on a 2nd Xbox that has never had the DLC installed. Of course, this probably isn't helpful to most people.

Next time I visit a friend with an Xbox, I'll give it a shot.

I tried this again after the patch and no luck. Did all original 15 levels in one run and nothing.

Played just one level in single player and got the other two achievements so at least they got that part fixed.

Just finished a session where we went through all the levels including DLC and it still didn't pop. We chickened out on a few, but ice done sessions where it popped fr others who chickened out a that shouldn't be an issue.

I hate this achievement.

IF YOU HAVE THE DLC OR GOT THE BUG READ THIS, I HOPE WILL HELPFUL:

My girlfriend (GT: nickiasaur) got a new Xbox 360, so we started the game and played trough in multiplayer. My Xbox got the DLC, but the other never!

We played in 2014 April 23 and unlocked it at the same time. Both Xbox manufactured at same day and connected to the same WiFi. We played online multiplayer, not LAN and played trough the multiplayer from first to last level in one playing. I bought the DLC on my Xbox using my old account and completed 300G on my old account.

Edit:

- the game uploaded her times to the online leaderboard
- never earned any DLC achievement

If you still need the achievement, play trough the DLC levels online, maybe will help!

This achievement glitched for me after I played 4 of the Japanese on normal difficulty and then the last level on easy. I played the last level on easy around 3 times on easy and it glitched everytime. I then went and deleted the DLC and noticed easy wasn't even available without the DLC. I then went back and played the last level and only level I had played on easy on normal and it popped first try. Now I don't if making sure you don't play on easy is part of it but that is what seemed to affect me.

Me and NYYProphet got this achievement at the same time. I didnt had the DLCs and he deleted his DLCs, he was Host all the Time, and he got Chicken out 2 Times Even he didnt press it. I hope it will help you out if some one is still going for this achievement.

For this achievement have a willing friend on your Friends List to play through every single level with you over Xbox Live. Start at USA Level 1 and work through to Japan Level 5. This will only take roughly 20-30 minutes. I would recommend playing straight on Xbox live with a friend just to have a taster of what all the levels are like. If you use this method you will unlock the following achievements, "Euro Star", "I’m Big in Japan", and "American Hero".
