How to unlock the Sore wa kantan desu achievement in Doritos Crash Course - Definitive Guide

Basically, you need to progress through the game until you reach Japan 4: "Muzukashii Wheel" then finish the level in 1:40 or less. Here's a YouTube video showing how I did it. I wasn't perfect, but there's room for a few mistakes as you can see. It can be a little frustrating, but I hope this video helps.

Edit: You might be able to make it through the long run of smashers near the end without stopping, but I didn't want to risk it.

Very impressive. I might try this game now that I know it's do-able.

Thanks for the video, I was positive that you had to shortcut the part with the green steps... but I just couldn't work it. Also if anyone wants a mental guide of where to jump on the green step which you leap from, I found that if you run from the middle of the step and jump once you hit the end you make the jump 80% of the time.

Got it with 1:38.639 without using the green step shortcut, without stopping during the long run of flattening boxes, and without the 2nd trampoline shortcut. Had to make zero mistakes though.

LGS I Hitman: It does work, as you can see in the video, but it might take some practice. If you're having a hard time with it, there's probably still time to finish if you ignore it and the rest of your run is pretty much perfect.

If you can't get the top green step to work, drop to the step below and then try. It only takes a little bit longer, and you are still saving time.

Great help. I didn't realise I could skip the moving platform entirely. I was riding it through the crushers and then using the ramps. Skipping it out, saved so much time. Thanks.

I have a couple of his tricks put into words...

1) On the 1st leg with the smash boxes, you have to run backwords on the second double, this gives you enough delay to make the 3rd, 4th, 5th jump.

2) The green block shortcut DOES work. When you are on the block you need to jump from, you have to start 1/4 of the way in and sprint the other 3/4. This gives you JUST enough speed to make it and not too much that you slam into the way.

3) I did not stop in the long run of blocks. If you let go of your sprint on the few jumps you need to make in that run you will have enough to make it.

4) I stopped and waited for the platform near the paint-balls. This isn't needed as you can see in the video, but it helped me out. I then jumped from the second masher to the paint-ball launcher and then flew up the rest of those triangle ramps.

Just finished in 1:31, good for 1111th in the world! I am #1, a lot of them, haha

"Sore wa kantan desu" roughly means: "That's simple"
It's a play on "Muzukashii Wheel" which is roughly "Difficult Wheel"

You can make it through the long line of smashers if you release the boost when in the air on the jumps, and on the final stretch do a few small bunny hops keeping the boost pressed (seem to make you move a little faster)

Whoever voted this solution down is clearly just jealous that they can't do this.

This achievement actually wasn't that hard for me thanks to this video. The shortcut with the flipping platforms helped a lot. In three tries (not counting the first time I played the level for the "beat japan" achievement), I had gold with 1:43, and another two tries got me the achievement.

Oh, and directed at the originator of the video: you spawned a meme amongst my friends. After watching your video and making the statement that "Whoever did this must be Dorito Jesus", we now refer to doing good at this game as "going full-on dorito jesus".

THANK YOU DORITO JESUS!!! WE LOVE YOU!

For the long run with the smashers I find that I make it more consistently but doing slide jumps on the last two gaps.

Now, if only I could hit that target spot jump towards the end consistently...

THANK YOU took about 20 tries for me..took a break at 18 and did some laundry came back, relaxed and got it my second try after comin back! just some tips i noticed:
-after the first two double hammers make sure u pause b4 jumping to the next one (notice in video @ :14)
-i ran all the way through the long hammer sequence just release sprint mid-jump
-found it easier to make the gap at the end of the green blocks by waiting til the one below the shortcut block popped up and jumping from there.
-the trampoline shortcut at the end is clutch otherwise those forward and backward runs can be tricky

good luck to anyone else whos tryin to get this one!

Great guide dude! Gotta say it helped out a lot with which ways too go. Took me about 1 million tries but thats because I have horrible timing most the time. Finally got it with 1:32:948. I messed up twice and waited for that one green platform you jump off of to drop me to the next before I jumped. Could never get the distance right from the top one. Although it does work because I did make it from the top one a few times just screwed up through the rest so I decided to give up that extra couple seconds and do better on the rest but FINAlly Got It!

Dear Valued Customer, (benbeeri)
Because you purchased our dlc and got the achievements it came with we would like to say F*** you. The reason we say this is. After 2 years of not touching this game you decided to try the Sore wa kantan desu achievement. You got a time of 1:37 and you didnt get this achievement.
Sincerely,
Microsoft

At least if they would've sent me a note like this i would've never bought the dlc achievement is glitched for sure I even tried it on an xbox that had no dlc ever downloaded on it.

I believe I may have a concrete answer to what's going on with these glitched achievements. I don't believe it necessarily has to do with downloading the DLC or any updates. What breaks the old achievements is having the new achievements on your gamercard. Here is my experience, which I relayed in an email to Richard Leibowitz at Behavior on Jan. 28. I have yet to receive a response.

I had all but 2 achievements for the core game: Going for Gold and Sore wa kantan desu. I downloaded the DLC and won all 3 new achievements which were showing on my gamercard (now 13 of 15). I started reading about the glitch and realized I was probably fuct.

The DLC was downloaded on a newer xbox after I re-downloaded the core game. I had the core game on an older xbox that had not been connected to live for quite a while. My gamercard only showed the original 8 of 10 achievements on this xbox. I was able to complete Japan 4 under 1:40 on this xbox and the Sore wa kantan desu achievement popped. I then stupidly connected to live after which, my gamer card on the older xbox updated and was now showing 14 of 15 achievements for the game.

At that point I didn't realize what I had done. I assumed that the glitch was tied to the game and/or the DLC so I made a point not to start the game while connected. I then disconnected and when about getting gold on all the levels, but it was too late...that achievement did not pop.

So it seems that once the new achievements are showing on your gamer card then it's too late. If you have gotten any of the new achievements, but have another xbox with the game that hasn't been connected to live since getting those achievement, then you should be able to get any of the old achievements. Just don't connect to live until you get them all!!!

Here's to hoping that my mistake can help somebody get these achievements. I just hope they can fix this game, but I'm not holding my breath...

started it again today, but NO TU, NO DLC, OFFLINE!

after a few tries i got the the time achieve at 1:37 min and the achievement popped!
went out of the game and signed back into live to 'sync' my achievements with xbox.com... it says 10 / 15 on xbox.com and my console says 10 / 12 but when i open the game page on console for looking at all the achieves it says 11 / 12 unlocked...

ive gotten offline achieves in others many times when live was down.. but when i went back online they synced to xbox.com.. but not now :(
wtf is this shit XD anyone has the same or a solution? :)

i only hope that the all gold achieve is still obtainable after downloading this TU.. (still not bought the DLC yet, will try that after i finish the original 200GS)
i am missing a few gold on easy USA but thats ok those are easy..

and i also gave me the option in the level select screen for Japan and Easy-Japan so (and dont hold me responsable for screw ups) it seems like a patch is out !? :O

Wow, totally impressive video and all the above tips are great. I plan to go through them in more detail, but I do have one question: The jumps being made in the video seem really long... Is there a double jump option? I'm doing runs and jumps, but I just don't seem to get that distance (or mid-air flips for that matter). Thanks.

I was worried too about the fact, that the game including DLC were removed from the marketplace, but today I received this email from Behaviour:

---

Hi ***

We already created a patch for these issues, which is in QA at the moment.

Given the current workload on the QA and certification teams you can expect this to be released in the following weeks!

We will keep you updated on our social networks!

Maïlys

---

Note that this response was for my email from May 12th 2013 in which I also pointed at the removal of the game.

So it doesn't seem that bad right now and I hope the patch will come soon.

I found it far easier doing the green step shortcut one platform later, from the one immediately under that used in the video. Only adds a second or two, you still have plenty of time if you do well on the other sections. I finished in 1:31.7.

Just pulled this off. Bought the DLC for $1.99 CDN last night, and did on Japan 4 Easy. Still needs to be a pretty good run.

This achievement is now obtainable after the new patch.
I just got it by playing Japan-Easy level 4, and finishing in under 1:40 (I finished at 1:36). So it is now obtainable once again.
Try to learn the whole level off, as although it is not as hard as the regular Japan 4, it needs to be done with little to no mistakes.
Note that you will need the "City Lights" DLC to play the Japan-Easy levels.

IF THIS WAS GLITCHED FOR YOU, IT IS NO LONGER GLITCHED AND VERY MUCH OBTAINABLE. A patch was released a few days ago and fixed the unobtainable achievements, and good news....Japan-Easy levels count!!

If you were like me, and already had Japan-4 Easy: Muzukashii Wheel completed in under 1:40, all you have to do is go back, play the level again, and make sure you finish WITHOUT skipping an area so your time counts. I played through my first time and finished in 2:06 and the achievement still popped, because the game saves your best time for completing the level all time, just need to complete it again so it saves that time. Good Luck!! Any down votes please comment why.

I can confirm this achievement is unlocking as of 8/8/2015! I had under 1:40 already in the leaderboards. After the update, I just played another level and it popped. YEAH!

Edit: When I was playing on 360, I had the DLC, but I never played any of the Japan Easy levels. Now my glitched gold medal is on Japan Easy.

---------------------------------------------------------------

This achievement maybe is glitched again (for good) on Xbox One.

When I played on 360 (years ago), I tried in normal Japan and my record was a silver medal (more than 2 minutes).

I transfer my save to the cloud, and this weekend I played in my Xbox One. Well, I was playing in a USA level (first or second), and after finish that level, this achievement unlock.

And I played Japan Level 4, In the "select japan levels" menu, I still have my record (silver medal, more than 2 minutes), but the time that shows after you finish the level says that I have a gold medal and my best time was 1:39... Weird.

In my opinion this is probably the hardest achievement in the game, it requires you to beat Japan - Level 4 - Muzukashii Wheel in 1:40. I would advise for you to play this level and learn it by heart. Take a look at the video below for tips on how to speed up your play through of this level.
