How to unlock the Beloved and Precious achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition - Definitive Guide
*Make sure you side with them and use the heart icon any time it is available with the particular character you are courting.
* Tied to storyline progression as I received it after doing multiple side quests and up to the "Here Lies the Abyss" and "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" quests both completed.
*May also need to do their Inner circle side mission as well as I had done Blackwalls mission when I played through.
*Missable Achievement
NVM, found on another guide, I must have missed some important ingame text: it has to be purchased from Barnabus in Val Royeaux.
As of now, i am a lvl 19 female rogue. I chose the romance for many of the characters cause i wanted to get at least one of them. But i didnt think that Blackwall would fall for me.
If you want to know who to do your character as, follow this guide http://www.ign.com/wikis/dragon-age-inquisition/Sex_and_Roma...
*Caution: Blackwall stands you up and does a one night stand with you.*
thanks Tabushcus
Much like in other BioWare games, romances are included here, as well. This achievement is unlocked easiest with a party member whom your character’s morality lines up with and is involved in your active party, as you will consistently be increasing your approval rating with them. Whenever possible, choose conversation options with them that provide a ‘Heart’ symbol in the middle of your dialogue wheel (romantic dialogue) and say things that align with their morality and state of mind. If they are of a sexuality that does not align with yours, they will decline your advances.
Continue choosing the ‘Heart’ whenever possible and increasing their approval rating to eventually unlock the ability to romance them.
Keep in mind that this does not immediately unlock once you commit to a person, even though that is the achievement's description. You must further progress the romance to a certain point, different for each individual, to unlock the achievement.

**MISSABLE**
After finishing the last story mission "Doom Upon All The World", you won't be able to romance anyone, or finish any of the romances you had going. Make sure to obtain this trophy before starting this mission, or manually save before the last mission and finish this trophy afterwards by reloading the save file.
There are 8 people whom you can romance. Whether you can romance them depends on your character's gender and race. In order to romance someone, every time you talk to one of them, you need to choose the dialogue option with a heart icon. If you don't see any icons in the middle of the dialogue wheel, go to Options > Interface > Uncheck Hide Tone Icons. If you don't know where everyone is located, open the area map and hover over the black face icons to see who's where. There are a few people who you can flirt with, but not actually romance. Check the list below for those you can romance.
In order to actually romance any of them and receive the trophy, you'll need to do multiple quests for them. Whenever you find yourself in Haven or Skyhold, talk to any of the companions you want to romance and choose the heart option whenever possible. If there's no option to flirt, keep investigating and asking them questions about themselves. If none show up, come back later, or travel to a different location and travel right back for possibly new options. At a later stage, through enough flirting you get the option to "enter a relationship". This isn't enough though, as this won't unlock the trophy. Keep talking to them to unlock their final romance quest which should give you the trophy. If not, keep flirting and talking with them, it takes longer with some people.
These are the people you can romance, which gender and race they prefer and their romance quests.
