How to unlock the Regal achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition - Definitive Guide

Once you reach the Sky hold you will be able to swap around decorations, windows, thrones etc
to upgrade your throne it is rather easy but can contain a little bit of luck.

in the war room over the Ferelden (right) side of the map there will be a constant mission called "gather coin" which takes roughly 15-20 min to complete every time you finish this you have a chance of getting a throne upgrade. UPDATE A big thanks too Spakon for pointing out this can be achieved by completing the other gather resources operations as wellclap and a thanks to Apocalypse Kane for proving his theory right clap
The first time I did it in Sky hold I got upgrade I and the next time upgrade II once you get the Upgrade II the Achievement will pop. clap

worth mentioning you can also get throne upgrades from Resources operations, which are also infinite and better if you don't need the coin.

Yes it is true @Spakon, and I believe that it has the same chance, I think should be added to the solution.

@skate 323 sorry I should of been more clear with it Just having the throne is pretty much upgrade one so upgrade II would make it the maximum at upgrade III

Just wanted to point out using whoever has the best time for completing the operation seems to have a higher chance of getting the upgrade I sent Cullen to gather coin dozens of times and got nothing then I sent Josephine and she got them after going out one time.

So you don't actually have to do anything once you get the upgrades, you just get them and they automatically upgrade the throne?

Got the second very quickly once I got the 1st one, agree with about posters had almost immediate success with the person with the lowest completion time.

This took me dozens of attempts with Josephine on "Gather Coin". I accidentally learned you can boost this by creating a save game just outside the war room before receiving the gather coin mission, you will get different results on each load since they appear to be random. I got Throne II on my first inadvertent gather coin re-load - which I am sure was just coincidence.

Fantastic tip. I got the achievement in the time it took me to clear out Suledin's keep.

It's a good guide I agree, but I think it may random. I have followed this solution and while it does wield results, I have yet to get a second throne upgrade for the same throne. So far I have gotten all off the level 1 upgrades for all thrones but no luck on that second upgrade yet.cn_guide

Umm i'm pretty sure it's not the fastest person, it has to do with what they collect. You can even see in the descriptions that Josephine will grab anything, where the others have a specific thing they usually find. So that's why you use her for this sort of Achievement hunting.

I got Throne I and then Throne II right after during the collect gold mission. Very easy.

Here's a Video Guide I made for this achievement. All you have to do is send your advisers out to either collect money or resources and eventually you will get thrones I and II when they return, If you send the right people out to the right ones I believe. As shown in the video I got the achievement Unlocked by sending Leliana to gather resources at Fallow Mare. it took me 3 tries to send her out to get the achievement.

In order to get throne upgrades you can complete the War Table missions Gather Coin, Gather Metal, Gather Leather, Gather Cloth, Gather Herbs or one of the X Place Resources. Josephine may be the best advisor to send for a throne upgrade. If you read the description of how each advisor will act on the mission (for example, for Crestwood Resources, Joesphine will look for "whatever is easiest to collect", while Leliana and Cullen will look for Embrium and Obsidian respectively) you should get an idea of who to send. Generally, in the resource grab missions, Joesphine will grab whatever is easiest/safest (so random stuff) while Leliana will return with herbs and Cullen with metals, but I got 2 throne upgrades (each for a different throne) at once from sending Leliana on Emerald Graves Resources, so Joesphine is by no means the only option.

To fully upgrade a throne you need to get two upgrades from the above missions, which are random "drops".

Now, it has been mentioned in the comments of the top voted guide, but in the interest of visibility I'll write this here. Once the operation is complete, save outside the War Room door, then complete the operation. If you didn't get a throne upgrade, reload your save and try again as the reward seems to be decided upon completion, allowing you a different result on each reload.

Using the above method will mean only having to wait for the actual completion time twice, once for each upgrade. Though unless you're having bad luck or are more interested in completing other War Table missions, you should manage it reasonably quickly without the save trick.

It took me about 10 re-loads to get the second one but I got the first one on the first Gather Coin mission I did. I did Gather Coin with Josephine each time.

This trophy is won at the war table, you will eventually get a quest to gather coin, well there is a trick to the table that you can advance time for all the quests by going in to the PS4 settings and advancing the time manually.

The video will show you how to do this quickly.

I guess this method could be used to quickly farm money, herbs and metals with the gather herbs and metal quests on the war table also if you wish to.

I personally was not sure how to upgrade the throne and when finding this video realised you get it just by doing the quest at the war table and once you get the parts it will pop. So don't worry about doing anything else like when you upgrade the gardens or towers you need to go look around Skyhold to make the changes, you don't need to do anything at all, like i say it will pop as soon as you open the quest report as long as you got the parts needed.

So just follow the steps on the video and you will eventually get the parts and with it the trophy. Don't worry if you don't get the parts straight away you can just keep using the method shown on the video repeatedly until you do so.

If you don't want to use this as a way to advance other quests and wish to play them at the normal time rate just wait until all other war table quests are finished and then just use the gather coin quest alone.

Or if you don't want to use this method at all you just can just keep doing the gather coin quest at your own rate, it's entirely up to you.

During any point in the story after having acquired Skyhold, you will uncover operations on the War Table that reward either coin, resources, or both. A throne accessory is randomly a reward on these operations and you'll have to roll the dice to get them, requiring two in total to be considered "completely upgraded." Keep running them until you are given your upgrades to unlock the achievement.

Once you're in Skyhold, you'll receive your very own throne. In order to upgrade it, you'll need to go to the War Table and find the "Gather Coin" operation at the very left on the Ferelden side. Select it and send any of the three people to gather some coin. Once the mission is finished you'll more than likely receive coins, but if you're lucky, you'll also receive a Throne Accessory. In order to obtain the trophy, it needs to be a Throne Accessory II. Accessories for different Thrones can be found from all the other "Resource" missions which counts towards the trophy as well.

If you're unlucky or want to speed up the progress, forward your console's clock by the amount of time needed for the mission to finish to immediately complete it. If you set your console clock past 00:00 (12am), the mission timer will increase to 24 hours. Forward the date by 1 day if this happens, changing the time won't work in this instance.
