How to unlock the Well-Funded achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition - Definitive Guide

This is a cumulative achievement and, for most people, will probably pop naturally at some point during the course of the game. To speed it up, however, and also to get you the Peerless achievement for getting Inquisition Influence to 10 at the same time, I stumbled across a short cut.

I think the running total of gold must also count gold obtained from selling things to merchants. I say that because this popped for me whilst I was using the glitch to raise Influence, by buying and then immediately selling back treaties to Farris the Representative, the merchant who appears at Skyhold down by the Stables. See the guide for that achievement:

Dragon Age: InquisitionPeerlessThe Peerless achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition worth 54 pointsLevel up the Inquisition to rank 10.

This achievement popped for me after buying and then selling back a few times at around 6,800 gold a go, having only accumulated around 5,000 gold in that playthrough prior to that according to the progress tracker.

I'm not clear on what triggers Farris appearing as a merchant. It may be a side quest from the War Table, it may have been me talking to the merchant guild leader Bonny Simms (whose stall is opposite where Farris appears) about how to get more traders to come to Skyhold.

In theory, you should also be able to do the same thing with the furniture merchant in Val Royeaux whilst going for the Decorator achievement.

Dragon Age: InquisitionDecoratorThe Decorator achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition worth 32 pointsPurchase any new decoration element for Skyhold.

EDIT: Added on 22/1/15 - the PC update which has just been rolled out, and which is due to also be rolled out on the console version, apparently removes the Influence exploit. That will probably also therefore close the loophole which allows you to buy and sell as long as you don't leave the merchant, which may render this solution redundant.

Noting that the loophole noted still works as of today 1/28/15, at least for me. It took 2 minutes to get this + Peerless achievement so it's certainly worth a try.

Culmative. Counts all gold you're ever gathered. If you're going for everything, especially killing all dragons, this will come naturally. I got it about halfway through.

There's a repeatable mission from the war desk, Gather Coin, in southwestern Ferelden. (the right side) that earns about 100 gold. It finishes every 40-55 minutes. You can play another game and come back to Dragon Age every hour. Switch up which character does the job for best results.

There's a demon/spirit in the keep (castle) in Emprise Du Lion who will offer you riches, power, virgins, or a fight with him. He's true to his word, but I'm not sure how much money he gives you. Be warned that many party members will object to making a deal with a demon.

If you are taking your time and looting and selling you won't have a problem. Get the two inventory increases so you can really load up.

Can always make a save-file and then sell all of your gear if you are getting close. Was at 35k total but had over 30k of gear.

If you get to Skyhold you basically have unlimited Gold suddenly. The chest in the cellar where all the crafting tables are allows you to dupe items.

So buy the most expensive item you can buy, dupe it as often as you like, sell it and repeat or buy an even more expensive item to dupe.

Duping is done by putting the item into the chest and then pressing A+B simultaneously. This leaves the item in the chest and puts a copy of it into your inventory. For other system you have to press the key to take it out of the chest and the key for closing the chest simultaneously can earn the achievement in matter of minutes

To get this achievement you need to collect 50,000 gold on a single playthrough. It doesn't matter if you spend the gold, and buy and rebuy items.

This will come naturally, I am sure.

HOWEVER

If you need this done quickly, and you are in favor of farming.... please read on.

This method will allow you to get this quickly, and soon after you get access to the war table.

Before you start:
You need to have access to the mission where you collect gold. (It is on the left side of the Fereldan side (the right card)) .

1.Save before you enter the war room.
2.Close the game.
3.Go into settings and disconnect from the internet. (go offline)
4.Hard power down your console (hold on the light on the console until it powers down)
5.Turn on the console again.
6.Go into settings and change the year to: 1916 (assuming you are in 2015)
7.Load the game and continue.
8.Enter the war room.
9.Select on the GOLD money mission - choose the character.
IT SHOULD AUTO COMPLETE GIVING YOU THE MONEY AND COMPLETING A MISSION.

Do this a whole bunch more times. You will have to count yourself since the acheivements cannot be tracked while you are offline.

When you are satisfied, close the game down (don't just minimize it - close it) and go into setting and go online again. Then you load up the game if you have done the 50 missions the achievement will pop around the title screen.

NOTES/CAUTIONS!!!!!!

- For me when I was doing this, the QUEST WORLD MAP was a bit screwy and the cursor would have a hard time going where I wanted it to go. When I went back online, the problem was fixed.
- If you use a turbo controller (as I tried), the game will crash. At least it did for me.
- I would recommend you exit the war room every so often to make sure you save.

You can also use this solution for:

Dragon Age: InquisitionHigh CommanderThe High Commander achievement in Dragon Age: Inquisition worth 26 pointsComplete 50 missions or operations in a single playthrough.

Because if you are like me you will probably do this at least 1000 times and get more than 100,000 gold.

If you need something to buy because your level is too low, install the black emporium and there are accessories in there for 7000-15000 gold which are rare purple and can be equipped on lower level characters.

Not to mention you can complete requisition quests by buying the ingrediants there. Not all of them, but some of them.

This one is more daunting than you might think at first. Gold isn’t exactly abundant in Thedas, but luckily for you, this includes all playthroughs and is a cumulative earning, meaning it doesn’t have to be on you all at once. Sell what you don’t need, craft for further profit, and loot whenever possible. Finally earn a total of 50,000 gold to unlock the achievement.

There is an easy way to get this that is obviously unintended. Once you have something in your inventory worth a decent amount of gold, sell it to a vendor, use the Buy Back feature to retrieve it, and repeat the process until the achievement unlocks.

You'll come across so much stuff you don't need, that you'll easily end up with quite some money. 50.000 gold is going to take quite some time, however. This can be done over multiple playthroughs, so keep this one for last. If you still need it though, there's a simple trick to quickly achieve this. Go to any merchant, sell anything (preferably something valuable), and buy it right back afterwards from the buyback tab. Keep repeating this until the trophy unlocks. You can also use an infinite money exploit. For more on that see the Inquisitor trophy.
