How to unlock the Bully achievement in Dragon Age: Origins - Definitive Guide

For this you will need the skill Coercion. Skills are available to anyone, but I'm guessing a Rogue will have the easiest way for this as they will gather up skillpoints quicker; 1 every 2 levels opposed to 1 every 3 levels for Mages and Warriors. When intimidating, Strength will be the stat checked against, so be sure to have atleast some points invested. (16+ reccomended).

Use 5 or 10 succsessful intimidate options during conversations when available and Bully and Menacing will pop. It's also a good idea to save first as intimidating people have a negative effect on your companions more often than not.

You also have to succsessfully intimidate enough people during a single game, for both Bully and Menacing, and cannot reload a game to have it count more than once, or done with separate characters.

The "difficult" wording of the achievement doesn't seem to mean much. From what I could tell, the intimidate options in the origins stories did not count, but everything else seemed to.

Here's a quick list of people to intimidate:

- Farmer by the entrance, Lothering (press him on Loghain)
- Outside Merchant, Lothering
- Doomsayer outside the Chantry, Lothering
- Reverend Mother, Lothering (When you ask to have Sten released)
- Owen the blacksmith, Redcliffe (When entering)
- Dwyn the dwarf, Redcliffe (after breaking in)
- Dwyn #2, Redcliffe (getting him to fight)
- Bevin the little boy, Redcliffe (Revealing the secret)
- Bevin #2, Redcliffe (Getting the key)
- Lloyd the Tavernkeep, Redcliffe (get him out and fighting)
- Mother Hannah, Redcliffe Chantry (The holy symbols)

There are probably tons more - leave a comment and I'll add them to the list.

For a last tip, note how many there are in Redcliffe. Most of these have Persuade counterparts, so if you were to save before doing them all and reloading once you got Menacing, you are that much closer to the 25 persuasions achievement.

During the Stone Prisoner DLC quest, there is an option to intimidate the man that wants you to rescue his daughter. He asks you to rescue her and he'll tell you the Golem secret code, but you have an option of something like "[Intimidate] How about you just give me the password." I chose the option but he didn't give in.

Also, according to the DA wiki, Intimidate also relies on Strength, as well. It fits, but it's untested.

This achievement glitched for me...I was able to unlock the 10 but the 5 bugged out on me. Anybody else had this happen. Only thing different is it was 5 years since I last played the game and I had a TU to download.

When you see a conversation option with (Intmidate) before it, choose that. Intimidate options are a little rarer than Persuade, so do it whenever you see one. Select five of those that end up being successful and you'll have this achievement. The four Coercion skills (Coercion, Improved Coercion, Expert Coercion, and Master Coercion) are very important for this, as is the number of skill points you have assigned to Strength.
