How to unlock the Hopelessly Romantic achievement in Dragon Age: Origins - Definitive Guide
Alistair:
Alistair's conversation options open themselves up pretty well and it is easy to predict what things to say that will make him love you more. He prefers gifts like statues and runes. One gift to get him easily is his mother's amulet that you can retrieve from Castle Redcliffe in the Arl's study. You need to have him around 90% approval to get in the tent with him.
NOTE: Alistair is straight and to score with him you must play as a girl character.
Leliana
I found Leliana to be the most difficult character to score with. One good way to get her approval up is to do her optional side quest. By going through her dialogue options, eventually one will open up asking something like "I have heard that in Orlais traveling minstrels are often spies". This will start a side quest that, when completed, will give you massive points with Leliana. You can also buy her a nug in Orzammar to increase her approval. She prefers holy symbols and items of Andraste as gifts as well as shoes. Go to the Brecilian Forest and near the entrance is the flower Andraste's Grace. Give it to her for a large approval bonus.
NOTE: Leliana is bisexual and you can score with her as a boy or a girl character.
Morrigan
Morrigan is tricky because she doesn't want to be in love. Make sure to never suggest to her anything about love being necessary or good. Morrigan also dislikes when you make decisions to help people when they don't directly help you end the Blight; she hates being sidetracked. She likes necklaces and amulets as gifts, one easy one is sold by the merchant in camp called Golden Rope Necklace. Try to get her to talk about a mirror that Flemeth took from her and then go to a specific merchant in Orzammar that sells a mirror as a gift. Morrigan will highly approve of this. Bring Morrigan in your party to the Mage's tower and she will tell you of a grimoire she wants you to find. This will start up her specific sidequest which you can complete for approval points (I didn't complete the sidequest and I was able to have sex with her). You will know when Morrigan wants you to have sex with her because in camp she will tell you that it is cold in her tent and that you should come in with her.
NOTE: Morrigan is straight and you can only score with her as a boy character.
Zevran
By far the easiest character to have sex with. He starts flirting with you almost immediately after you meet him (you will get him as a party member after your first main quest mission is completed). Tell him that he is cute and such. Really, just talk to him and he will start liking you. He enjoys receiving leather gifts and precious metals. You only need Zevran to be around 60%-75% approval to have sex with him.
NOTE: Zevran is bisexual and will get with any character you make.
It is possible to have sex with 3 characters in one playthrough. I recommend starting with Zevran and ending with either Alistair or Leliana (as those are the two most difficult to have sex with). It is good to have a high coercion skill so that you can convince the next character you are going for that you aren't cheating on them with the character you had sex with previously. You will need to have sex with the last character on another playthrough. Make sure you play as the opposite gender on your second playthrough.
Lastly, here is a guide to where the gifts are that each character enjoys getting.
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Gifts
First playthrough, I played as a male and had sex with (in this order) Zevran, Morrigan and Leliana.
Second playthrough, I played as a female and had sex with Alistair. The achievement unlocked right after the sex scene.
The easiest way that I have found of doing this seeing as how you can get 3 in one playthrough very easily and without needing to have your coercion skill up.
What you want to do first especially if it's your first playthrough make a female character. Doesn't matter the class I used a female elf mage to start. I played through saving all of my gifts with the exception of the Gimoire that you get recruiting the mages to help with the Blight. After I got Zevren to join my group I then went to camp the first chance I got. Once at camp I looked at the Wiki Gift Guide via the link above in Got Pez's walkthrough.
I gave Zevren what I had for him, then Liliana, then Alisiter, then Morrigan (I left Morrigan for last seeing as how no matter what you will only be able to get a maximum of 3 characters in the first play through). After I gave everyone their gifts I went ahead and talked to Zevren and then seduced him, mainly by making him talk about Antiva and all the things he has done for the crows and telling him he isn't a bad person for what happened and going along with agreeing about things that would deal with him being an assassin. Such as as him if he has killed innocents and then agree with his version of innocents. You get an approval boost for that. Zevren is the easiest, tell him he cute and that he knows it and blah, blah, blah. In about 5 minutes you will be able to get him to agree to sleep with you in your tent. After the cutscene you will get achievement number one. Talk to Zevren one more time and tell him you have to end it. If you do it nicely you'll still up his approval a small bit.
Next I went after Alister, this was just a tad bit more challenging. You have to sweet talk him a little bit then go in for the kill get all super romantic and his approval level should already be high enough that you can net him the same time at camp as Zevren. If you go all sickeningly lovey dovey with Alister you are guaranteed this achievement. Especially if you found the amulet that was his mothers and duncans shield. Now you can either break up with Alister or you can do like I did and stay with him until after the landsmeet and make him King. Either way that will leave you free for Liliana.
Now with Liliana I have notice since I tried both ways and found sticking with Alister until after the Landsmeet was the easiest way to get Liliana. Seeing as she has more conversation options open after the Landsmeet and she will sing for you if you choose that her song sounds comforting. Also at this point if you've been giving everyone their gifts according to the Wiki Guide her approval will be 100% by the end of the Landsmeet. Alister will break up with you because you are not of noble blood and he can't marry you. Sweet talk Liliana and when the option comes up say you are a terrible closet romantic and SHE will actually mention she is going to bed early ask if she wants company. When she agrees pick the option that will have you join her and that will then net you the third achievement.
Now as for Morrigan she is a tough cookie. You have to have her approval rating all the way to 100%, and don't mention love and try to be on the mean side with her. Seeing as how if you don't side with her most of the time you lose a decent chunk of your approval rating. Now Morrigan is a straight character. Alister is the only other straight character (Zevren and Liliana both are bisexual). So for Morrigan you will need to have a male character handy. Also you get major bonus approval if you complete Morrigans quest to kill Flemeth (which is very easy to do if you use a party of a mage that can cast the first 3 ice spells, and do healing group heal is great for that fight. Also have Liliana using ranged weapons and ice arrows if you run out switch to crossbow and use ice bolts. Make sure you have a good tank I used Alister your fourth one doesn't really matter a lot I used my dog and still won the fight with minimal damage and without anyone dieing). Once you do this and you have Morrigans approval to 51% at least (this information is thanks to ThinReaper) you can do the dialog two ways the first you can ask her to join you in your tent or you can make it so she asks you. Make sure to keep away from talking about love as much as possible but keep the conversation simple is what I found best with Morrigan.
I hope this helps and thank you to Got Pez for the wiki gifts link, and the walkthrough that helped give me my idea on how to get 3 in one.
The gifts are all relatively cheap, and increase a character's affection very highly if you match the correct gift to the character. Because of the Gifts DLC, and the close presence of a merchant to sell them, I managed to complete 3 of the love interest sideplots in under 35-45mins.
Then, as I am yet to do, make a female character, and make a quick runthrough of the game until the Camp is first available, which is very early on. From here, repeat the process but for Alistair alone.
To sum up: the Gifts DLC makes this so quick!
This solution is great and very relevant for everyone who's buying these days the Ultimate Edition - that DLC is included.
I bought the DA:O Ultimate Edition which comes with the Feast day gifts and pranks DLC - though you can purchase it separately through the marketplace or in game.
Giving a feast day gift to the corresponding person will give you +50 relationship with them making this achievement and the individual relationship achievements much easier to get (conversly giving a feast day prank will give you -50 relationship).
Details on the feast day gifts and pranks can be found here (external URL):

On a separate note, I'm trying to work out if the following procedure will count towards the achievement -
Save the game,
woo a character 'score' with them,
save again to a new slot,
reload the original save,
woo and 'score' with a different character.
etc.
I know you'll still need 2 playthroughs (one per gender), but I'm going to test if the above process is possible, if nothing more so that you don't have to break up with characters which would affect your game etc.
I'll test and post later
Complete the romance stories with Morrigan, Leliana, Zevran, and Alistair. For Morrigan, your character needs to be male. For Alistair, your character needs to be female. For Leliana and Zevran, your character can be either male or female. When you reach a certain level (track your progress with the meter below their Character Record), you will slowly approach the end of the romance. You need to get the meter as high as possible (Leliana for example is close to maxed out, Zevran doesn't take nearly as much). You'll do a quest for them, then share a kiss, and then...
For an easy way to gain points with them, go into your inventory, and scroll over to the "Other" list. Anything that says "Gift" in purple can be given to any potential romantic interest. Just use to scroll over to the character you're interested in, highlight which item you're going to give her, and press to give it to him. The best items vary from character to character. See First Knight, Witch Gone Wild, Easy Lover, and Wine, Woman, and Song for more details.
You'll probably need two playthroughs for this, but it may be possible to do this in one. If you have a high enough affection with each of the four, have been romantic with at least one of them, none of them are jealous, and have a high enough coercion talent and cunning ability, then you may be able to pull off a foursome with Isabella in The Pearl in Denerim.
The Feast Day gifts DLC also give huge approval bonuses. See the individual trophies for details.

The easiest way to establish relationships with characters is by giving them gifts. Gifts are found in the "Other" section and have a purple "Gift" label. Use the buttons select the desired character, and using the button , give him this item. Different characters like different items and the effect of using them will vary. For more information, see the achievements "First Knight", "Witch Gone Wild", "Easy Lover" and "Wine, Woman, and Song".
And now about the method by which the achievement can be obtained in one playthrough. If you have a good relationship with all four characters, you have already completed the romance part with one of them, and none of the remaining ones are jealous, and you also have high persuasion skills, then you can “figure it out for four” with the participation of Isabella in the tavern. Pearl" in Denerim. Personally, this “group party” did not work out for me, but on various forums they write that it is possible...
